  • I enjoy all of your and Richard's tutorials. Just wondering if you know of any way of combining this dynamic text method with animation in Blender. Regards.

  • @shoopinoz Thanks for the note. What kind of animation were you thinking of for dynamic text?

  • @bitsofblender

Many thanks for your reply. I suppose I was curious as to whether it's possible to render the results in any way - as far as I can see there's no IPO curve created. I wondered if, say, you could render a message appearing, changing, disappearing. I think you can do this in a more long-winded way by adding and editing a text object, but I was wondering if this would be quicker. Regards

  • @shoopinoz This example was for realtime text, so it was being rendered in realtime while the Blender Game Engine was playing.

    Thank you

  • Hello John, How are ya? I'm Adrian, an inventor from Belize, Central America. I was hoping you could help me with a current project I'm working on? I need assistance with doing a cross section animation in blender (2.49) . I have a model of a device I animated but I need to show the inner workings. Do you have any suggestions on how I might be able to do this? I'm still learning blender at the moment so I'm a bit of a newbie.

    awaiting your response

  • @adrianwaight If you have a working model already, you could do a boolean on it to cut it in half. If that doesn't work, rebuild it from scratch as half a model to show the insides. Also, it's better to post questions that do not pertain to the video at blenderartists(dot)org/forum, there is a very active community of users there.

  • Really nice video dudes. Your videos have really helped me in the past, so I was wondering if you could help me with this one.

I seem to be having a bit of trouble with a piece of animation I'm trying to create. I want my character to pick up an object like a tennis ball or a baseball bat for example. I have know idea how to do this in Blender. Can you help me or refer me to someone who can.

    Usmanater

  • @usmanater Glad we can help! If you ever have questions, the forum at blenderartists(dot)org is very helpful. Regarding picking something up, Roland Hess has a good tutorial at harkyman(dot)com (click the Tutorial category). YouTube won't let me post the full link.

  • @bitsofblender Thanks for the help buddy

  • Thaks!

  • Slow tutorial - 3mins in and and just getting into the reason why I clicked the link...EUMB (eating up my bandwidth)

...too be reallly nasty - true Graphic Designers never use Comic sans font, ever.

Otherwise the info that is contained here is important to know... so WD on that.

  • @ehmpeters Sorry you didn't like it. It should get into it around 1min. I chose Comic Sans on purpose because I do BoB for fun.

i went straight to cartoon smart and got your second life/ blender package that u show at the start of the video, i have been wanting to learn projection painting for a while, now i can do for real, thanks a lot! awesome stuff, it really is exciting the possibilities of what can be done with it.

  • @GPEART1 Thanks! I hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think. The projection painting implementation in Blender is really useful. I tried to capture the workflow for using it by using 4 different source images to create a UV (painting right on the model).

  • @bitsofblender

    what do i think?

    It's theBomb!

    'nuff said!

p.s. I will be re- watching until the workflow is drilled into my head, thanks, it really

is too good! It would be good to see a human head painted using this method on a high poly or normal mapped head/human, which is what i'm working on.At least i'm off to a great start now! T his was one of the "hard" blender techniques (like nodes/compositor), but now i get it, thanks.

  • @GPEART1 Cool, thanks! I've used this technique on a head, it's the same workflow.

  • @bitsofblender - I do like the tut but I am a student, both financial and time poor, having to pay for my bandwidth use on the fly. Personally I would prefer a fast tutorial that got to the point sooner rather than later....but please do continue to make them. It is because of people like you we all owe our livelihoods.

  • really helpful thanx

  • @somy3d You're welcome :-)

  • Love your tutorials!

  • @dudewithweirdhair Thanks!
