If they need care, fine. Provide emergency life-saving care, and once stable, send them back for further care in their own country. (INS will have to provide the transport back??).
This group is NOT dumb. They know EXACTLY what they are doing and how to play the system.
1. unemployed who can't afford COBRA...yes, a need
2. disabled-they already have social security and Medicaid- do these programs need fixing?
3. self-employed-these are a group that have options now, but need affordable choices.
4. people who are healthy but have been refused private health coverage because of pre-existing conditions- this should be examined further...by insurers...and develop 'risk absorption' strategies, to cover these people

the current bill specifically DENIES illegal aliens from having the benefits of the public insurance plan.
To get the plan you must be a verified American citizen. This is why it insists on an insurance card issued to anyone participating in it.
