Hotpoint commissioned two models, both based on the Zanussi S-series machines.

These two models were the 1823 'Liberator C' and 1826 'Liberator' and both were sold alongside the 1828, which was a pure Hotpoint machine.

Hotpoint had capacity to make one front loader, but wanted a wider range so bought on the two Zanussi models, until they could expand their line up based on their own 1828.
