  • @AllychanOneechan yeah they dont move because they can not. when they cant handle too big rooms how do you think they life when they are free?

in WINTER they dont need much room. and for example my snakes are very bussy sometimes. and my you should watch snakes a little bit more and dont put them in little white boxes. then you might know a little bit more about them.

do you have snakes? do you like them? may you think about if you really handle them like they are need to.

  • that would be crazy it your building fell apart thousands of snakes would be running around and go out in the wild

  • I didnt kno something like this could happen to you guys... im really sorry about that huge disaster and i kno its gonna take a really long time to repair but you guys cant give up. • `my disater was at school i was doing work and everything was kinda shaking then it stoped then my gym teacher came and she was like ``did you feel it was an after shock from an earthqack in quebec``

  • Biggest disaster I've experienced was an ice storm that tore down trees and a huge branch ripped a corner off of our roof... And we had no electricity for a week.

  • I spent 8 mins of my life watching this shut in hopes of seeing someone getting bitten by a snake...

  • the craziest diaster that i was in was when it was raining alot and there was alot of thunder and lighning i was at school when it was realy bad so we had lock down at my school and some lighting hit1 of our buildings i was just watching family guy on my ipod so i could calm my self down and this girl that always acts tuf was crieng haha she always acts tuf haha true story

  • that fuckin sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • My ex-wife literally set my 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 on fire, it was completely destroyed. She was eventually caught and charged she recieved 6 years.

  • one scar thing that happened to me is i was at a friends house and a tornado hit. I ran out to my car to roll the windows up and was running back when a huge tree fell down across the path. 10 FEET AWAY!!!!!... not a huge disaster but it just happened a week ago so its still on my mind. sorry about what happened with you guys =(

  • The most craziest thing that happened to me is when we moved into our new house and we were all settled in and just over night ants came in and ate my 3 adult breeder leos, a high yellow , an albino and hypo tangerine. All they left were the bones and a little skin man they take everything off reall fast. They also almost killed my ball pythons, normals, but they are still worth a lot to me. So if you ever move to a new house fumigate it first because you never now what will come in. I Hate ants

  • the craziest disaster??? prob this year when i was helping my sister get ready for her outdoor wedding and there was a HUGE tornado...except when i say huge i mean tiny. thats y i hate living in michigan, one second the wether is persect and the next you're hiding away in your basement

  • me and my brother, sister, mom and dad went to dollar general, and we were walking out and it started pooring down rain to the point that the cars were floating down the street

  • My worst snake disaster happened yesterday. My first ever Reptile (I'm 14) , a Florida Ribbon Snake, died in front of me. He had scale rot, and despite aggressive treatment, never really got better, and at some point also contracted a respiratory infection. He just started slipping away, no matter what I did. It was so sad because he was such an awesome pet. He was alert and so lively, but he handled beautifully... never bit me, never musked, nothing. My whole family loved him, and he's missed.

  • i went 2 texas for a vacation... and after we had eatin dinner and some clouds rolled in... and once ot got later in the day at nite we were driving through 2 huricanes and 3 tornadoes.... im not kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im sorry for what happned to you guys :(

  • i killed all my sisters fish onn accident when i was little by turning up the heat and making the water boil, i remember because my sister hit me until i broke my arm and let me tell you i learned my lesson even at 2

  • I work at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park as a sales clerk ( I hope to get into the bird or herp department at the zoo some day). While I was in one of the shops, the biggest earthquake I ever felt hit, and I was loaded on caffine. When the earthquake hit I was leaning on a counter and out of no where the counter starts shaking violently, I seriously thought I was having a seizure. The earthquake lasted a good 2 minutes. I think that was in April, in Baja California. It measured at 7.2

  • Oh man! I moved to california from a Ohio (Toledo area) about 3 years ago. My whole family is back there in Ohio and they went through all of that, thankfully nothing happened to any of their homes, but there was a lot of damage. I feel for all of you on the Snake Bytes team! I am so happy to hear all your reptiles are okay.

  • OMG I'm so sorry :'(

  • hey july 15 is my b-day

  • Are y'all near south carolina cuz if u r I would to stop by I luv snakes

  • Thank god all the animals were good!!! Just keep on keepin' on guys!!

  • They got insurance..........The money is taken care of the rest is just hard work to get it back to where it was......

  • The craziest disaster I've experienced was when my family and I were all sleeping

when a tornado hit. My pets wouldn't eat for 2 days. The good side is that nothing was damaged, and everybody's stuff was ruined. Oh well

  • Kel's QOTW: Fargo flood of '09.... If you didn't see any footage of it. Look it up. We got hit with an epic porportion of water filling up our river to 40.5 feet past the normal level. It shut the whole town down, and luckily, my home and job were in the safe spots in town. So my job let us leave work to go volunteer and sandbag. It really brought the entire area together. In fact, there was so many people coming from all over (even from out of state) that they had to turn down volunteers.

  • Thank goodness for insurance!

  • This was Effin depressing, after watchin all this episodes then see this was jus not a happy time :(

    Hopefully things are looking up.

  • My house went up in flames before my eyes just over a year now and i lost my female albino corn, she was about 6 feet i loved that thing hardest was taking her out of her tank after it went through the water from the fire fighters, wich then froze...horror story but. shes in a better place now. R.I.P Microbe.

  • you fool, jezez it's a business. Why would somebody keep all those snakes in their home? Is education in Europe really that poor?

  • shit....... but it would not happen if u guys in the us start to build real houses...... wich u the best

  • glad all the animals are ok Brian. When i was a kid we had a hurricane and it was scarey, We lost all our pine trees and had lots of roof damage. man it was scarey!

  • i was at a christian camp in tennessee and i was in the middle of rock climbing when mother nature decided to rain so i was stuck trying to get off the side of a mountain about fifty foot up. but thats not the worst disaster thats ever happened to me

  • the worst thing that ever happend to 2 of my ball pythons. I had a pastel and a lavendar albino in the same tank and my nephew and brother came over. My nephew was running around the house like a maniac and he accidently knocked over the tank and everything went forward. They both died

  • D: oh man. that sucks. I feel sorry for you. really.

  • 1997 tornado that crashed threw downtown Miami, well I had my corn snake. He was in my hands. tornado sirens went off. and I had a reptile collection in closet so I was jammed in there with all the reptiles plus all my family! I lost about 3 snakes. I watched them be thrown agaisnt the wall. all my corn snakes were killed...

  • when i was little a huricane hit where i was.all the lights went off and one of the bedroom windows shattered into pieces.i never thought that would happen.

  • feel 4 u dude. when your that addicted to snakes, they things just kill u, i would know, sorry

  • the biggest disaster for me was very sad, I have over 50 reptiles and then about ten of them were in my room and there was a tornado and all my reptiles died and too this day i will never keep a reptile in my room again

  • dammmmmmmmmmmmmm unlucky dude

  • that's terrible!!

I feel so sorry for you.. I hope it's all okay by now again :)

  • Glad all the snakes were ok.

I was in a crazy disaster as a kid. 22 years ago edmonton alberta canada had "Black Friday" It was in july and was a huge tornado that touched down multiple times. It wiped out a trailer park and killed 27 people. I was 10 and remember being in the car and watching the big black funnel cloud float over. It was a veru scary day.

  • awesome boss being able to keep your cool in a situation like this.

  • wow that really sucks!!!

but i do got to point out wow that water dude guy didn't know how lucky he was to be there!!! he didn't want anything to do wit the snakes!!! what a shame!

  • hey bhb so sorry to hear about this disarster

  • The craziest disaster that ever happened to me was in 1993, we had a fierce wind storm! The cherry tree in our front yard came tumbling down and blocked our front door. The door stayed trapped like that for a week! Funny thing was about a year before I had a dream that my sis and I were trapped in the house and the wind was blowing fiercely and all of a sudden we had trees all falling down into our house and we were running for our lives!

  • u should move to cameron park in CA no bad storms

  • Microburst. I also drove near a tornado (I didn't see it!)

  • man that sucks

last year a flood ruint my house and we had to stay in a camper all summer til it got rebuilt and on july 4th this year my house burnt down but i grabbed my snakes on the way out and were about to start rebuilding so i know it sucks

  • man it broke my heart wen i saw this video i hope u guys get back on your feet im really sorry about that good luck guys

  • I'm sorry about what happened to the shop, I know you guys can get back on your feet.

I have a barn where we ride horses, about 3 years ago, the barn caught fire and all but one of the horses survived. Over 22 horses were killed and seeing them carried by construction was devastating. When it was rebuilt part of the indoor arena was also torn off by a tornado about a year ago. Crazy!

  • i hope u and your snakes have a good life poor house

  • This wasn't something that happened to me, but to a friend instead.

He is a herpetologist (on the side) and had about 160 reptiles in his house. One day when they went out of town for a few days his house caught fire, and he lost all but 3 of his animals and most of his belongings.

  • yikes, that must hav been expensive

  • Yeah, but luckily everyone donated animals from their collection to him, and he's already rebuilt it. :) It's not the same, but he's not animal-less any more..

  • While me and my family were out of town a hose on the back of our washing machine exploded and filled our house with 3 feet of water. We had to live in a Holiday Inn for 2 months while the house was fixed.

  • 0_0,And i think that at school when there is lightening and thunder, hell this makes it look like a picnic!

  • ;_; This is very very sad.

  • i have to say the ice storm last winter here in the Northeast was pretty bad, no power and sub zero temps were pretty awful. especially when to keep your collection alive you have to bag them up and stay in bed with them

  • Hopefully you guys are doing better, If you need help raising donations for improvements I would be happy to help. I live in San Diego, big city. Better luck to you guys, and hey just remember that we all get a bad hand delt hear and there, but you guys got your bad hand and are good for years to come!

  • Hey Brian really sorry to hear about what happened to your collection.

the craziest disaster I was ever in was at the airport there was a huge storm the windows were shattered by flying debris the Entire roof was lifted of of the airport and a plane went down ON TOP of the airport amazingly no one was seriously hurt.

  • the worst disaster that i been threw was a house fire i jumped out of a 15 foot window and i spent 3 days in the hospital saddly my animals didnt make it but i tried but it was just to late but yeaaa :(

  • The craziest diaster of my life was i was on vacation in florida and tropical storm fay hit us unexpectedly and it sucked couldnt do anything we wanted to do for a week

  • i used to live out on a ranch and i saw a huge storm coming so my dad and i rushed outside and made sure our cows were safe and before we could get back to the truck the storm hit and it was crazy i was literally thrown back due to the wind and the rain hiting your face felt like a huge crowd just coming and slapping u.

  • Hey guys!! Sorry to here about everything that happend. The worst thing that i have gone through would probably also have to a tornado. Where i live, tornadoes are very rare. But that day there was a tornado and i almost died. I was going to get my dog that was outside and there was a giant peice of wooed that was going through yard and was very close to hitting me. And i know what you guys are going through. Peace and Love.

  • Also, after writing that, it made me think- where I live, I can walk dead south from my house for 2 min. and hit the Sound; 15 takes me to the gulf. What will happen when the next hurricane hits- I'll have to take my pets with me! My pythons, my rat snake, bearded dragon, three turtles, and what about my Parrot Cichlids, Sunfish, and fig.8 Puffer?

  • I live in one of those old, 60-something year old concrete houses here in NW Florida... when Ivan hit, we just boarded up the windows and holed up in my parents' room. I stayed with the dogs under their bed, and slept through the whole thing.

    5 AM.

Dad wakes me up. I go outside with him; we're in the eye of the storm. The powerlines are buzzing, the wind is howling, and everything was surreal and beautiful. Of course, I'm no morning person. "Dad, can I go back to sleep?"

  • HOLEY SHIT!!!

  • holly crap i hope u guy r doing ok o and woo thats a relief that no animals were hurt thank goodness!!!!! : )

  • Hey! Brian hopping to see you guys at the National Reptile Breeders Expo 2009 in Daytona Beach... see ya there!!

  • a blizzard storm :S

  • Thanks for making my comment the comment of the week! Its a shame it couldn't have been on a video that was a little less "disastrous"!

    Sam

  • Once a tree fell on my house during a bad snow storm :-\

  • the baddest disaster iv been in is a tornado shingles were coming of the house

and our neighbors tree cracked an fell over

  • im in floirda and when a hurricane hit us our house flooded with 3 and a half feet of water! i woke up and stood up and i got eletricuted really badly.. i couldent walk for 3 months... my pets were all on shelves though so they were okay(=

  • hey you guys rock!! i just started watching your show. im sorry about your building...im just geting into snakes ive had a few ball pythons and now im geting a red tail boa!!

keep making your show and i will keep watching...hope this is the comment of the week lol

  • Im so sorry to hear about this! I hadn't been able to keep up with your videos the past few weeks and it just saddened me to watch this. Im so glad you, your wife, and everyone is ok!!!!!!

I'd say that the biggest hurricane ive ever been thru had to have been either Wilma or Katrina(or one of the ones around those storms..) Living in south florida is crazy during hurricane season :P.

  • haven't really had any major disaster in my life...the closest to anything even considerabley bad was when my parents got a divorce, which really wasn't a surprise or anything......

  • Sorry Kel, I can't answer your question because I just can't think of anything super terrible that has ever happened to me, but I am so glad that none of the animals were harmed, and I wish you luck in your reconstruction. I can only imagine what you and Lori must have been going through. Take care.

  • sorry for wat happened

but ive just hatched my flirst litter of corn snakes, gorogus of really healthy but im wondering do u leave the umbilical cord to go by itself or can u cut it yerself?????????

  • i made a fire behind my dads garage and threw a axe deoderant spray in it and it blew up and burned the garage down, he beat me unsensively XD

  • the worst for me had to be a flood. it was pouring rain and the water was 6 inches deep in the yard. i scrambled out to the barn and had to start movin chickens, peacocks, wallabies, and all my breeder rats. it was just a BIG mess!

  • I once shat myself. That was horrible. Real bad experience.

  • did any of the snakes die?

  • chin up,hope chewy saved those meal worms or his,you guys and gals ROCK!!!!!

  • i have a nood question for u. ball pythons (sp?) grow to about 4 to 5 feet the males right? i aws wondering which one ishouuld get, corn snake or a ball?

id love to be able to go out with the snake on very hot days.

id love both by my gf keeps freaking out thinking the ball with suffocate me lol no matter how stuipd i say that is lol.

but i still would love one. what do u think? corn or ball? n what i s a 4 foot viv ok for the ball if i go for it?

  • I'd definetly go for a corn, balls are lovely but they can be a bitch when it comes to feeding, and corn are much easier to look after, you dont need as precise humidity and tempretures, so if this is your 1st snake, I strongly recomend corns :D

  • oh and and 4 foot viv is plenty for a corn, balls tend to require a larger floor space even though they dont grow as big on average :)

  • We had a tornado come through our yard around three months ago. Lots of structural damage the same as you it appears. Sorry to hear about it, but I definitely know the feeling!

  • The craziest disaster ive experienced is when i came home and my furniture was missing including my 3000 dollar couch.........lol hahaha turns out my friends had a good laugh when i discovered it was a horrible april fools joke

  • thank god all you guys r ok especiall you and the snakes

  • Man I really hate that for you guys. Glad to hear the animals were all ok.

  • my favorate team is the one that works togather

  • me and my roomate both are snake owners. i have a young ball python and he has a full grown columbian red tail. we recently had a small disaster. the power went out in our building for nearly 12 hours. it was pretty choatic trying to keep our animals warm. they made it just fine and everything is ok. sorry to hear about the building. hope everything gets going back to normal soon. you guys rock

  • were any of the snakes injured?

  • no he said that at the end

  • ahhhhh man, I thought this was about snake bites. now i must go waste my time elsewhere

  • shit man, i hope you get everything fixed and back to normal. we had a storm rip through here(Toronto) the other week too it was pretty powerful. uprooted trees, downed power line posts, did quite a bit of damage.

  • How is that karma? [JohnEko] the snakes they produce are sold and held in small tubs temporarily, even if they were kept in those tubs all their lives [which people do including myself] it isnt a problem. as long as it is a suitable sized tub it can be better than a glass tank. Just because something is called a "snake tank" does'nt mean its the best caging for your snake. Tubs hold heat and humidity better than glass tanks. please think before you say something stupid like that.

  • Well if he keeps them there temporarily I guess you could say that's fine. But as for people who keep them in tubs there whole life... why don't you check out the average lifespan of a wild snake and a "tub snake". I am sure you will see how "stupid" I am then....

  • I would have to agree with hypnotixxz, as long as the reptile is in an appropriate sized tub, the tubs can actually be more healthy for the snake than a glass tank would, the correct humidity, which is hard to keep up with a glass tank helps the snake remain healthy and shed much easier, also it is much easier to maintain the correct temperature rather than fluctuating with the glass tank, which is unhealthy if the outside temperature fluctuates severely!

  • Oh ok then how are you getting UV light into these tubs? BTW, I didn't say tanks are better, I don't use tanks, I use enclosures....

  • @hypnotixxz Not only that dude snakes prefer enclosed spaces but yeah i know where you're coming from

  • @hypnotixxz i keep my ball python in a 50 gallon just because i am not a breeder and it suits me better but big tanks are worse at stressing them out, people do not realize that snakes dont move that much except to eat, warm up or cool down.

  • If i was in your state i'd go and help you although i am no professional

Are your snakes okay, and is you and everyone okay for that matter. things will be better.

Most unexpected thing i been in was actually (no joke) 9-11-01 my dad worked on Rector street, right in front of the WTC. i was across the river in school, and i see fire and smoke. it was really scary i lived in NY at the time in brooklyn right at the water so i saw everything

  • jesus fuckin' christ im sorry that happened to you brian-dont worry things will be back to normal in no time-good luck

  • one disaster recently i was in was when i took a dump and used too much Toilet Paper and it over flowed all over the floor. yikes!!! What a disaster.....

  • the biggest disaster i have had is i cant feed mice so i cant get one i no some eat fish but i want a bigger one

  • i would like to tell everyone i found my snake

  • hey brian what do you think about that new law that the government is tryin to pass about makin burmese pythons illegal? there reason is because of that one tradgedy but every animal kills things.............. what do you think?

  • yea becuase of that my mom made me give all my snakes away. wich sucked but i still have my black and white tegu and my nile moniter who is was more dangrous then my snakes lol hes a weapon.

  • are all the snakes ok? will prices of of the bhb snakes go up?

  • srry to hear brian, good luck, hope all is well

  • Man that sucks i hope everything is ok and you guys get back on your feet

  • Hey Brian maybe you can use this "disaster" as an excuse to expand your business just tell Lori this would be a good time tear down a couple walls make some rooms bigger, hey maybe even a new building all together just somthing small close buy lol good Luck :)

  • oh man that sucks big balls!!

  • the most unexpected thing that ever happened to me was when I went on a trip to bolivia and I saw a religious statue they told me that disrespecting it would bring you bad luck but me 9 years old at the timelaughed my ass off at it then "unexpectedly the car broke down in a little scary village the place looked like the village in resident evil 4

  • The most unexpected thing that happend to me is when we had a wind storm with 80-85 mph winds that blew over trees that knocked out our power for a week there was nothing in my house that work.

  • the most un expected thing that happend to me i stronge strom and made a tree fall on my house and broke the windowsit was crazy hope you get everything fixed.

  • cal ur rude forget your vacation help out lololololololololol

  • did any of ya animals get injerd?

  • I hope you have insurance and it covers all your damages...

  • well i think the worst disaster for me was last december when we got hit with a ice storm and we were without power for a week and the temps were like 20 degrees in the house by morning i lost my 3 yr old tegu and all my geckos and came real close to loseing my iggy and 2 of my burms and my 19 yr old redtail and beardie thankfully we had a friend with a wood stove that allowed us to bring the animals there to keep them warm

  • me and my ant were driving with my littel cousin and all of a sudden a car rams us in the back so hard i hit my head on the dash board so hard it bled but everyone eles was ok the guy who hit us took off though
