I have to admit that the spinning GtkHScale is a stupid example, but I was lazy.

Using GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap for these small widget-pixmaps isn't going to burn much RAM on the graphics-card. Besides it's only used for selected widgets not for all.

Good to see Gtk+ improving its own eye candy, but shit, that spinning GtkHScale widget made me wanna kill somebody.

Also you've gotta wonder how this will work out since it uses GL_EXT_texture_from_pixmap, like compiz fusion does, seems like a recipie to run out of vram.
