if you want software only, and live control, the two main ones are traktor dj and vdj. im learning on traktor, and i cant fault it, everything feels tight - just stick your hand over the bpm guides so you cant see em, and learn to beatmatch!

And it's ok , cause he does it live , if he makes a mistake , you will hear it. Hope you not angry at me for my comment , just my opinion about the fact does/ doesn't it be valide for the comp. But 5* on the mix , well done

I mean , you could have worked maybe 12 hours on this mix , it could have been saved and reworked for about 100 times. But the mix in itself is really awsome , really I mean it. MAybe one day there will be a competition for that sort of thing too. Then you'll win probably :)
Depends, at the end of the day, it only counts whats coming out of whatever technique you choose and how you succeed to please the crowd. I can understand your arguments tho
its nicely squenced but nah, i'm not keen on this, i dont really like mp3 dj and cd djs but i would perfer to see someone physically mix using some sort of turntable/cd player than rely on a computer to do it, but thats my opinion
cool stuff man! and that traktor mix too! but this just aint real-time mixing! you can do similar mix if you cut up tracks, fix bpms, burn them and mix with cd players!? it would look better, that's for shure;)
This is really nice and perfect mix of course since it's pre set into program first. Still really nice. When premixing with program one should then use other creativity to show skill like Kota with Ableton mixes.
Using professional mixing software is like the peak of cheating lol Creative mix nonetheless,hopefully eleskins creates different categories that accommodates for software DJ's, im guessing its justs a little too hard to manage everything for him right now.

Depends on how well versed you are in digital mixing / production :)
Ableton Live is very good,
Mixmeister is very good,
Traktor DJ Studio is better for live performances where u want full live control.
I dislike VDJ because it restricts me too much
