I grew up listening and watching Mel in Antones on the drag in Austin. He was the best I ever saw come thru the place and that includes a lot of very fine guitar players and musicians. Mel could play anything in any style

WOW I am just learning that Mel Brown died. I am the girl on his album cover Mel Brown Blues For We. My name is, Alvita (McCray) Kisini, and I shot this photo shoot with Mel Brown when I was 17, in 1969 at Griffith Park. I spoke to him a few years ago when he was in Canada after tracking him down. RIP Mel Brown it was nice working with you!
