Iam thinking of trying of using 2 PNY VCQ600-PB Quadro 600 in SLI mode on a GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 with a intel i7 2600k. Wondering if anyone things trying the Quadro 600's in SLI is a good idea for video editing? Working on a low budget build.
@xrenube The Quadro series are made specifically for openGL rendering in all Creative Suite programs and many 3D based programs such as Autodesk Maya and Max.
Hii. I have a question. Plzz answer :). Im thinkin of buyin the ASUS G73 i7 920XM. With 8gb ram. But it doesnt have a nvidia card. Would i be able to buy the ASUS G73 i7 920XM and then take out the graphics card and replace it with a quadro CX ????
I have seen this features before, exactly the same features posted on the Nvidia website.
It seems that the effects with Quadro were cherry-picked. What about heavier, processor-intensive effects like Keylight or SA Color Finesse 2? Multiple layers overlapping with different modes? Frame blending with pixel motion and motion blur enabled? All of this--- can render RAM preview faster with Quadro??
I just bought a GTX 470 to speed up my AE CS4... was that a mistake? Should I have gone with a Quadro instead? The FX 1800 costs about as much as my 470 did.
@CollisionMax Depends. GTX 470 overall will be the better buy if you do anything else other than video editing. However, if you're ONLY doing video editing, then yes, you should have.
@SethiXzon hahahah... yea after using it I've found that it's pretty bad. I have two of them (one for each monitor) and regret getting rid of my GTX470.
@CollisionMax i think a quadro is always better than a gtx in premier or photoshop but with a gtx you can also play games and a quadro is not built for gaming...your decision
@Dreadlockyx Well I officially have some meaningful usage data for you guys. I've been using 2Qty FX 1800s (one per monitor) and then have a separate system that uses a GTX 470 (just one monitor). The memory quantity alone on the 470 out performed the FX card since my OpenGL previewing performance increased. Overall it's just a smoother user experience with the 470. However, my colleague has the FX 3800 and it seems to be as good if not a tad better than the 470. Price makes a difference too.
@CollisionMax for apps like AE a quad core cpu with a 9600GT would be much more helpful but if you already had a quad core then need more then 4 GB of ram and if u have all that then last thing u can get a SSD but just saying GPU wont help too much but if u have the cpu ram and ssd and still not satisfied then i guess you can get a new GPU I have a GTX 470 use it for games and Folding Keep on Folding
@1800Supreme Well I'm running a dual core Xeon and it sucks (though at the time I thought it would make more sense). I'm running two 7200rpm drives in RAID0 but would love to grab an SSD. I have one on my home machine and it is amazing. It's so cool how folding actually helps the scientific community... like we're all mini-scientists.
im planning to buy Quadro card (maybe FX 1800) but i need more reviews.. because that OpenGL feature is also have in GTX 260...so whats the different of the OpenGL in geforce and Quadro?
The hardware of the 2 are the same, their difference is in their firmware. Quadro prioritises precision whereas Geforce prioritises speed. During a graphic intensive process, Geforce, which is designed for gaming, would try to produce the image w/ faster speed but less accuracy. Quadro works the other way round and gives u higher accuracy.
I don't see any difference in Turbulence preview between the Quadro FX 4800 and Radeon HD 4870 (both on the Nehalem Mac Pro). Any way to quantify or benchmark the difference other than subjective impressions?
and that cant be changed? yes, nvidia or ati could change how their platform interacts with the motherboard and change the gpu to handle more tasks like they are currently starting to do, intel cant stop them from making their own platform to adapt to their gpu's more completely, it just takes time. intel also has the same opportunity,we will see how they do with their internal gpu/cpu processor.

@xrenube: nvidia = shit. Nvidia wants to tell you that their products are AWESOME but amd customers know what you need ;P

@point6000x and what we need if you are being smart?
endson90 9 months ago
@endson90 What they present in the video is what EVERY graphics card released by now has included: OpenGL. Even my Smartphone supports OpenGL.
What you need for OpenGL just a simple graphics card like HD6950 which you can get for just a few €.
point6000x 9 months ago
Where is the real advantages of the quadro? Every modern mainstream GPU can render it much faster than this. So what the point of this vid?

to be honest, loads of ram with a decent cpu is more reliable, need loads of RAM though :(

@CollisionMax Hey! I might arrive too late...
but let me tell you that you get one of the best options!
If you compare your card with any other quadro youll know what i am talking about! Check in nvidia's web page.
Yours has more Cuda Cores.

Maybe the FX 1800 would perform better, but if you'd like to play one time the GeForce 470 would be way better.
