Even if this film isn't the highest quality, its still the best, there's such beauty in the fairy tale called Peter Pan...I'm just glad they were able to keep that beauty in the modernized Disney Fairies stories.

A. it makes me very aggrivated that people talk about tinkerbell. she is okay. peter pan is much more badass than she is.

b. i think they did okay with this movie. when i first watched it, i hated it because it wasn't the disney version and i guess i had such high expectations (probably set out to hate it before i even saw it). but then i tried to watch it again and i have to say, they did pretty well with it. i think there was something off about peter though. can't put my finger on it.

Bah, I "still" love Peter Pan and I'm not ashamed to admit it. There's actually so much to reflect on in that story... I say don't mind people who think they're smarter for not watching what they think is only kids' stuff, because they obviously haven't understood a thing. The simplest fairytales sometimes have deeper layers... Next time you get teased, remind those ignorants that the original play was meant for an adult audience. ;)

heh - they all sound older in the disney one. Peter sounds like a 13/14 year old just around the point of voice breaking whereas Jermey Sumpter makes him look about 10-11 for me

Yup, Bobby Driscoll would have been around 14 when he was the voice and live action model for Peter Pan. Disney dropped him after this, when his voice changed and he developed acne. Or in his words "they carried me on a satin pillow, then dumped me in the garbage." He succumbed to heroin addiction and petty crime after that and died alone on a mattress in an abandoned NYC tenement in 1968. He was buried in a pauper's grave.
