  • Hyena's are matriarchs. Once they find our he has a penis down the hierarchy he goes.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=V7FFXVZCFlA&feature=related

    Finnish Bearman

  • What Happened to the rest? :( :"(

  • @JinkinOsawri this is part of the dangerous compainions video. its about kevin and the lions and hyenas

  • I LIKE HIS ACCENT dont be nAsty:)

  • @crunchybenzos ....yeah um hum ....till one of them rips your throat out!

  • yo quiero ser Kevin Richardson para estar con todos esos milagros de dios

  • @crunchybenzos I was just about to say that but you beat me to it.

  • Lmaooo, she's like "yeahh he's really sweet and cool...but...just a liiiiiiiiiittle bite won't hurt..." "DON'T BE NAWSTY" lol!!

  • Can someone please make a full video of all the clips of this man + the lions?? :)

  • I wonder how the lions/hyenas react when the others scent on Kevin, does he have to wash off the smell?

  • That's just awesome! Totally fearless. You go, Sir!

  • Bad day to wear your bacon friendship bracelet?

  • these cute spotted stupid hyenas will kill u and eat your bones while they laugh.

  • awww cute doggie with spots lol xD

  • Sounds like a song in the start

  • Where do you get these clips from?

  • playing with lion, tam them is noothing new,we saw that many times like circo etc but with hienas, leopards and others its definitly awesome.this guy have some special ability no doubt about

  • god fuck Hyena O.O this men ask for a early dead lol they can easy break his hand O.o

    Respect lol!

  • This guy has to be smarter than this. I like him but he claims that he knows so much about Lions/hyenas yet he does not carry any form of protection when he is with them. If he knew all there is to know about these animals than he would know that its not possible to know everything about these animals and that they could attack him at any time for no reason at all and kill him.

  • @huckster699

If he shows fear and apprehension he can't do his job, he is part of the pride, he has no fear, no worry at all, because he uses LOVE not intimidation , trainers imo are stupid, but Kevin isn't training them, he is one of them.

  • @huckster699 he knows so much, but yeah your right that some animals can turn on their owners, zoologist knows that but still for them having so much protection will also make an animal nervous, so they rather risk their own lives for these animals.

  • @huckster699 Come off it. Of course he knows more than you, that's why he's doing what he's doing, while you're just sitting on youtube.

And that's another thing, no animal will ever, EVER attack you for no reason. They do it because you're in their territory, because they feel threatened by you, or because they need something to eat, or because, lacking hands or vocal chords, they use their mouth to find out what you are, like sharks do.

  • So, he's badass with lions ANd hyenas? this dude has to get more girls than macgyver, james bond, and chuck norris, combined.

  • @kingofmonra haha i love that you include norris and macguyver in bond's league. Macguyver seems like what bruce campbell would be like if he took himself too seriously. By the way, bruce campbell has surely been with more women than anyone else, ever. He's fucking bruce campbell!

  • never believe a hyena!!!

  • @jackstrawfrmwchta omg....lol dude what the hell wrong with you? you jealous that you can't be like him because you can't understand animals? man it must really suck to be you since you always want to show dominance towards animals and say thats my pet i bet. to understand animals like Kevin and hundreds of other people is a blessing to be side by side with them. Your comment surely shows your professionalism on how BIG of an animal expert you are and on YouTube, a Troll. Good luck with that.

  • @TheGarcia350 I gave it to your mom Hyena style.

  • @TheGarcia350 BOOM. Win.

  • Perhaps he should let the hyena to sniff his genital as well (which is a part of their greeting ceremony)

  • who is that one guy who downvoted this video ? the downvote option should be disable for all Kevin Richardson videos

  • they r dfangerouuuuuuuuuuuuuus

  • i bet in 2090 animal will be walking around like humens XD or just be pets

  • omg its true? if u bite the ear theil make u one of them lol?

  • This is ending up badly for him someday.....

  • @teleaula possibly because wild animals can behave unpredictably. I just hope it doesn't for his sake.

  • @teleaula, yeah this guy is on a suicide mission.

  • he's and 12 degree blackbelt in animal arts lmao

  • his rank must be high then

  • everyone that gets this close to animals always end up getting stabbed by a sting ray

  • theres no sound

  • Hyena are always testing him... I guess this guy got better links with lions than Hyenas

  • @Xecutionner2K the matriarch is a higher position than kevin

  • @leitopk4life What do you mean ? that the matriarch always test him and semi-bite him ?

  • @Xecutionner2K in hyenas they have ranks since kevin is a high raking female he can do whatever he wants with the lowers ranks but to the matriarch he is still someone she is knowing

  • yuno(sp?) i dun knw hw to spell it's name but that is the wild hyena, a high ranking hyena.

  • Nah, not jelous of the guy. He's earned their respect. He's done what many won't do and sacrificed time, years, studying and courage.

He even said, "if it does happen, I die - then that's how it is. If I could come back again, after that happened to me, I'd do it ALL OVER again."

I admire him for his patiance, his dedication, his studying, his crafting a skill, persistence, consistency and for finding what he loves to do. It took a lot of courage and consistency for them to trust him.

  • que bonito

  • we are all the same; popel at the bottom get sitted on the most.

  • Gee, those hyenas could kill him instantly, although I'd rather trust a hyena instead of trusting Geroge Bush.

  • where can i watch his show with full episodes?

  • I think he has to scrub his skin off to get rid of smell after visiting hienas if he wants to meet the lions...

  • LOOOOOLL

  • im jealous of this guy...

  • is this guy krazy!!!!!!!!!

  • This man have a special thing, special skill, i don't know how desribe

  • he cast imperious on his animals.

  • @Evenor48 if you raise a lion/hyena or w.e from birth they will have a bond with you no matter what. unless you treat it like shit.

  • @Evenor48 He understand animals at the most basic level. He understands their instincts and how to be like them. Most people only know how to be themselves around animals, he know how to be like an animal.

  • @Evenor48

That's what we all thought about Steve Irwin, Now he is dead...

  • @chuchito0 Dead? LOL

  • @Evenor48

Yes dead... I bet you don't know steve Irwin.

  • what show/video is this clip from? I'd love to see the whole thing. Thanks!

  • Animals and men brothers forever.

    Special magnificent companions.

    Affection...

    Sweet.

  • @GnollGiocherellone We are animals too, in many ways.

  • @GnollGiocherellone yeah but animals don't kill humans for fun or for money and they don't sent you to a zoo in a cell for years

  • the hyena is probably the easiest to tame for him. As a hyena once it is shown its rank or if kevin shows his authority over them they will not try to overthrow him.

  • "which international project to develop fusion is most likely to succeed the soonest, and by when is it expected to succeed?"

Hmmmmm....I've got 500 characters to answer this thesis type query or is it just a leading question aimed at aggrandizing and making yourself look terribly "clever?"

    How about this?

In what manner did Stalin's 5-year plan and liquidation of The Kulak's impact the rubber/ tin industry in pre-war Poland What were the good and bad points?

    On my desk Monday AM!

  • Actually, my question does have a very short answer: The Joint European Torus, which is a magnetic plasma confinement project that the lead expects will yield a sustainable reaction in 12 to 20 years.

It's a very easy question to answer even with a simple google search... which was my point. You are completely unwilling/unable to take a moment to do even basic research. Instead you make personal attacks in the hopes of distracting people from the fact that you don't know what you're saying.

  • Fascinating. Thank you for answering your own glib query. You said your education was "years ago", but appear to still be in high school debating class looking for a cheap frill.

I suppose I could have gone online (or Wikipedia!), but is this not the wont of lightweights? Anyway, your agenda was Mr. Clever Clogs as you well know. You are not stupid, but "cleverness" is dreadfully annoying.

Or do lightweights prefer CNN, SkyNews or ABC?

    TV and internet - everyone's a 'expert.'

  • And it seems to me you never even got as far as high school debatie. You completely ignored the whole point of my query and instead chose to make a personal attack... that's 3rd grade tactics, friend.

You just can't get past the fact that I peruse other news sources besides the ones that you think are valid can you? You know what else is even more annoying? Pompous arrogance...

Internet research is taking over. The newspaper industry is dying. Accept it. Get over it. Life goes on.

  • The point of your "query" was a feeble attempt at rhetoric, hence my high school debating reference. No, I did not attend high school debating as it was merely a ruse to improve the self-esteem of nerds (and no, I'm not refferring to you specifically).

You asked a contrived question that had nothing to do with the topic at hand and I asked a similar one that you failed to answer. Not that I expected you to!

    Simply highlighting your silliness!

    You take yourself very seriously.

  • Indeed, many people glean their "facts" from the internet and television. The former is a particularly useful tool as I after all could not have such a compelling debate (or argument as you call it), without it.

But you must admit, it has made many imbeciles self-appointed "experts....?

You take a notebook everywhere you go and only frequent Wi-Fi hotspots when you have a beer or a bite to eat? You sound terribly geeky!

And no, anyone that cites CNN, SkyNews or ABC is laughable.

  • Also, I will happily admit that my specific knowledge of collectivization only stretches as far as the general effects on Poland's economy at the time... that being a devastation so thorough that a country who's main export was grain had to import food (such as grain) to prevent a major famine.

Thank you for reminding me about that interesting bit of history, I'll be sure to look it up and read up on it some more. History is a wonderful subject and so easy to research.

  • History is indeed "wonderful" (a bit floral), as it very much - for better or worse - shapes both the present and future.

But why does it always have to be so long ago?

    Does that make sense....?

  • i love how he says "Unooo dont be nasty"

  • This guy wanna die!

  • This dumb Springbok has a death wish.

  • Nah. He's been around these animals for 10 years and has yet to be seriously injured. He knows what he's doing and has actually attained rank in the pack. The name of the documentary is "Dangerous Companions" and is available on google video in its entirety... you should watch it sometime.

  • Are you drunk?

The only sensible thing you said in your comment was: "He's been around these animals for 10 years and has YET to be seriously injured", 'yet" being the operative word.

These are wild animals with jaws that can do serious damage. They're not labradors. He's had a good run and got lucky. Anyway, when they film this, you can betchya ass that the crew are armed to the teeth with high powered rifles and the paramedics are on standby.

  • You didn't even try to look up the documentary, did you? Anyway, it's just him and a single camera-man most of the time. He doesn't seem carry large caliber weapons in the preserve. These are animals he's raised from birth. He knows their moods, their tendencies, their reactions. He uses knowledge, forethought, and an understanding of the animal, rather than guns (which wouldn't save him from an angry clan of 30, anyway). Once again: "Dangerous Companions", google video. Check it out.

  • You miss the point and I have not seen the documentary which is neither here nor there.

You cannot "know" the "mood" and "tendencies" of a hyena - or any wild animal - because they are wild. In this video, he speaks to the hyena as if it were an errant poodle, therefore sending a mixed signal to the masses re the nuances of dangerous animals.

It doesn't happen every day, but so-called "tame" wild animals turn on their benefactors with unfortunate results.

    Because they're so 'cute.'

  • Actually, the documentary IS the point, and you'd know that if you took the time to watch it (I bet you'd enjoy it). But I digress...

You seem to be under the impression that just because an animal is wild, it means that it doesn't have predictable patterns of behavior. If that was true, zoology would be a perfectly pointless field and these animals would be unable to have such complex social structures as they do.

Also, these hyenas were raised in a preserve and he interacts with them daily

  • Wild animals do have certain recurring traits, but when it comes to humans mingling with them like pets, then much can go awry. For example, on occassions, famers are gored to death by a bull they've raised from birth. Prior to that, not so much as a peep out the bull . And take Roy Horn with his "trained" tiger.

Raising hyenas doesn't curtail their atavistic savagery. They're not pets and neither does daily interaction alter this.

I much prefer documentaries on animals in the wild!

  • And there you have it. These hyenas are certainly not pets. They're all rescued animals that would have died otherwise and their children, as far as I understand it.

If you want to look at it in terms of statistics, 10 years of data with nearly 100 lions and hyenas (and not a single major injury) means that the average is animal isn't quite as random as you seem to think...

Don't get me wrong, he's acknowledged the risk of death by mauling... but he considers it a worthwhile risk.

  • No, hyenas are not pets, but this guy preys on the mis-informed (and the hyena is a much mis-understood animal!) into perhaps thinking they are somewhat.

The stats you quote are interesting and I'd be curious to know the source. That said, a wild animal is a wild animal. Take a look at YouTube video: ""Lion attack Man -- Do not watch if you don't have DARE by limewire7 . An apparently "tame" circus lion. Again, it's a wild animal.

If Kevin R guy got mauled, I'd definitely tune in!!

  • The statistics come from various reporting sites, the 10 year history of documentaries the guy has made, the preserve's website, and the fact that he is in charge of (and interacts with) nearly a hundred animals in total (including hyenas, lions, leopards, and jackals).

Once again, there's a difference between a "tame" animal and the animals at this preserve. He doesn't try to train them. He doesn't claim them as pets. They are animals in a preserve that he also happens to interact with.

  • So the statistics come exclusively from Mr. Richardson's preserve and personal experiences. So what we have are examples based on a single individual's interaction with x amount of wild (or "tame") animals.

This is not a cross the board survey, so therefore not indicative of human fatalities/injuries when dealing with purported domesticated wild animals on a global annual basis.

Maybe Kevin is/will be responsible for maulings and deaths due to his dumbing down of people's perceptions?

  • Mr. Richardson manages the animals at the preserve, he doesn't own it. Also, I never made any claims that other people could or should do this with these animals or that it's a common occurrence.

I made the case that Kevin in particular has an excellent safety record due to his experience, knowledge, and aptitude for these animals... not a general case.

And no, he wouldn't be. By your argument, we shouldn't show pros rock climbing because people might try to go and climb their nearest cliff.

  • One minute you cite the stats as a cross the board reference, but then say they are exlusively limited to this guy's experience. Two entirely different concepts.

    How about this?

I wonder how many people have been mauled/killed due to watching Kevin cuddle ferocious predators?

And come now. That's some pretty trickery rhetoric re rock climbers. Maybe we should stop showing people driving cars as car accidents are such a leading cause of death!

  • Actually, you seem to not even have read my comment. I specifically stated that I never cited those stats as a cross the board reference, you simply misread and assumed... and you know what they say about when you assume...

Anyway, you make my point for me. We absolutely shouldn't stop showing people driving cars because they might go out and drive. Just like we can't stop showing stunt drivers because people might try to do donuts in the highway...

  • For what's worth, I still contend that incredibly rigid safety procedures/firearms are present when this guy messes around with these hyenas. Of course, this is not apparent when filmed and nor will they announce as it would reduce the "dare" element.

Akin to these survival shows where a guy is supposed to be by himself and if things go wrong, he may die.

Dubious. Still, this kind of stuff does, however, enjoy high ratings and that's what it's all about.

  • Well, if you look at some of the other videos, you can clearly see him going in and closely interacting with lions and hyenas.

In the documentary, you see the same, with wide pans that show no trace of another human being except the cameraman. There is even a well documented scene where he spent roughly 5 or 6 hours napping with a pair of lions while waiting for a camera crew for a commercial to arrive.

There's even a video of him swimming with a lioness (on youtube).

  • So he naps and swims with lions, does he?

You're re-affirming the obvious, namely HIS desire to portray highly aggressive wild animals as no more than loveable, cuddly imps! All it takes is one buffoon to mimic Kevin "Tarzan" Richardson, and we have human lunch on our hands.

It is unhealthy to depict armed, powerful killers as approachable, sweet pets.

You write well and therefore seem too intelligent to be hoodwinked by Kevin's personal agenda.

Camera trickery is all the rage!

  • You seem to be convinced that the man has some sort of personal agenda in all this. He works for the preserve... his agenda is to make money for the preserve and to forward their interests, including (but not limited to) the preservation of these animals in the wild.

These animals are ordinarily wild creatures and he repeatedly warns people that what he does is, in fact, dangerous. Just because you saw someone rock climbing for a living, doesn't necessarily mean you'd go climb everest.

  • Aaah, come on, he's no more than a ego-fuelled Vegas animal tamer/circus performer doing tricks with big cats dressed in a safari suit!

And yes, I agree!! Rock climbers are a dreadfully irksome breed. They have this unfathomable urge to scale enormous slabs of granite and then get stuck and incur a sizeable bill for rescue efforts. They should have comprehensive insurance or pay out of their own pocket lest this occur.

  • Where did Vegas come from? He's works out of South Africa. Ever hear of George Adamson? Guy did nearly the same thing years ago, got even more famous, and noone went to go cuddle lions.

In fact, lions and other big cats around the world kill fewer people a year than bees... a LOT fewer.

As for rock climbers, I believe their hobby does affect their insurance rates... but it remains a hobby and doesn't affect my previous point.

  • I am aware of his location due to his accent - the Vegas reference was aimed at Roy and Sigfried. Remember them? They did a show with apparently "tame" tigers before one was savagely mauled. Again, give wide animals a wide berth.

Your cats/bees statement is absurd. My point is not which animal kills more people, but gross mis-representation of wild animals by cuddling them and treating them like household pets.

Rock climbers always have silly beards and are boring, don't you find?

  • Oh my goodness!

Not that dreadful Adamson man with the wife that had the whining voice? Yes, I do remember that maudlin pap, Born Free, immortalising "Elsa" the lioness like some Disney character.

Even worse than Richardson! Utter tripe.

You really are scraping the barrel.

  • Yes. Clearly you know much more about all of this than any of the famous animal behaviorist and zoologists that have studied the animals for significant portions of their lifetimes.

Forget the experts, you sir, with your computer and wondrous sense of humor, are the true expert here.

  • Your sarcasm aside, are you suggesting for one minute that "Born Free" was something more than fuzzy, feel good crap aimed exclusively at entertaining the unwashed masses?

Watch a real documentary on lions for chrissake.

It's a friggin' wild animal and not a starving African child up for adoption!

  • "The unwashed masses"? You really have a flair for the arrogant, don't you?

I've seen plenty of documentaries on wild lions, from the old stuff on NatGeo and Discovery Channel to the new stuff like "Into the Pride" and "Cat Diaries", which I'm sure you'd love.

Have you ever seen born free? There was a lot of fluff in it, I'll give you that... but there's also a real documentary in there. One that leaves no illusions about how special Adamson himself was, that he did something no one else could

  • "A flair for the arrogant?"

How dare you! My modesty, sir, is second to none.

Of course I've seen Born Free. Loved it as a lad, but as a grown man, I'd need a sick bowl to view it.

And yes, I do love all the "real" animal documentaries, watching them a plenty. It is plain that you also have seen your fair share of them. My advice would be stick to them, and keep away from KR's feel good gibberish.

I would gladly surrender a teste to see KR mauled to death.

    It's on the cards......

  • Yes, clearly after nearly 11 years of raising and interacting with lions with no major injuries, now he's going to randomly get mauled by one of the critters.

Once again, there is a reason "Animal Behaviorist" is an accepted scientific field of study. KR happens to be one, which explains why he hasn't been mauled.

Speaking of... I find your strong desire to see another human being badly hurt or killed somewhat off-putting. Even if you don't like him, that's no reason to wish him dead.

  • Very, very interesting. You refer to the magnificent beasts KR "works" with a "critters."

This is typically a term used in pest control for undesirables in a home like mice, rats and spiders for example. Harmless irritants, right?

This is EXACTLY what I'm referring to. Watching this clown has made you call a lion a critter! Your pap quaffing ability is remarkable!

    Case and point.

    Thank you.

PS Wouldn't you want see a human being chomped on a tad by a "critter?"

    Sheep.

  • Pap quaffing? Really?

And, once again, you prove your complete inability to look anything up, choosing instead to make and act on stupid assumptions.

The dictionary definition of "Critter" is as follows:

    1.a domesticated animal.

    2.any creature.

Note the second definition, which is as acceptable as the first. You're so hung up in your own arrogant views and opinions you miss out on even simple, easy to find, facts... then you insult someone on their intelligence.

    Also, it's "Case in point".

  • Now it's petty rhetoric? Come now - you know full well that critter denotes smaller "creatures."

Indeed, a more detailed dictionary definition says:

"The use of critter among younger speakers almost always carries with it a jocular or informal connotation."

Oh yes, hyenas and lions are so "jocular" and "informal", especially in yours and Kevin's world.

    So cuddly wuddly and cute!

Except, of course, when they're tearing the shit out of other mammals.

  • Well, I certainly wouldn't be considered a younger speaker anymore. Are you implying that you're a child? You write like an older man, but you certainly are very stubborn and close minded about your views on the world... so it could be.

Once again you show your willingness to completely ignore other relevant facts by taking the first definition you see and proclaiming it to somehow be the only definition that counts.

Once again, merriam-webster's defines it simply as "a creature".

  • You scream youthful idealism, hence your passion for KR. But you write so damn well. The future bodes well for you if you shake off your mediocrity, but this is the trapping of youth. Hopefully you'll shed it like a snake skin. What are you studying?

Which relevant "facts" do you speak of?

Critter? Oh, come on - you're clutching at straws. A lion is no more than a critter than an elephant.

  • I got my masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering, though that was years ago.

In that particular sentence, the other relevant facts were the other definitions of a word. Once again, not any less valid because you choose to ignore them.

And since when did correcting someone on the definition of a word based on what's in the dictionary become "clutching at straws"?

And you're right, since the definition of the word is "Creature", a lion is no more a critter than... any other critter.

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering, eh? Explains a lot.

And we're back on the darned "critter" thing again! You're like a hyena with its jaws around a hapless zebra foal with this!

Let me ask you this: When was the last time you heard an elephant being referred to as a critter? And when was the last time you heard of an ant or a spider being referred to as a critter?

Answer honestly now, as semantics is never charming, but you are an electrical/computer guy.......

  • "his agenda is to make money for the preserve and to forward their interests...."

Really? Are you his accountant or have you hacked into his banking details? Like Steve Irwin (dog rest his soul!), I'm sure ol' Kevin doesn't too badly for himself.

Controversial and excessive contact with dangerous animals is big bucks as you clearly denote.

  • Yeah. Clearly he's rich, which is why he spends so much time within disemboweling distance of the critters... If it was only about the money and he was doing that well for himself, don't you think he'd have at least stopped dealing with the fully grown lions, if not retired?

You're reading too much into this. The guy seems to genuinely believe that he's doing something good for these lions... and as far as we can tell from the news footage (CNN, SKY news, MSNBC, etc), he's just what he appears

  • Herein lies the folly of your chatter. Citing news networks like you have is meaningless. It is no more than pap being churned out 24/7 with feel good stories about some guy cuddling predators. Great for Jo Blow to watch after a day at the office.

Not exactly an accredited source a la New York Times or an independent study is it?

Leave lions be and stop portraying them as over-sized pussycats. Ego, ego and ego!

Or give the people what they want.....

    Dog bless America.

  • You're use the New York Times as your example of an accredited news source? It's not the 1950's anymore... those guys succumbed to the same media appeal as the rest of the news sources as soon as news papers started going out of business.

That aside, I know I can't count on you to do any of your own research so I suppose I'll have to tell you. The news portrays this just as it is: A very special man is interacting with these animals in a very dangerous, yet amazing way.

  • Put it this way. Comparing CNN or Sky News to the NYT is akin to comparing Steve Buscemi to Pauly Shore. Not every movie Buscemi has made is faultless, but his track record is considerably more impressive than "The Weasel."

My research??!! All I'm saying is that KR seems determined to portray the planet's most lethal mammals as toy poodles. You're the one providing sketchy references and sources.

    What's next for KR?

    Quilting with great white sharks?

It would be a big hit no doubt.

  • That's exactly what I'm talking about. How many of his videos or documentaries have you bothered to view? How many articles have you read about him from any source, be it critical or complimentary?

You know nothing about him or his work except for the assumptions you have made about them both. Your assertions are not even based on any source whatsoever except your own prejudices. Even if ABC news, or animal planet, or any of those aren't the NYT... their reports count for more than your opinion

  • Calling wild beasts/magnificent predators "critters" confirms my humble "opinion" that you an everyman who watches shit news networks.

I have watched precious few of KR's documentaries but know that he cuddles and sleeps with lions which is not healthy. And he tells "Uno" not to be 'nasty" (give me strength!!)

    Still, they're only "critters", right...?

Try to give the dumb news networks a break. If you really don't like the NYT, then maybe try The Economist...?

  • I love the economist, actually. I also enjoy discovery and National Geographic (both of which have featured KR, by the by). Getting all of your news from one source only is a great way to limit your perspective and miss out on interesting things.

And, look it up, the second definition of "critter" according to websters dictionary is "Any animal"... so, shows how much you know.

  • So you "love" The Economist, yet also enjoy CNN, ABC and SKY.

Getting any kind of "news" from latter three (and citing them as bona fide sources!!) shows a bovine bent. BBC ain't bad either. Suppose you love them in between ABC and SKY, also..?

You are no more than a dilettante who thinks otherwise, which of course is the very essence of dilettantes.

National Geographic and Animal Planet? Once educational, right? Stores in malls now.

    Enjoy Myth Busters, populist everyman.

  • And so you ONLY read the economist and the NYT? You must really be up on all the latest polotical and natural happenings all over the world. Tell me, which international project to develop fusion is most likely to succeed the soonest, and by when is it expected to succeed?

Anyone who is ignorant or narrowminded enough to believe that 1 or 2 publications could possibly cover all the relevant news of the world is an idiot... worse, they think they're otherwise.

    Enjoy your box, conservative.

  • At one point did I say I ONLY read the NYT and The Economist? They are merely two publications I peruse. You're jumping to conclusions and being presumptive. And you have the audacity to cite populist tripe networks like Sky and CNN??!! 24-hour shite.

    And now I'm a conservative??!!

What next? I'm an Eskimo with a limp, a lisp, autism, goes to church twice on Sundays and only eats brown bread??!!

  • Only repeating what you told me. So far, the only publications you've listed that you read/watch is NYT and the Economist. What others?

Also, I find it hilarious that you're now accusing me of doing what you've been doing all this time... jumping to conclusions without research and being presumptive. Doesn't feel good when people make assumptions about you, does it?

And yes. Narrow-minded, stubborn, and willfully ignorant... I suppose if you don't like conservative, you could go with jackass.

  • Well it's not a question of me "liking" - or otherwise - conservative per se; you can call me a Nazi if you so desire. It matters not, but what is intriguing is your branding of someone. Call me a a screaming liberal if you feel inclined. Feel free to make as many assumptions of me as you wish!

    Jackass?

Ouch! Now you're just being mean, not to mention uncivil, my dear boy.

How does one "watch" The Economist or NYT...?

I sometimes read US Weekly (my wife's!) when pooing.

  • I love how now you're accusing me of branding when not two comments ago you yourself called me a populist everyman. I also recall being referred to as a "pap quaffer"?

Civility was clearly never in play.

And one "watches" the economist by visiting their website and watching one of the myriad of videos they post there... or are you not familiar with your own example?

Once again, I redirect your attention at your dislike of assumptions being made about you... when you've made so many yourself.

  • Again, who gives a rat's ass what you call me (or what I call you, my thin-skinned friend).

Call me a child and puppy murdering, SKY news watching rapist if you like!

And you're absolutely right. One can "watch" The Economist (and many other periodicals), but the tangible rustle of paper is hard to beat, once again reaffirming your infatuation with the celluloid medium.

It's hard to beat reading The NYT on your own over a good breakfast. Takes a good hour cover to cover.

  • Hah! Thank you for affirming my suspicions, sir.

Throughout this argument you've ignored inconvenient facts, refused to look up information for yourself, and made many (unfortunately succesful) attempts to turn it personal.

You're stuck in the status quo. No matter what anyone says, you'll always believe whatever you want... and that's fine.

Your opinions on this are as inconsequential as you are, because you'll never change anything. Keep ranting to deaf ears if you wish, I'm done listening.

  • You know what's dawned on me for a while? This whole "opinion" thing. Before I go any further, let me just cite a cliche - opinions are like assholes in that they usually stink and everyone has one.

You are hellbent on being "right" and now you sound shrill and adamant that you are. Once again, I reiterate the fact that you are far from unintelligent, yet a member of the masses, which is a terrible waste....

Inconvenient facts? SkyNews, ABC and CNN...??

    Dear oh dear.

  • Didn't you call him a "sheep" in a previous post? I think you did. Isn't there a word for that? Hypocrisy? I don't know. I don't read NYT.

  • Your post is full of questions and "naivete." Not bad for a 21-year old...

And yes, I did call him a sheep, but why you say this in quotation marks is intriguing. And wherein lies the correlation between a "sheep" and hypocrite?

    You sound clever.

  • I put "sheep" in quotations because it is an insulting term used by nonconformist types. Modern day that is. A term that is so idiotic and contradictory to itself that I can't stand to hear (or read) it. I was making an observation when you claimed he labeled you, which is where the hypocrisy came into play.

Good argument all in all on both sides. Probably the first I actually went back the beginning just to read it.

I'm not clever, in the least bit, but thanks all the same.

  • The plot thickens....

I'm sorry that the term "sheep" has such a troubling effect on your being.

What about "lamb" or "mutton?" Still pisses you off...?

You read the whole argument!? Truly flattered, but then along comes the bone pecking vulture!

Your modesty matches your cleverness, so stop being sheepish about the former.

  • No. Those are o.k. in my book. And I'll admit, it was childish to come back and throw in my two cents, but at least I refrained from using profanity and other such internet jargon. Right? Modesty is always good. Arrogance is disgusting.

  • So modesty is always "good", is it? Reminds me of a great quote:

"He has no talent and is modest about it."

And arrogance is "disgusting?" These are strongly worded black and white view points. Arrogance can be annoying when not coupled with charm, intelligence and talent.

Look at Muhammed Ali, the great, great boxer. Just thing how dull he'd be if modest, but modesty is always "good", right?

    Fuck profanity.

  • Hyenas aren't THAT vicious. I've actually never read about any attack on a human by a domestic hyena..

Kevin does take risks being around Uno though since she's wild.

  • In fact, I have talked to owners of pet hyenas and they just nip you sometimes(I only read the nipping thing for striped hyenas but i assume it'd be the same with spotties)

  • "Hyenas aren't THAT vicious", you say xXKyoushiroXx???!!!

How abouts you humor me a do me a favor....

Take a look at the YouTube video: "Wild World (Hyena Kills)", posted by TravellingSquirrel.

Then get back to me. This is a spotted hyena, and I think you'll agree he's giving more than a "nip."

You seem to "know" Kevin" and "Uno."

  • That's a wild hyena catching prey. WAAAY different than a domestic hyena.

And yes. i'm a big fan of kevin and his hyenas.

  • "A domestic hyena?"

    What??!!

Like sweet sorrow, a classic oxymoron.

So you think that in all leafy, green suburbs, good folk will be out walking their pet, "domesticated" hyenas, playing frisbee with them and letting children pet them and ride their backs?

This is EXACTLY what these documentaries do to people who have little to no understanding re the nuances of wild animals/nature. Sanitizes/Disneyfies the subject.

    Extraordinary!

  • What's the title of this show?

  • "Dangerous Companions" and it's up on google video.

  • i can't believe it...

  • I love Hyenas :)

  • wheres the sound. and kevin ricardson is awesome! i saw him on growing up:hyena

  • Wát een vale IEJENA

  • Whats the name of the documentary?

  • Dangerous Companions -- Awesome work how the guy acts with lions

  • this guy is the coolest

  • aparently hyenas arent canines there actually closer in relation to the feline family.

  • An hyena tasted him. So lucky she didn't like the taste.

  • he tasted like male lion and you know how these hyenas fear them...just kidding..

actually, that was an annoyed nip from the hyena. If she was hungry, she might have bitten off a larger chunk and maybe more. I like to see kevin playing with the wild animals so i hope it doesn't come to that.

  • Why not, they can even be domesticated..

  • Many farmers use them as guard "dogs" in Africa...

  • guys tht wanna get eaten

  • Some people want to live for their work rather than work to live. Being comfortable isn't the height of attainment for everybody. I can't imagine this being more dangerous than being a NASCAR driver or bull rider.

  • Not to say that you have to do something risky to love your work. But life isn't about sheltering yourself from risk, it's about getting out there and doing what you love to do.

  • Hyena's are very fascinating animals. It's man's ignorance and prejudice that has always been people's hatred towards this creature.

  • Yeah it's like pitbulls, great dogs, but the media will make you believe otherwise.

  • I wish more people could understand that their not disgusting evil creatures....If only they could see this vid..

    Hyenas! <3 ;]

  • Hyenas are cute, smart, caring, social, brave and really funny animals!

  • If you ever run into a hyena and it catches you you'll learn to hate it as it eats you alive. hyenas don't kill their prey, the eat them alive! But having said that, hyenas are one of my favorite animals, with the king of the beast being #1.

  • They are cute, but I would not touch them, big respect

  • I love the way he cuddles the hyena at the ed and the hyena's whining...makes me wish I could do that, hyenas are so cute.
