  • When that happens startle them it'll make them catch their breath. Both my kids have gotten so mad it seems like they cant catch their breath. Blow in his face or splash water on his face (with your hand) to startle him. I'm glad I just had the instinct to blow on them I would have freaked if my child did that. Thank goodness it's not something more serious. Definately a strong willed boy you got there.

  • So glad you received some good news!

  • @NWGandee me too! thankfully he hasn't had another episode!

  • your welcome

  • :( how scary. Im glad to hear its nothing to serious. My brother use to do this to when he was younger. My Mum had to call the ambulance a few times because of it. The Dr said the same thing as yours did. Once they pass out they will start breathing again on their own. Im not sure what she did to help him but he did grow out of it!

  • @mummybee88 it is scary! i hope i never have to call an ambulance :(

  • whoo hoo my kind of breaskfast! dp and sweets! lol i'm glad that it was nothing serious and hopefully it never happens again, just keep doing what your doing :)

  • I am so glade that it is good news rather then bad news. My mom use to do this. It can be scary but i hear that they grow out of it.

  • Still scary, but what a relief, no seizures!

  • I KNOW THAT NECKLACE! That's a Mommy Necklace right? My daughter when she was younger, she would get so tense (when being "strong-willed" to the point that veins would like pop out of her neck and she would bust them in her eyes, which was scary! She just had to keep her calm. We ran into the same issue though keep her from crying. Jace grew out of it around 12-15 months. Hopefully Henry does much sooner!

  • I'm glad it not a seizure and good on mummy instincts

  • @xxmamachrisxx me too! thanks!

  • I am so glad everything is fine with him and it was not a seizure. I bet you are SO relieved. He is such a beautiful little baby boy!!!! Hope to see more updates from you soon! =]

  • @checkersssss9 thank you! i hope to do more updates!

  • Wow that must have been so scary:/ I get goosebumps just from hearing you talk about it. I learned something new today. Wow that sounds like something that would so happen to my daughter when she throws her fits. It hasn't though thank god! I don't know but the blowing in his face like you've been doing sounds like a good idea because it startles/distracts him to get him out of it. I hope it doesn't happen again:/

  • my son does this sometimes but its not that bad the first time it happened he was at the hosptial getting blood taken and he turned blue around the mouth so they checked the oxygen level and it was 82% now he does it all the time

  • @no1gangsta2002 he does it all the time?! how do you handle it? does he pass out?

  • @Humbily Yes he has passed out he did it at the drs the first time thank god but he doesnt pass out anymore but how i handle it is i dont freak out and get all emontinal because thats what they are looking for is ur reaction so stay calm and pick them up talk to them if then it doesnt work blow in there face a long steady blowing helps also i will take cold water and put it on my sons head and face like with my hand or cloth it helps

  • My son does that exact same thing. It's just because they get themselves so work up sometimes!

  • @beckoninglight16 how do you handle it?

  • @Humbily I just give him something else to be distracted with, like a toy that plays music. If that doesn't help, then I know he's cranky and probably needs a nap. Every child is different though. I hope that doesn't happen again to you, it's scary!
