Someone please help me understand this raag. Particularly after 6:20, she has used both the Gandhar's and both Dhaiwat's. I thought Charukeshi only includes Shudhha Gandhar and komal Dhaiwat. Is this a wakri raag?

That's why it is called Mishra Charukesi probably. Kaushiki is an embodiment of music. And she came to enthrall this earth. Such devotion, dedication, clarity and ease of voice I never heard. Kaushiki, yug yug jiyo !

This is more than just music. I fell in love with Kaushiki when I saw her sing Madhuvanti in Paris, 2006. Not every music brings tears to your eyes. Bach's Goldberg variations also pierce my heart.

What a performance! I cry every time I listen to this bandish. She has an amazing gift of expressing the emotions through music. It is truly a God's gift which very few people in the world have. I am a thumri singer - I know how difficult it is to sing so naturally with so much ease - singing is as natural for her as breathing.
