Can our loved ones in spirit hear us when we talk to them?

If one can communicate with spirits cant they just ask the spirit where exactly they are what happened when they died? Is there a god? And then everyone would know right?

I always wanted to believe that my deceased love one still hears me and is watching over me. The book Lovely Bones, although fiction, gave me hope and some assurance that this was true. I still need to personally experience this psychic medium bond to totally believe!
