Windows Vista isn't even that bad. It may not be better than 7. But it's definitely a *decent* upgrade if you want to upgrade from xp.

It's just weird how some people go as far as calling Vista a piece of crap when it's actually a pretty convenient & functional OS. Does it have flaws? Yes. But a lot of things have flaws. You'd be surprised to know there are people who actually loathe Windows 7... and for reasons I don't even know.

Ultimately, it's a matter of opinion, I s'pose.

I've used ubuntu, slackware and arch linux, im going to toy with g-os soon but I'm just so tired of people going on and on about linux and how great it is when its really no better then xp, the only way it COULD be better than any of the os's is if you were a fucking linux guru. It's not practical for every day use. if I'm working, I'd rather know where everything is and how to fix everything quickly instead of mucking around with sudo and terminals. Ubuntu was okay I guess though.

No you have to format your HDD but you can make a backup on your saved games and other more importat stuff.

and then when installing win7 i would suggest making a new partition just for windows 7 so that the next time you change your OS you just have to format the OS and installed programs.
