  • Java VS Javascript, whats the diff?

  • @AutomatonGames "Two completely different things" quote from W3Schools, XD

  • @AutomatonGames JavaScript is for web development and is like a mix of HTML and Java. Java can make .exe's while Javascript is for websites.

  • @AutomatonGames Why are you watching Intermediate Java tutorials if you didn't know there's a difference between Java and JavaScript.

  • @HomicidaMortis No moron, I wasnt saying "there is no difference", I was asking WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE. I know now. I had never seen javascript since until then.

  • Or you could use addMouseMotionListener(this).

  • Mr. Roberts in order to accept you in this great company you gonna have to refuse on selling your knowledge freely over the internet.

  • "i will try to send to microsoft so they can take me as lead programmer for oval drawing"

omg i cant stop laughing xD

  • i skipped from the normal tutorials to this to see if u could do anything good, and i was like O.O

  • I've made those 3 classes exactly as u did, but cannot get it working. When I try to run this all i get is: Selection doesnt contain an applet. Could u gimme a hand on this?

  • setDefaultCloseOperation is there because sometimes you want to hit x but not quit the program so you can create new windows and stuff like that

  • microsoft will never take you coz you dont put bugs in ur programs

  • @SunnyRoxTV Haha! He should maybe mail it to Apple instead ;)

  • setDefaultCloseOperation is put there so you can do additional stuff when the window is closed. for example save files, if you implemented an editor.

  • note to self:

Clicking on a scroll bar on the IDE in a youtube video will not let you look up the page a bit to remind yourself what he did just now.

No matter how many times you do it.

  • xception: java.lang.ClassFormatError: Incompatible magic value 218774561

  • You didnt take multithreading anywhere. Can we have one appended in list?

  • thanks man..

  • good job bucky.

Hope there are more intermediates to come. fine programming but putting it all together will be useful - packages, interfaces and deploying etc. I know some of that is not programming but what is the use programming if it can not be turned into something that solves real world problems i.e installing and running the app.

  • Hi man. Just have to say once more, great tutorials.

I know you're a busy guy and all, but it would really be great if you could continue with the Java tutorials. They're gold worth. Awesome of you to do them - and we want more. ;)

Specifically on applets, because they have an unique ability to... well... be shared, so to speak.

Thanks in advance, and, once again, great tutorials!

  • Netbeans is being a pain in the a.. again.

    w.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); gives 'cannot find symbol'.

    Why ???

  • which symbol?

  • @KingofTehInternets I usually do setDefaultCloseOperation(3);

JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE is simply a final integer returning 3.

  • I completely lost it when I heard there was someone sitting on the slider, while he was chilling, talking to me. Thats some weird stuff man.

    Anyway, great tutorials mate =)
