Great job, man. This is my favorite Nick song too, and I too have struggled with learning it. I've played Chris' version (which I think you mentioned is the version you play.) I've also worked out versions in BEBEBE and CGCFCE and none are right :(

It starts to play tricks on your ears after a while... seems like there's no possible way he can be doing all of that on 6 strings.

thanks, I think this is the right tuning - ie BBDGBE, fruit tree is played this way too, but who knows! some of the little rhythmic subtleties nick plays in this song are just phenomenal - noone will ever play it as well as he did! best wishes

When im tuning my Big E string i turn it higher to the right? I'm not too sure ive never tuned anything that high before. Last time i broke a string (:

your bottom E string should be tuned down to B and the A string should go up to B. so that you get (starting from the bottom, lowest string) BBDGBE. The two bottom strings should be an octave apart. hope that makes sense!
