  • i like the video they made i think they did a good job

  • Oh God, I love this song *--*'

  • If your teacher had any taste in theatre and had any respect for the awesomeness of The WHO...she woulda given you a -Z

    No hard feelings :)

  • It's only teenage wasteland.

  • wheres the video for this with like airplanes getting shot down in the beggining?

  • Oh, I see the Bully is Daltrey xD

  • Ok. This is gay-er than twilight.

  • so what there gay lovers? his soul mate? and also just awful acting :D thank you goodnight

  • As an actor you are a very good carpenter.

  • May I assume, that ur not the most popular persons in ur school?

  • This kid deserves to get bullied.

  • Is this about two dweebs or gay lovers finding each other in the cruel world of liberal arts education? Ironically, in my construction world, the bully is the only one who might last a day on the job.

  • great audio

  • you are fucking dumb as fuck to take a great song like this and attach a stupid video like this to it. it might be how you understood the meaning of it but you were really wrong and should be executed...sincerely Cpl hamil USMC

  • @hamilbwusmc Yeah ok. Just because the kid made a video of his own interpretation doesn't mean fuck tards like you have the right to jump all over his back. That's the beauty of music - a million people will interpret 1 song a million different ways.

  • @hamilbwusmc execution might be a little harsh?

  • I think Roger Daltrey would understand the sentiment of this and fully approve. Thumbs Up!!!!

  • And The Academy Award goes to: NOT you, not even if you were the only person on earth.... no offence....

  • You all are wrong...This video is based on the feelings vegeta got when his scouter read that goku' power level was over 9000!!!

  • @TheDc316 No it was when the Ginu Force helped Freeza to collect my Dragon Balls but one of them was a fake so Freeza got upset and took a Vacodin to calm down.

  • omg this is gay...nothing to do with the real point of the song

  • It's about the Irish wife preparing her teen son And daughter, Vietnam n the 19 yr olds who Died for their meals. Every teen who asks for no forgiveness. And a Teen who Finally, thankfully brought drugs into HS , shared with her favorite Mates....til they were wasted enough to deal with this whole horrific history of teens in the world.

  • Comment removed

  • I see why your in Theater 1 You are such a beginner this is a start though...

  • What is a waste is to try to establish a meaning... your renouncing to make it your own.

  • whatever you guys are arguing about this song is the best

  • 1:21 epic fail at trying to be badass

  • am i the only on who doesn't get this? O_O..

  • wat the the who would hate this big disapointment ........

  • Excellent, Incredible!! Reminded me of school and a guy who became my best friend, Daniel. Thanks Daniel !! High School would have been just about unbearable without your friendship.

  • Ohh,let's play nicely. Lyrics are Subjectively Interpretive.Different words stick for diff. people. UNLESS the Author of lyrics has given you a detailed, honest answer as to their meaning. One can't say mng. with 100% certainty. The sound quality is top notch-Well Done.Artists MAKE lyrics Inscrutible to leave us challenged and Debating! It could be about strife/struggle of teens.Fits for 19yr olds in Nam.TRULY,It's abt. TnGirl, took LSD,left on tongue n Kissed herwhole class,n they were AllWASTED

  • jerryhend1 and Zangarine you guys are both wrong. The song was origionaly going to be used for a project that Townshend had going at the time but they used it in their album Who's next after the project was scrapped. It's about an Irish man and his wife and two kids preparing for an exodus from Ireland to England.

  • @ZachmLewis wrong where do you jerks get this bullshit baba oreily was an american marine killed may10th 1969 in the ashua valley in nam was a freinf of the band but we had to many booys so he was called baba i know you fuckups cause while you were in diapers i was fighting in nam maybe you were just a blowjob your mom should have spit down the sink

  • fail, then again this is ur interpretation of the song. still fail

  • 3:13 Please ladies, contain your orgasms

  • @beatles2233 ah man i lold when i saw your comment

  • That's just overacting.

  • I love watching that guy be a dick to that kid

  • Zangarine: This song has nothing to do with Vietnam or any war, it was written long, long after the war and has nothing to do with it,,, it has to do with high-school and college life or about the mods and etc.... so get your head out of the tie die crap and into real life,,,, if you can......

  • @jerryhend1 you are so so wrong you preschool loser fanboy douchebag

  • british mod all the way

  • odd, but yes, an interesting interpretation. good to see the youth have an appreciation for folks like the the who, who helped shaped history.

    is the who still relevant?

  • @bartcummins no what a jerk baba oreilly and other who songs lead into the csi shows a milion commercials and is still the number one song ever written so shut your hole sit back and just listen douche

  • Good video!!! :)

  • SKITTLES!!!!!!

  • thumbs up for the thumbs up guy!

  • this is funny. nice camera work. funny acting... but not a bad video overall

  • It's a good job, there has been many versions of this, heck Leno had it played when teens did stupid things on the show, the opening of CSI NY

  • Such an exciting opening.

  • dude

    that is cool

nice intepretation of a timeless song

  • if that kid pushed me or kicked me, ect.....

i would've shanked him in the balls and shaved that ridiculous hair of

    his FREAKIN HEAD!!!!!

then kick his ass and shove his head of his ass

  • @gamecatcher99 i think you got some issuse

i would see someone if i were you

  • instead of theater. take acting

  • i though this was about vegas in the first pART OF THE SONG

  • Oh just because it didn't go along with meaning The Who wrote it as it doesn't mean that they can't change the meaning so don't put them down just because you think it sucks. I bet if the band saw it they would think its funny so get your head out of your but and start laughing because it is funny. Good job for making the video PattyC10.

  • good luck to the lads, a nice little vid.

  • Comment removed

  • I loved it you guys made me laugh!

  • Not bad. A little to fake before 2:30, but after its great.

    Love the jacket.

  • For anyone interested in pursuing a little taste of what Townsend had in mind for Lifehouse, he released a live DVD with the London Phil. Orchestra containing many songs that would have been on Lifehouse, including Baba O'rielly, which of course did appear on Who's Next, the Whos finest studio record imo.

  • LOL...Fantastic Man and what a gr8 song choice, Pure Rock'n'Roll....Cool, Congrats!!!!!

  • He almost looked like he was crying xd what a smile... nice vid and awesome music!

    ; )

  • The Who-project that got away, was actually called: Lifehouse. Not Lighthouse. :-)

It's an intriguing concept. You can find more info easily on the Net.

  • this is a joke right?

  • WTF, this is so strange......

  • Another very cool teen song to check out from the same period, although not as famous, but just as good is called "17" by the band Jethro Tull.

  • 3:38 fqil. your punching the air

  • lol i did the same exact thing for my class

  • ive heard (idont belive its right) but anyw3ay i heard its about a guru whose name was ...baba and the influence for the song ... oriley

  • Why does that guy sit on you and spaz out at 3.34?

  • It´s about whatever you like and it´s marvelous.

  • 3:36 FAIL!!!!

  • nice man'

  • Where do you go to high school, pattyC10?

  • not really coherent with the song, it's about living on the street, doing drugs, being wasted. not about high school but about being a teenager on the streets

  • are u stupid? this song is about Vietnam and the teens who were drafted and 'fought for their meals' and were 'out here in the fields'. Baba O'Riley was their friend who got wasted away in 'Nam. And this is an INTERPRETATION. He can do it however he pleases.

  • It is about a self-sufficient, drop-out family group farming in a remote part of Scotland who decide to return South to investigate rumours of a subversive concert event that promises to shake and wake up apathetic, fearful British society.

  • @Zangarine WTF? why the fuck would The Who give a shit about Vietnam you dumb shit? they were English! They were probably laughing - like the rest of the world - at the well equipped Americans getting owned by some jungle retard with an old uzi.

    U R A SPASTIC!!!

  • @MrPink023 Cause they were good people. The English were actually involved in Vietnam because of NATO. They were against the Communism, and they sent us backup. We may still have gotten our asses beat, but they did help us.

  • @Zangarine At any point when you were inventing this story did you stop and think "I wonder if anyone will actually research this" or were you just blissfully ignorant to the fact that every person who reads this will have the power of the internet at their fingertips?

  • @Zangarine

aaaaaa, i didn't knew that^^, but then who is sally?

  • @Zangarine No, no no.

Baba O'riley is a combination of 2 names

  • @fraghawk42 ya, a First name, and a LAST name.

    you don't make any sense!

    AND HE'S RIGHT!!!

  • @Zangarine I accidently put a thumbs up on your comment, but then I did some research as I was interested by the origins of this song

You are wrong, my good sir.

The songs name is derived from two names

Meher Baba, who was Pete Townshend's spiritual guru Terry Riley was an experimental musician Townshend admired.

It was written for their rock opera Lifehouse,

  • @PyewPyew

by "did some research" you mean you checked wikipedia?

    :-D

dont think i'm judge ppl who use wikipedia, i myself am too lazy to check anything else than what's on wiki

  • @Icko92Man

haha, damn straight, wikipedia all the way haha

  • @Zangarine there is no person bab o'riley, it's actually two of pete's freinds Meher Baba and Terry Riley, neither of which were in 'Nam with Townshend

  • @Zangarine That's the beauty of music, and indeed art. Each person interprets it to their life. Not yours. Artistic elitism only makes you look like a egotistical, self righteous moron.

What means one thing to me, will mean another to someone else. And both will be right.

  • @Zangarine,

Meher Baba Meher Baba and Terry Riley both workt on this song, that explanes the name!

Its a true Vietnam song, thats right!

  • @Zangarine Are you stupid or do you just appear that way?

  • @Zangarine dude it was written for lifehouse man. not vietnam.

  • Actually none of you are correct in the true meaning of the song. The true explaination of the song is too long to put into several comments so i will sum it up. Baba O'Riley was originally written for Townshends "Lighthouse project" which was to be a rock opera following the 1969 "Tommy" Opera. The song was originated based on several experimental recordings that he made on his organ. The Lighthouse Project was scrapped, and many of songs (including Baba O'Riley) were released on "Who's Next"

  • Also, the term "Baba O'Riley came from two individuals that the Who met. One was Meher Baba, an Indian mystic that inspired the song. Townshend wanted to use a synthesizer to tell the "Life Story" of Baba. Also, the Violin solo at the end of the song was based on Indian classical music as homage to Baba. The rhythem of the synthensizer track was based on the work of composer Terry Riley. Both of the names were included in the song by Townshend as a tribute to the two men.

  • If you want to find out more information about the background of the song, or the background of the failed lighthouse project, you can simply do a Google or Yahoo search on the song. I hope i have cleared up several things about the meaning of the song.

  • 3:13

    FEAR

  • hahahahahaha!!!

  • this isnt real

... i no its not supposed to be im just helping others

  • its like one of those teen movies from like the 80s

  • Man, that reminded me of.......ME!!!!!

Always bullied in school. I was a classic DORK. Great video and great message in it. KEEP IT UP!!!!!

  • awesome

  • Well, these things always look better with a better camera mounted on a tripod. A little cheapo digital grading. Varying shots up, getting different perspectives, points of view, focusing on different subjects. Generally, a little surrealism can make a music video really fun to watch. 4 stars for a good effort. :D

  • epic song for an epic series!

  • it sucks

  • At least they tryed

  • Lol, wow. Good job. Pretty funny.

  • Its not as bad as people are sayin but that doesn't mean it's good either
