I learned this song using tabs. It's a lot easier that way. Don't use his finger technique though, it's to confusing. Use whichever way you feel comfortable with. And you guy's should look up the tabs also, it's a little easier.

This song is easier than most people think; you have to get a feel for it as if you wrote the riff yourself and just use alternate picking. This guy tried, but if you listen to the song, it doesn't have a 'du-nu-nu-nu-du-ni-na-nu-nu' pattern, but a more mellow 'off' beat progression. Good luck to everyone watching this; ear training is easier on you.

I find it easier to use my ring finger to do the hammer on. To adjust for that, I my my pinky in the same place, but I basically swap my middle and ring finger. I use the ring finger for the 5th fret of the 5th string, and my middle finger for the 5th fret of the 4th string. That way I don't get my fingers all mixed up. I then basically just have to keep my hand in the same position for the entire intro. You can use your ring finger for the hammer on, which I find much easier then the pinky.
