I think what made him throw is not the fact that it was a shot of everclear, but the fact that he was expecting something different. Like this one time when I was young, I finished a small can of apple juice then filled it up with water. Sometime later, I returned to that can of water(in the apple juice can)expecting it to be apple juice and took an above average size sip and immediately spit it out.
