  • is this show recorded on an archive somewhere?

  • Im curious, is the bass drum a Pearl 1967 vintage Pink Pearl color? I have a set.

  • @320chick I have that same kit and mine is a '68. Is your pearl logo silver or gold? From what I've read the gold logo was a '67 and the silver was a '68 and I think they only made that finish in '68. But if you have any info I don't know I'd love to hear it. I can't find much about those drums and if you found a better dating system let me know! Mine is 18" Bass Drum, 13" Rack Tom and a 16" Floor Tom. I'm assuming it came as a 5 piece and the 12" inch tom was lost. PM me with any info!!

  • i had a 2 hour lesson / HANG with matt in seattle @ donn bennets drum shop !

changed my life ! i've been a huge fan since his days with edie brickell . what a fuckin' groove !

i remember reading in m.d. where matt had a really bad experience studying at north texas state . alot of great drummers have gone / go there . killin' readers . i think he said ,he was inspired , but overwhemed by the competitive ( jock -like) mentaliity of the students . it really got to him. look at him now !

  • I could watch Chamberlain slam these kinds of backbeats all day. What style and placement he has. Wow.

  • @scottp118 yes that's it man! his backbeats and his placement... his technique gives him his sound... poogie bell and steve gadd ave this placement too... i think :) He is THE session drummer of the decade... and what a sound!

  • just awesome! did you get to meet matt after?

  • Matt's got unbelievable phrasing . . .

  • awesome.
