  • I am an Agnostic Equalist Liberal.. Im totally loving mewithoutyou...

  • I listened through every mewithoutyou song today to pick a favorite. this one.

  • I'm a polygamist morman muslim catholic, but mewithoutYou is my favorite band in existence

  • I love this

  • I wish everyone would STFU no one care's what you believe or don't believe that's your business enjoy the music.. Religion, Politic is something private you keep to yourself don't spread hate just STFU and enjoy or MOVE ON!!! Talking about it makes the world and ugly place.. as long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else NO ONE CARES!!!

  • @HumboldtFiend Their music and lyrics are probably only in existence because of their religious passion. I'm not religious, so I don't necessarily agree with the ideas (but I don't really disagree either). But the passion in both the music and the words touches me. Its all so beautiful, and I've been in love with it since I first heard it. And I can't get enough.

  • UNBELIEAVABLY GENIOUS.

  • omg..this video is brilliant.

  • that shit is hard..to make

  • Why is the lady at the beginning playing minecraft?

  • Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean that you are a crazy person that talks to themselves and reads the bible 5 hours a day or goes to church every sunday. A lot of Christian organizations like church and other groups have become cult like and it scares me. If you don't follow their group practices in any way or have any other belief in your own Christianity, you go to hell. It doesn't work like that. You have your OWN relationship with God, there's no right or wrong way to believe.

  • As much as I admire mewithoutYou as artists, this video disappoints me. I get how it relates to the song; however, the song evokes mental visuals FAR from what's shown here (for me anyway). I find this video distracts from the power of the song's sound and lyrics.

  • I'm an atheist anarchist, and i'm loving mewithoutYou cause i don't believe that you have to agree with the lyrics or the bands beliefs to love it..

  • @fraekkerten that comment made me really happy. thanks.

    :]

  • @fraekkerten I'm Christian and I agree with you. People just need to relax and enjoy the music.

  • @fraekkerten THANK YOU!

  • @fraekkerten, Im an Agnostic and I completely agree. The uniqueness and imagery painted by their music and lyrics is wonderful and I can listen to them all day for that.

  • Religion is a means of finding meaning in a otherwise meaningless existence. We all do it one way or another, through religion, philosophy, science, projection to other planes of existence, all these otherworldly desires are just our way of coping with the fact that we are just animals living on a planet that would not be missed by the universe if we vanished tomorrow. So stop the hate, everyone finds meaning differently. How about we just enjoy life and right now, this song.

  • The video is really cool

  • this vid is my ish

  • I love Tooth n Nail Records..they ruled the nineties, but were not approved by the..Guys in Suits..the controllers of music playlists..censorship in other words.

  • I'm not into religion at all, just kick ass tunes and having fun.

  • A beautiful, talented & unique band that KICK ASS regardless

  • Phew she saved the kangaroos! Btw I love this song.

  • the song and message are both beautiful. a wonderful example of what a christian should be. everybody struggles, as you can hear evident in aaron's wailing chants.. i'm not a christian. not even sure, i'm a believer. but this music makes me feel that something about existence is indeed divine..

  • i'm an atheist and i love this band, religion doesn't matter, it's all about the music and message for me.

  • does it honestly really matter what religion a band is, if the music's great?

  • I know this has nothing to do with the song or video. But they have the best name a band could ever get.

  • When I satisfied each need invented by my eyes...

  • Disaster Tourism blastin,,,,what a trip and what a great group.....BLESSED 4 REAL.......Maranatha......

  • @sheltershed Listening to it now and then just decided to look up the video haha.

    I like the song though.

  • mewithoutyou doesn't have to label themselves as anything. nobody does..i believe in jesus christ as my savior but i don't feel any need to call myself a christian..it's those labels we put on ourselves that limit us from experiencing all god has for us..none the less these guys are very humble characters and i hope the best for their future music indevours...

  • lol all the people who are so concerned if they are christian or not, would you care so much if they were black, or gay, or just about anything else!? :S

  • LOVE

  • Comment removed

  • That seems quite strange to me, because in this, they had Noah's Ark. Then is "Messes of Men", they had in the end, you cant miss it, "Lord I can never show you anything as beautiful as you!" But as Tylowylo12321 has said, as they said, they do not label themselves as a christian band, but they have lyrics indicating christianity. Hmmmmm.....

  • @LSkate41 Watch the interview with Aaron where he says himself that he doesn't like to clarify themselves as a Christian band, because it doesn't seem like a christian thing to do at all. Remember, he's just a guy all about forgiveness.

  • what an amazingly artistic video! i love it

  • seeing as that the moon stays sharp and knowing is better then thinking. is the better thing to wrong... murder... high ryms.... father clouds...mother winds... son of thunder. can one or more person breack the seems of the worlds lies... if one or more song sings... is it load... can a cloud be proud of its darkness. mayb if the only reason to live is to feal... we could all stay at one pace.... so many lifes so much time..... wasted because of us....

  • why did the arc sink?

  • You know, religion has never been something I've put much thought into, but this band is still really good.

Is it possible to just like the music without really caring where the music comes from?

  • @dorkrockcorkrod

I do like the music, but I like it in spite of the source of their inspiration for it. I would rather it be drawn from reality.

  • @picturemebowlin They are a really amazing band! But the reality is this, people are going to believe in what they choose. Even when it seems like absolute absurdity. Nothing that anyone can present as evidence matters, no matter what one believes in, it is always a matter of faith!

  • @CygnusX1981

No, the reality is this: Most people believe the things they do because of a combination of influences from their parents, friends, the books they read, and most of all, their place of birth. There is a growing substantial minority though that overcome their surroundings and challenge themselves to not be chained to the beliefs they have inherited.

  • i exist there for god dose as well becouse we cant exist unless something made us... religion is foolish but GOD is not religion he is truth

  • Comment removed

  • Still with the faith arguments

  • love this song, and the majority of their catalog. but it does ruin it a bit for me knowing this band is made up of a bunch admittedly intelligent, albeit ignorant jesus freaks.

  • its obvious these people as a band are spiritual, and if you met or knew these people, you'd know they werent trying to 'sell' Jesus and werent all preachy and damning everyone and everything. Isnt that ignorant to say they are ignorant, just because of their honest faith?

  • @carbonxdating

I completely agree that they aren't trying to sell Jesus. I have nothing against them as people, just their misguided beliefs. Their faith may be honest and it clearly gives them fantastic inspiration, but it is also built upon lies perpetuated by ignorance and arrogance. Imagine what we could accomplish as a society if brilliant minds weren't lost to the dead weight of religion.

  • Dear "angelwhite,"

You claim you deny the existence of God, yet you have a Biblical reference in your name. How does that make sense to you?

I reported you as spam because no one wants to hear your negativity towards our faith.

It's nice to have opinions, but if you feel compelled to deny what we believe in, feel free to enjoy yourself on an athiest blog.

    Good Day.

  • @xSARAHTHEDINOSAURx If you only listen to one side of a story, then all your doing is brainwashing yourself. Angelwhite doesn't believe in God and is telling us why, so we should listen, and tell her our side if we disagree with hers. We shouldn't send a hateful message telling her to leave just because we have a different opinion.

  • u don't know the half of love if u don't know God

  • shuttup

  • @zZWURSTYZz , hey my friend learned about that religion at my school's world religion class haha

  • @drippingbeauty how condescending of you sir

  • @drippingbeauty for someone who loves God so much, you have a horny-ass sn.

  • @drippingbeauty so you mean love for god? love for the wealthiest group of people in the world who use their wealth to say a few special words and rituals to save you and the whole of humanity? great job saving every single starving kid in africa or the rapped chidren by high catholic priests... Religion is the biggest excuse to control the general population, It gives you a set of rules to follow so you don't have to think for yourself, nor think at all, all u have to do love god and obey...

  • @drippingbeauty "you don't know love if don't know God." fix'd.

  • @evenlir "Believing in god is just another way of saying, "I'm scared of death don't hurt me" "

    Fucking beta.

  • @drippingbeauty god does not exist... quite clearly.

  • @drippingbeauty "God" is love.

  • @drippingbeauty nice OPINION you have there. let's all respect it, even if we disagree.

  • As I ride through the city on my fixed gear I play this at max volume on my ipod.. I marvel at GODS creations and lift my hands in his holy name!!! People stare and I smile.. I hope in me they see JESUS CHRIST!!! I hope GOD continues to use me as a tool in his kingdom on Earth and in HEAVEN.. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! I can't imagine mewithoutyou JESUS!

  • LOVE is my religion...

anyone want to hate me for it?

  • I wish people didn't use Youtube as a place to insult other people and push beliefs on them.

So what if they are Christian or not? Does that affect their performance at all?

  • @ZomgRobot Maybe not. But it effects the message they send out in their music.

  • @ZomgRobot While I do agree with this statement for most bands, as I'm atheist and see good music as good music regardless of musician's belief, I kind of like laughing at the christian statements on this. Do you think the people bragging about them being another Christian band would stop listening if they found out that's actually 2 Jews and 1 Muslim?

  • @mynamesaretakenwtf lol im agnostic and it is funny how they throw around christianity, when half of this is islamic. the singer and guitarist were raised muslim

  • @dus0 I thought it was the other way around. Fact is, yes, there songs do have elements of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. As well as any fancy pancy bit of literature they can. Also, can we all come to terms and remember, Jesus was a Jew, and Muhammad was a Jew. It all comes from different extremist sects of the same people that were lead by Moses to freedom from slavery. I'm even going to guess that it doesn't start off at judaism.

  • @ZomgRobot I am sure you are a talented person but Jesus is the biggest and will be the best rock star ever! He thinks you're cool ZomgRobot

  • @ZomgRobot yes lol if they weren't christian they wouldn't have such deep lyrics.

  • If you have to have seen some particular interview to determine that the capital 'Y' in "You" is a reference to their god, then it is in no way blatant, which means "completely obvious".

  • A capital Y in "You" is not a blatant reference to Christianity. Even if we decide it is blatantly theistic (which I don't think you could say without the aid of their lyrics), there are still many religions to choose from, so how do you get from "You" to "Christian God" ?

  • When you write God you capitalize the G 'you' is at the end of the sentence, if you will and it is capitalized. just figured it out myself.

  • @angelwhite See: A Stick, a Carrot, and A String by mewithoutYou. The song is all about Jesus.

  • @mkwyatt12 I don't doubt that, I was responding to justinstereo who said "Their name is a blatant reference to Christianity.."

  • How many, if any, times does it say that homosexuality is wrong in the Bible. For me that's a part of why I'm not christian anymore. I'm not gay either, it just it seems to go against the general message of love your neighbor as yourself.

  • @jlaw666 read, Leviticus 20:13; If a man has sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman, the two of them have committed an abomination. They must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.

God made it pretty clear about how he feels about homosexuals. The whole idea of two persons of the same sex marrying is absurd, unsound, ridiculously unreasonable. A clergyman might bless a homosexual marriage but God won't.

  • so Jesus didn't personally say gays are bad? And like just because it says that in Leviticus that god says it's wrong, who's getting the message from god? Whoever wrote that book could have just said god doesn't approve of this because they didn't personally...

  • Whoever wrote the books with Jesus in them could have also just written that Jesus said whatever it alleges. Notice the huge gaps in time between when he was supposed to exist, and when the books were written (about 40 years).

Also, he explicitly yields to OT law several times, ie Matthew 5:18-19

  • you'll be hard pressed to find a historian that denies that Jesus existed as a person. so please dont say "supposedly existed". and the reason Jesus would yield to old testament law is because old testament law was still in effect until Jesus was crucified and the sacrifice was made. And what you say about the biblical authors is true and the same could be said about bible translators, but thats where faith comes into play. I believe God can protect the divinity and truth of His word.

  • I say "supposedly existed" because the only evidence that he existed comes from the Bible, and was written several generations after he died by people several times removed. The Bible also has a bad track record when it comes to plausible historical events, ie the exodus, and the flood, and it further posits things which contradict nature, ie raising the dead. Additionally, a number of key elements to the Jesus story are almost certainly false, such as the birth census, and the crucifixion.

  • Also, I think you should read the verses, it is more than "it's in effect until I die so I'll yield to it" he flat out says it will be valid until the world ends. Mt 5:18-19a "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven"

  • send me links to your proof of the false elements of the jesus story. and there are two sets of old testament laws. moral laws which are the ten commandments, after jesus' death the ten commandments are still in effect as christian law. then there were purity laws such as sacrifice, specific food preparations, etc. (laws that jews follow that chirstians dont) the purity laws were no longer in effect after his death. so in those verses he is referring to the ten commandments.

  • This means that if you do not kill gay people, as davidilll1 pointed out that Leviticus commands, then you are breaking the commandments and will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

As far as the Biblical god protecting the divinity and truth of his word, it seems difficult to reconcile considering there are verses which directly contradict each other, and Christians cannot agree on which interpretation is correct. ie david quotes the OT, but you suggest it is no longer "in effect".

  • nowhere in the 10 commandments does it say to kill gay people. and i am saying the ten commandments are the christian law in effect today. you misunderstand the relationship between the new and old testaments. and show me a religion where all of its constituents are in 100% agreement. and the beaty of this religion is that if you do break the law. you are forgiven. we need only try to live a life like jesus. surely you can look at the life of jesus even as a story and say he was a good man.

  • Christ say's "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Read on and you realize what Christ is saying, he is to fulfill the Law with his blood, he has come to pay the price, because alone, man cannot keep the law, the 10 commandments we cannot keep, even murder, Christ say's [in regards to murder] "anyone who is angry with his brother is susceptible to judgment" By law we are dead, through Christ we are alive.

  • You said it yourself, he did not come to abolish the laws. You are obligated to keep the laws, and the laws command you to kill gay people.

That, or you are saying that it isn't possible to always keep the law, therefore you shouldn't try to keep the law, which, as I pointed out, means you will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

That, or we quit making excuses for the Bible, and choose to live healthy positive lives because we can and we don't need a book to tell us otherwise.

  • The laws command us to kill gay people?

    No,

    ACTUALLY

the Bible says that a man who lies with a man or a woman with a woman shall surely be put to death.

There's no indication of "us" (people) killing a homosexual person in that portion of scripture. In actuality, a quick read of Exodus (where a lot of the law is given) will tell you that "we" (people) are not to murder.

We as wicked individuals, Christian or not (I'm as wicked as you, as anyone else) have not the right to judge.

  • It says "They must be put to death", who did you think was doing the killing?

I'm not sure where you got Exodus, which is mostly a story about leaving Egypt (an event that commences with the slaughter of the firstborn (10th plague, passover, see ch 11&12)), it may be easier to defend than Leviticus, a book laying out the laws. But it doesn't hold anyway: Exodus 32:27, 21:15, 35:1-2, 22:18, 19:12-13, 31:14-15 For non-murder Biblical abominations: 21:20-21, 21:2-9, 20:5, 12:29-30, 4:21-23

  • God, on the other hand, is the judge. And the offer of salvation is as accessable to you as it is to me,

it's offered to every person on the earth, every homosexual included.

A lot of "Christians" seem to deem homosexual people as inhuman, but they are people, too. They're sinners just as I am. The only difference between a Christian and a homosexual, and ultimately, any sinner, is that the Christian has turned his life to God and reaped the gnarly rewards, and the homosexual hasn't.

  • @angelwhite and everyone else

Jesus talks about a new covenant that is through him, because Israel screwed up the first one so bad in the Old Testament..

Not saying we should discount the OT, but most of it was not meant to be taken literally, its sort of an overall picture of God relating to His people

  • @dsid1127

First of all, I'm not even convinced "Jesus" was a real, living person. He never wrote anything and the earliest NT documents weren't written until at least 50-60 years after he was supposedly crucified. 2000 years ago, that was at least 2 generations. You aren't saying we should discount the OT, but I am. The entire bible is nothing more than a book of Jewish fairy tales written in one of the most superstitious eras in human history.

  • @picturemebowlin

"bible is nothing more than a book of Jewish fairy tales written in one of the most superstitious eras in human history. "

I'm a catholic and kinda took that as an insult...there's many people here with different faiths and believes and you shouldn't judge it so rudely. If you disagree, well, that isn't really anyone's concern but shouldn't just insult one's religion, it's what they believe in and you shouldn't discourage that...

  • hahaha way to take out 3 religions in a single comment.

  • @picturemebowlin If only I had a dime for every time I heard some pseudo intellectual douche say ''the bible is nothing but fairy tales'' bla bla bla...

  • @Monty0699

If it is pseudo-intellectualism, then you should have no problem demonstrating otherwise. But of course, neither you nor anyone else can show the bible to be at all historically reliable. The reason people say it is nothing but fairy tales, is because it's the truth.

  • @picturemebowlin Actually you don't know that you are right either. Tell me what your proof is beyond any doubt that you are. You don't have anything to convince me other than what you believe. Why you need to come comment on the video of an obviously christian band just to insult people of their beliefs anyway is beyond me.

  • @Dlannin05

Exactly how would you like me to prove the nonexistent?

And I take exception to the idea that I came here to insult people. I haven't insulted anyone, just their strange beliefs. This is one of my favorite bands and songs and I think I have just as much right to comment on it. It's the internet, get over it.

  • @picturemebowlin

You just proved my point. Everything you have said is full on insults. Prove the nonexistant? Strannge beliefs. Their inspiration should be drawn from reality? The bible is nothing but fairy tales? I'm pretty sure everything you said their would be insulting to a christian.

  • @Dlannin05

In no way have I proved your point. I do not care that they would find it insulting. The definition of an insult is a rude expression intended to offend or hurt. I have not intended to do either, though that may have been the outcome.

  • @picturemebowlin

All I'm saying is that you want people to prove the bible is real? You can't prove that your point of view is the truth either other than what you believe. If you want to tell me you believe differently then fine I'll go with that, but unless you've been around since the beginning of time which I doubt you have, you don't know for sure what the truth is either.

  • @Dlannin05

There is a major distinction you are missing. My point of view is not based upon beliefs, but proof. You are correct that I am not sure how we got here, but science has figured out parts of it. I know things only as far as the evidence lends itself. I don't need to have been around since the beginning of time to know that Christianity presents an absurd proposition. The bible is not evidence of its truth anymore than the Quran is evidence of Islam's truth. They are both bullshit.

  • @Dlannin05 they are not a christian band, they have said they do not label themselves as a christian band, although all of them as far as i know do believe in christianity.

  • Comment removed

  • @dsid1127 isreal didn't "screw up" the old covenant, the old covenant was never designed to bring salvation, it was designed to show the total depravity of man and to point to the messiah as the key to salvation.

  • @ Jordan0wen:

you hit the nail directly on the head, bud.

  • Unreasonable? Hmm....Why do feel that it is an unreasonable idea?

  • That was the Old T estimate bro. I'm not a devout christian myself, but didn't God send his own son Jesus to save us from our sins? I could be wrong.

But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

    (Matthew 5:44,45)

  • It says nothing about hating those who are homosexual. It just says homosexuality is a sin. Hate the sin, love the sinner.

  • There is a huge gap between loving your neighbor and agreeing with the sins that they commit.

No where in the Bible are you instructed to hate those that sin (because face it, everyone sins).

You're to simply love as Jesus would love, with a love that never changes, no matter who you are.

  • thanks for the insight friendo

  • The Bible is not saying dont love these people at all! Its just some crazy radicals who dont know what there talking about and want to think they are better then others. We all sin and they believe that homosexuality is a sin. We all sin! its part of life. They are no better then any one else like we are no better then anyone else. Thats what i believe... all you need is love haha

Hope that is what your looking for.

  • nice, i like

  • i dont want to be called a christian. because it seems that the only opinion that people have of what a "christian" should be has nothing to do with Jesus. its only what a church has taught them. well. im not interested in what a church has to say. im gonna live by what Jesus said. cause. thats what he asks. like. if you read the bible. thats what he asks, to follow the word, and Jesus was the Living Word. so why follow what a church says, unless they say what the Bible does?

  • amen friend

  • @connoryeayea47 you know what the meaning of life is. beautiful stuff

  • Hebrews 10:23-32 get with a church that directly follows the word, just as you said.

  • Although I agree, we should not wear the title "Christian" as brand, I would like to say that we shouldn't denounce the name "Christian"

I believe that we should wear that name humbly and disgracefully so that the world will know that we are CHRISTIANS by our love and humility to the world just as Jesus lived.

  • @connoryeayea47 We are the Church "the building" is a meeting place

  • @connoryeayea47 Christian means Little Christ. argo living like christ (which everyone's goal set my Jesus) gives u the HONOR to call yourself a christian. few people are true christians and if you are one dont be ashamed to hold the title even if there are hypocrites all around us, you need to be the light..

as mewithoutYou says, u know better than to pay mind to what people and the Devil say...

    Kill.

  • @ELOSSLABEAR dude are you retarded?

  • @iluvbigdumpz no but i do hate candians so jump in front of a bus, guy.

  • Lol @ trofy. Get saved? Please. Just LOL.

  • Why has embedding disabled? I'd love to share this outside of youtube.

    But I can't.

  • that stinks.

  • I know D:

    Why?!

  • amazing band. amazing fucking video.

  • whoops Kensrue

  • i heard dustin kensure did the animation for them

  • they have to be christians because of a capital Y? you are correct in suggesting that the capital Y is a reference to God (capital G), but are there other faith systems that would refer to God, in the contect of a persoanl reference as "You"?

  • Comment removed

  • =P 'A stick, A carrot, and A string' if you haven't listened to it, listen to it, and if you still deny their not, then you know nothing about Christianity and shouldn't even be talking about this.(not ment as an insult, just simple truth)

  • most bands that people count as christian, Flyleaf, As I Lay Dying, Underoath, mewithoutYou, the entire group of people are christians, but they don't consider themselves a christian band, as much as just christians in a band. What you create and live should reflect what you believe in.

  • =P but if their point is sharing Christ(which is Flyleafs point) and their music represents the Christian faith(as many of mewithoutYou's songs do) they are generally a Christian band. Whether or not they concider themselves one. But thats not really important so I don't understand how this even came up.

  • awesome song

  • Yeah, for the Weiss brothers, their dad was a Jew and their mom was a Christian, and both parents converted to Sufism (Muslim spiritualism). The brother apparently converted to Christianity because they say as much, but they still have musical and lyrical influences, from the other religions in their past.

  • i think the video is having a little refrence to noahs ark. cause god called on him to build the ark and he went through that huge flood. so the balloon must be a sign as god sending help for him idk jsut my opinion

  • yupyup cant just have neone up on stage next to aaron and josh yelling about the devil lol

  • ALL TOOTH AND NAIL BANDS ARE CHRISTIAN. mewithoutyou norma jean the chariot blah blah and so on. but from what ive heard hes studied a few religions. and if you see them live they do have prayer circles and stuff like that. awesome guys.

  • you're wrong, jim. sorry, but you haven't been paying attention. frodus was MOST DEFINITELY not a christian band, and they were on t&n. further seems forever wasn't christian either. in fact, there have been more than a handful of bands on t&n that haven't been christian. brandon ebel said from the very beginning that they do not turn bands away just because they aren't christian, but they do have a christian focus. also, pedro the lion sure as shit ain't christian anymore, but that was post-t&n

  • of course, that's not to say mewithoutyou isn't christian. they very clearly are. and it's not as if i give a shit one way or the other, though. only christians care if a band is christian or not.

  • amen... I've listened to mwY since A-->B Life and I love everything they've done... and I'm an atheist... I just respect the music and the lyrics (aaron weiss can fucking write)

  • yeah he's definitely one of my favorite lyricists.

  • you should get saved :( ....im just saying (no hate)

  • @Umbrellaholder77 Rock on man. Yes he can. One of the best bands of our generation IMO.

  • I think that they just believe in Jesus Christ, and are religious... They don't necessarily have to have a certain name for what they believe in, Christian, Jewish, or otherwise.

  • Without intent to spark a religious debate: "Believing in Jesus Christ" is essentially Christianity. Apparently they don't label themselves as Christian... likely because it's a turnoff to some people. And who knows, this band could help someone come to Christ.

  • I agree with willywave, there are too many references made to Jesus in their songs to dismiss their Christian faith as a form of neo-Judaism or some kind of mysticism. Even on their new album, a stick, a carrot and string is all about baby Jesus in the stable and how sinners can come to Him (Jesus) and be saved...definately not a Jewish belief. Not that we (me or anybody) can speak on behalf of their personal beliefs but it seems like he's promoting Christ in his songwriting at least.

  • but in the song.... dang i totally forgot the name, well it says, "Jesus forgive us..." so i mean that definatly is pointing to Jesus, haha but JBrazosCole is very correct. oh and in dang i also forgot the name of this one it says, "Christ when your ready to come back, well im ready for you to come back..." so thats definatly not Jewish, ya dig?

  • Noah? Maybe?

  • i don't think aaron is looking for anyone's stamp of approval in his christian faith. i've noticed a trend of people nitpicking christian artists who don't conform with traditional christian music. the music shouldn't be by christians, for christians. it should be by us, for God, and for EVERYONE.

  • love love love the video.

its original & cute with its animation.

  • Dang, I love these guys. All of their songs are incredible. This one has a kind of Minus the Bear sound or something to it, and it's addicting. Haha.

  • The "You" most definitely does mean God, but that fact does not make them a "Christian" band. Their lyrics point to having a relationship with God, but not necessarily a relationship with Jesus Christ which is the back bone of true Christianity. They explore other themes such as sufi and judeo-christian. In fact most of the bible references are from the Old Testament which predates Christianity.

  • oh yea true

  • Yeah, but God and Jesus are the same. Yeah, it's hard to understand, but sometimes there are things we can't comprehend.

  • if you say that he's not Christian

who do you think the "You" is in the band name?

  • he was raised sufi wasnt he? i love me some mewithoutYOU

  • haha wow some people are stupid

he's a Christian he says it in a lot of his interview, dont be lazy, look it up once in a while, dag yo

  • shut stupid ill bomb you

  • that's great?

  • hes a christian, he quotes the bible and says he tries to be a like jesus.

i think he just has a fascination with the middle east.

  • no he is a sufi hes only christian influenced. plus he gives praise to the stars and the sun and think god has a feminine aspect.

  • I can understand the feminine aspect theres nothing wrong with that.

where did he say he gives praise to the stars and the sun?
