  • O plus Jay Adams didn't want people to forget the REAL reason skateboarding was made for, to have fun not to make money and not have fun doing it and he didn't take it as serious as Stacey, thats why he's amazing and also bc he's awesome at what he loves!

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll..................SKATE SKATE SKATE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Yea Jay !!!

  • God bless you Jay. Although I quit skating over 30 years ago, I still feel the Zboy influence on my surfing.

  • is there any old school skate teams any more

  • song name please?

  • amazing

  • Jimmy Page inspired me to start playing guitar

Jay Adams inspired me to start skating

  • my name is josh barboza great video nd sick song :)))

  • without a doubt the best skater from the Z-Boys

  • in all fairnous he fell into drugs and spent life in and out of prison but yet theres some douch here sayin that he is rich? yeah since he came off dope he turned his life around but before that he was as broke as shit and a junkie his life is as sad as hell but fair play for turning it around and making a difference the original menace to society

  • i like skateboarding

  • @33eastern

Lords of Dogtown was BASED on the life of the Z-Boys but was a dramatized version. if you wanna learn what really happened, pick up the documentary Dogtown and the Z-Boys.

Anyways, what I'm saying is that Jay Adams never went through all the shit that he did in the movie. He did get in trouble with drugs and stuff but he didn't have money problems. He's rich. He walks the red carpet and he has a huge Hawaiian house on the shore where he surfs and skates every day.

  • @riariases Well now ofcourse he has money .... but during that time all of them were mostly poor specially Jay he even said on the documentary " i needed too help my mom pay for the rent"

  • Tony Alva RuleZZ

  • yeah I was there for all of it Jay was the man then he suddenly fanished popoing up every now and then I wish his older friends would of stood by him better but who knows

  • damn i wish i grew up in the 70s

  • FUCK HEROIN

  • @juansimonpiera it wasnt strong enough to break this man down

  • @juansimonpiera I agree, but what jay recently go out of jail for was smuggling meth into hawaii

  • his really good lol

  • jay adams is awesome

  • It seems like he's using a ripstick

  • my respect for jboy was formed in the 70's

i had his pics on my walls, and when i skated it was a style he inspired

i still skate surfstyle just about every day at my local, i'm 47

maybe there's some things i don't know about jay and that's why i still respect him, hard to say

    but you know what?

there's definitely some shit i've done that i wouldn't want him to know about

nuf respect for the man who once was a boy

    ~lox

  • he was my favorite of the three

  • jay wasn't rich, jay didn't have fame or a stable life but he did have his skateboard and dogtown and that was all he needed

  • You know nothing. He didn't give nothing up, he expects everything to be handed to him because of his talent. I could write a book as I know the whole real story, I grew up with all the Z Boys. Who's the 12 year old here? Certainly not me.

  • @LAwoman1956 well then write the book.....

  • cool jay es cool!!! for ever....

  • he was hot!!

  • I'm 13 years old and I think jay is the best skater in the world I loved dogtown and z boyz too

  • that song is a big ass DDDrrraaaggg!!!

  • screw tony hawk! JAY ADAMS!

  • So much respect for Jay Adams. He didn't give a shit about the fame or the money, he just wanted to have fun. some people forget why they started skating in the first place

  • @scottfilmer Nothing wrong with wanting fame or money!!!!

  • @MrDarkmarius Yeah it's called vanity! Me I live in the moment, feelin' good in that moment in time. All the other shit about my future is for people like u to figure out. Money is not my GOD!

  • @1968624 Then I hope money is something you can live without because you will. I've known well over 100 good friends during my life & without failure any of them that talk like you are without money. They have that worried look on their faces & don't have time to do the things they want to do because they are too busy trying to survive. Your God with be the heavy burden of work at low pay my friend. . .

  • @scottfilmer amen

  • @scottfilmer why do you know that ?!

  • @aftakid Why do I know what bro?

  • @scottfilmer why do you know that he give a shit about the fame or the money... ?

  • Comment removed

  • @scottfilmer ya man

  • @scottfilmer AKA ryan shcekler, he skates for the glory, $, and fame

  • Valga me dios D: todo una leyenda para mi Jay Adams es mejor que Tony hawk

  • this is skateboard

  • Freedom lingers in the heart of man kind, skating gave me freedom to express my love for life. and Jay helped me fall in love with it in the 1970's. we all need to thank this man because he truly gave his heart to which he Loved.

  • Stacey and Tony got all the fame.

When Jay was better than all of them

  • jay adams was my hero as a young skater in london in the 70's

  • good song

  • Style isn't everything....he needs to learn how to treat people right. And I speak from experience with Jay. I know them all and know all the back stories. He chose his path, don't feel sorry for him, please.

  • @LAwoman1956 Thats cool you know them but is Jay a real jerk?

  • @LAwoman1956 He does treat people right. He gave up everything he had to help his mom. He doesn't need the approval of little 12 year olds.

  • i dont give a fuck right jay adams has ahad a fucked up life ahe is the one who deserves the fame not egotistica T.A

  • @mightykaibosh223 daman straight, stacy peralta did however revolutionize sk8in and i respect him alot for it. That film lords of dogtown was sick but overdramatized evrythin a shit load, tony alva is almost a piss take howeva

  • fuck bam margera man, your pussy, jay adams, are the pure skater, skate with your soul, not for fucking money.

  • e cara ele e foda mesmoooo !

  • Bam is not ignrorent ! check out Elementality!

  • the best

  • is Jay still in prison?? We should raise funds to install a bowl from him to skate in there

  • this guy sucks, check out Bam Magara,Hes the best on Element!

  • @XXXGLOCXXX YOURA AN IDIOT POSER

  • @XXXGLOCXXX You are too ignorant to even consider correcting.

  • @XXXGLOCXXX hahahaha too ignorant

  • I was born in the wrong decade. This is awesome. <3

  • Jay was pure...

  • Jay Adams is the heart of skating and Alva is the brain.

  • Im 18, and i basically look at Jay as the heart in skateboarding. I don't like the fact that skateboarding now is abunch of assholes using it as a style and fad when they have no heart for it. I'm a bowl skater, i skate Black Label decks and i just love them. I skate becouse it's a freedom, and love and a passion. It's what gets me away from the troubles i go through in life. All i can say is, skate for freedom not for style and money. Teach others and don't be an asshole. Stay thrash my friends

  • @trollingdouche stfu u fuckin homo

  • Watching Dogtown as I write. My 16 yr old knows the dialogue off by heart. Best film ever, best life lived...............

    Thankyou Z Boys x

  • these old videos make me nostalgic for when I was a kid looking through thrasher mags at the grocery store in Chicago. California dreaming about how cool these guys made something as "simple" as riding a skateboard look and inspired me to be the person I am today.

If I had the opportunity I would personally thank each of these guys for paving the way for the lifestyle Ive been living since I was 11.

  • Skater since 76 checking in. Jay is legend

  • I am 15 years old, can I still learn how to skate?

  • @CPaulo1996 yep you can definitely learn! I'm 14 and have only been skating a few months and I love it! It's very easy once you get the hang of it, but it does require some practice. But let me tell ya once you get on that board for the very first time you'll be hooked. It's very addicting (which is a good thing!). Everybody falls and that's okay just remember to wear a helmet!

  • @CPaulo1996 ofcourse you can! age is just a number :)

  • im 3 and i like rock and skateboarding

  • what is the name of this song ?

  • @HeyJack321

God Gave Me You, I think, by Frijid Pink. Not absolutely sure about the band but I've found it before on this site byname alone.

  • man yo im 16 now and ive been skating for 3 years i recently got my hand on a old school skateboard a free former skate board and just using it and cruising it hitting up hills just gives it a whole new feeling i never had carving is something u cant do on a regular board but bring old school back is my goal

  • bring back the old skating style

  • i saw him in my local gym and had no idea who he was he askded me for help on how to get the tread mill to work

  • that song is?

  • @theerueckonee The song is god gave me you by Frijid Pink bro

  • @abemartinjohn than's broh!

  • Fuck! Jay Adams is the shit!

  • i hate how skaters turn against one another because of their style

its about freedom, not about bitching, backstabbing and posing

  • @sirshrimpsworthy "I skate, I just love to skate"- Rodney Mullen

  • @sirshrimpsworthy Righteous words Dude

  • @sirshrimpsworthy thanks to them and whatever happened back then is the reason skate is the way it is today....

  • pretty fuckin lame.. i saw nothing that inspired me as a skater or gave me any motivation to skate.. this was just lame all the way.. when i wanna see real oldschool action and style i go watch the early vids of mullen and vallely. specially mullen defined real skateboarding with his sick perfectly mastered oldschool moves. in that vid here i see no oldschool, i see stoneage skateboarding from times when there was no skill around at all.

  • @pnQuw You're a piece of scum, dude. Plain and simple. You obviously have no respect for style, the guys who paved the way and made skateboarding what it is today, which only tells me you have no fucking idea what you're talking about when is comes to skateboarding. Split and watch Ryan Sheckler or something, we don't need you here.

Jay Adams - 100% SKATEBOARDER FOR LIFE

  • @pnQuw your an idiot! jay adams and all of the Z-Boys inspired skaters such as vallely and mullen!!!

i mean... Jay adams Skated befor mullen was even born!!!

and if you like Vallely than you should know that Skateboarding was NEVER about the skills!!!

your better off quiting skateboarding......... cause you are no Skateboarder!

  • @pnQuw How can you say that lol, your SO retarded, Jay adams started the whole thing hes the "original seed" so fuck you prick

  • @pnQuw where the fuck do you come and disrespect a legend if the zboys werent around im sure that skateboarding wouldnt have been an amazing sport as it is now, show some respect

  • @pnQuw wow stellar bro...please post the vids of your awesome talents for us.K?

  • old school all the way!

  • fuck haters, old school for life, i ride a jay adams z-flex, since i could ballance, its the way to skate, the feeling you get carving down a huge hill, wind in your hair, nothing else matters, im 15 skating is my way of life, i skate j-boy style !

  • why do people comment with their life story

  • lets boycott trick skating. everybody needs to cruise, the sound of hard weels going down a bumby hill is like nails on a chalk board

  • Yea Jay was the best out of all of them.

  • jay's life was pretty sad in my opinion. after watching lords of dogtown. i mean he turned away from the fame, he had to help his mom, he got into tons of drugs and shit...

  • @33eastern He chose to turn down fame because he liked the freedom of skateboarding, and the outlaw nature of it. He didn't want it to be like a job. He did have small sponsors so he could use the money to help pay rent but that was as far as he went. He did have offers from big companies.

  • @33eastern you should watch dogtown and z boys its a documentary it has the real guys interviewed and it has their skating its pretty rad.

  • @33eastern fuck you jay is one of the most inspiring people that has ever been in my life.

  • @NorthShoreAllDayLong shut the fuck up you prick. im not talking shit im just saying what happened.

  • @33eastern that move changed my life

  • @33eastern Thats life. Taking wrong decisions happens to all of us, maybe not to you yet but still they will come. Thing is to learn of them, jay now lives quite well, he's just on dope and has enough money to live.

  • @33eastern Thats not sad. That the realist shit someone like you could never understand. Keep watching Tony Hawk skate vids you fag.

  • @Tevujin Holy shit dude. Don't freak out. The guy even says how disappointed he is with his life in interviews. He was a great skater and it's sad that he couldn't be a bit more well known for it.

  • @clockwork1493 He is known by people who should know him.

  • @33eastern yep, but still the best movie ever :D

  • @33eastern u saw lords of dogtown and think you know him

  • Comment removed

  • I love him the mostt.

  • I wish this video never ended

  • I tried skateboarding, didn't like it. Felt like there was no real Soul or history behind it.

So i made my own first longboard. 95cm. (Hung it on a wall)

Longboarding is living. It's being alive!

  • Life is fucking amazing whenever you put a deck up, and takin a blaze noir drinking some beer! :)

  • Old school decks ride so much better than modern skated decks %100

  • jay adams knew how to live. he was prolly sayin "Fuck the world ima go skate in a pool because its fun i dont need no competitions just to get money and noticed ima do what i love all day everydaY"

  • had a big stack the other day but nothing stops me from continuing to ride

  • this is what got me started

  • i was born in the wrong time im12 born in 98 long live hendrix zboys forever=}

  • @SeanOelke Dude, im 25yrs old....and feel the same as you! Long live Jay and Hendrix....Skate scene today is wet compared to these guys! Style is everything Bro

  • Jay is the best of the world ......

  • miss u jay

  • Jay Adams is undeniably rad--an innovator and a legend. That said, this is the gayest song ever.

  • and those wheels he rides are like 63/65mm. cadillacs back then i think only came in like 56mm.

  • i dont think those are cadillacs.ive only seen cadillacs in the yellowish color and clear red. i have a zflex board with midtracks and metro retro wheels and i would get speed wobbles goin that fast.

  • no the wheels was cadilac wheels so you can find it in any skate store

  • How does he not get speed wobbles when going down that road?!

  • @CALI49ers the only thing i can think of is because of the wheels they used, they're different than wheels for modern skateboards.

  • jay adams was the best of them! as the other z-boys said: "Jay should have had it all".

everytime i watch jay adams skate, it get the "go out and skate" feeling. I'm 16 and i don't have the chance to skate everyday because i live in Finland. But people also made fun of me riding and making a bunch of bert slides and power slides on ditches because they did not understand what skateboarding really is. To me skateboarding is the style and what i like to do... go out and do what you love !!
