Not quite. There's large differences between the manga and the anime, like how she and Hamel didn't grow up together, manga!Hamel is a complete asshole and dresses her up to dance for change and throws her at enemies like a missile. At first she's a little whiny, but a lot of crap happens pretty quickly and she gets less pathetic and a lot more confident in herself and eveyone else.
I don't know if I'm reading a manga or watching an anime. These freeze frames are driving me insane >.< I can't catch the essence of whatever they're doing.
I'll still watch it though, the story is good. x.x
