I read the book and while he sometimes is really polemic with this he has a point, over here in germany they want to reduce the amount of money given to unemployed (one guy at the FDP wants that is) people to compensate the tax cuts they are planning for if they win the election in fall and this is really like spitting on those who are at the low end of the social system.

this doesn't actually criticise modern american christianity - it criticises supply side economics, and its application by the Republican government - how it is essentially promotes inequality and injustice.

It does criticize the so-called "religious-right" and the republican party due to their close ties to it; The video does this by emphasising the difference between the message that mainstream Christian conservatives put forth and the teachings and example that are supposed to have been presented by Jesus of Nazareth.

Furthermore, the video does an excellent job, in a tongue-and-cheek way, of demonstrating to us our utter failure in taking the lessons of history to heart... like the Romans.
