Dia duit, I love this man, had a coffe and a chat with him yesterday on Westmoreland st, bought a load of books of him for christmas presents. He even thanked me in his new book 'Once upon a wicked eye' as Steve the poet, I have never been more honoured and am only blowing my trumpet writting about it here! I'll see him again soon and give him a hug from you all!
Brilliant to see Pat on youtube. I used to love Pats Hat, and Pats Chat on RTE years ago. It was my favourite show as a kid. All the kids loved him, the way he'd wear the pot on his head, and recite poetry, even though I hadnt a clue what was going on half the time, I loved it! If anyone has any more clips, please put them up!
i met him loads of times in grafton street dublin. you will see him on the side of the road selling books. but what ever you do dont ask him about his past life or anything he gets really angry.
