after youve done the swirly dipping bit how do you get the high gloss finish so nice? do you top coat with some clear lacquer product then buff/polish untill your happy as ive just stripped my pacifica1221 down to the wood not sure what to do next...

@MICKEYISLOWD  I put a bit of danish oil on it and she played like a dream, lol the screws also hurt access to the highest frets, but you can work around them.

@JgHaverty That was polyester, and I would advise against it unless you love sanding and polishing glass for a hobby? Yes it's that hard almost, not fun.

@MICKEYISLOWD Hi Mickey, if you have never cleared before I suggest you clear coat a panel and then try to polish it as ruining your guitar paint work is easy.useing the wrong stuff, put too much on, put too little on, put it on too quick, rub down areas unevenly giving you a halo effect there are so many way to get it wrong, so get a good clear coat, test the shit out of it Spray cans are worthless, 1st get a air fed mask as getting the stuff into your lungs in way easier than getting it out.

howw do you get the polyurethane so damn perfect? i've built many guitars and have been unable to get mine anywhere close to as good as that

@PrsnlVendeta This is Polyester not PU and I had help from a good friend otherwise this would have looked a lot different. When I say help I mean technical help I did the work myself and it took hours, too long TBH and no one believes me when I tell them how long it took me, they should try flatting a small 1 foot square panel they would be there for EVER. It's from Doug Aldrich's (from Whitesnake) solo album, it's a track called "Midnight Sun" it always says at the end, so more people can here his mad playing, If you don't have the Burning Rain Albums then you are missing some great stuff there.

Cheers man, I know Ibanez are aware of my stuff but Darren and Steve Vai go way back so if Ibanez want anything swirled they will go to Darren first, everytime, Lots of people tried very hard to find Darren for 6 years to no avail, but Ibanez found him again, so I missed out. Such is life. Maybe I will never get to swirl for Ibanez or any other major guitar company who knows, swirl art it's very subjective. Thanks again for your great comment and you Have A Good One.

he body was an ebay purchase years ago, but I stripped it to bare wood re primed it, added a Jem handle, swirled and clear coated this guitar myself. And thanks for the comment.
