This was a beautiful routine with characteristically poor video editing of a Cirque du Soleil performance. I've seen Cirque both live and on video (TV/DVD/internet), and the live performances are far unequaled by the feeble attempts to impart an "artistic" dimension to the shows' production videos. In particular, I'm infuriated by constant transitions to inconsequential background characters spinning in the darkness when I'm attempting to view the main performance. They should really stop it.

@BettyJuan But cirque is theater! The background characters and the other characters in the show add artitry to cirque! If it were just the performers and no background characters then it would be just another circus. The Spinster spinning in the darkness adds this mysterious feel to the act along with Zoe and her giant balloon. It just makes the scene balance. However if you want to see just the performer, i suggest you see Quidam live.

The song is called "Cannes". A friend of mine emailed Cirque about it and was told the song has not been released on any of their soundtracks and their are no plans to do so. It's a shame, this is my favorite song in the show.

I have never tried this before, but this comes from the cirque tribune forum, where others have done it already... YOu play the dvd, you connect the audio output of the dvd with audio input of computer, and with a recording program you record it. Not sure it's as simple as it sounds, bu they
