@antbux123 Thanks alot mate & thanks for subscribing! I'll have to upload more tunes, although most of them are made in FL Studio. I use FL more than Reason, my preferred choice :)
hey can u help, just wondering, does reason 4 come with its own loops and sounds, or do i need like a usb keyboard for midi? i dunno what im saying really but could do with help about gettin started, i mainly will be making pop/electro/dance kinda stuff coz thats me passion lol!! what u think i need?? just wondering where u get all the sounds from and how u get them up there. cheers :)
Actually, you DO NOT need a physical keyboard for that... you can use MidiYoke and LiveMidiKeyboard, this application emulates a Midi Keyboard with your standard QWERTY keyboard, and it works with Reason. =)
Pretty good, add in some EQ for more "Umph" at parts and it would be excellent. But then again you probably already know that saying that this is one of your first and its from 2007 :]
haha no, although that would work, it would be more work than it's worth. They used a vocal patch, which was probably downloaded or came in a refill that they got.
I take your points on board but your missing 1 vital element.....isnt dance music about making ppl dance??? regardless of genre or where/how the music was created. You dont have to be a master of beats to create a good dance tune.
whats wrong with using loops?? if the cap fits wear it......dance music is all about creativity aquiring music by any means.I almost always use pre programmed loops...I dont have the time or patience to slave over beats...each to their own but being negative never gets you anywhere in this subject.
That's fair enough. My point is that I can't present something I have created as my own if I just reused something that someone else put their time into. If you haven't got the time you haven't got the time, but I do think it is cheating. Just my personal opinion.
Yes but using samples is an entirely different beast to lifting an entire drum track, created in it's entirety by somebody else, which is used often without cessation for the entire duration of the song. Using good samples can be an artform if done correctly (though all too often it isn't). There's nothing arty about simply copying somebody else's work. The drum loop is so integral to any dance track that, in my opinion, it's something you should be doing yourself.
Dance music is creatin an audio story, different sections with different intentions.
Its about energy & controlin tht energy usin production technics, better production technics, better energy controll. Every bit shud have the passion of the producer throughout, other peoples loops aint got that passion (thats why gd artists have a distinctive sound). if u dnt even have the patience to produce n master ur own beats.
thn ul never have the talent to produce music of ur own. thts the honest truth.
I use 4.0 and I love it, but I haven't used any of the other versions of Reason. I just started using it, having switched over from FL. From what I understand there are a lot more features that make it a little more intuitive, plus the Thor Polysonic Synthesizer which is amazing.
I find the sounds in Reason are crap for making high end electro/dance music. i have downloaded various refills from eBay but all sounds sound really dated & cheesy & flat.
Is it possible to get decent fat electro synth sounds. Like Fedde Le Grande type sounds that are bang up to date, help anyone?
I use Reason alot for dance/trance music. And your right.. Reason dosnt seem to have any good strong analogue sounds... but it does hae its good points too. it is possible to make some pretty high end stuff using Reason.. though, you may wish to rewire it to Ableton Live, or Logic Pro
Gripdog, its obvious you dont know anythign about reason, you can make top notch tracks with reason if you know how to use it. Its abotu how the person uses the program. Compressions and eqing is the key and moulding ur own sound, this is just simple
gripdog, you must be dumb, alot of people that make "top class" (wtf kind of class is that?) use this program, and im very sure some of the music you've herd in the clubs and some radio have been created with Reason. happy dreamin kid
yeah my tunes dont really sound tacky anymore but just dont sound as authentic as a want them to be, if u wanna check out my tunes msg me and ill give you my myspace page adress

Yes, I think FL has alot of good sounds too & effects. Plus it's alot easier to use and you can lay down a tune quickly! I use FL alot more than Reason.
nice tune dude, ive been producing tunes on reason since reason 2.5 came out lol, but i always find with reasons (2.5, 3 or 4) no matter what re-fills you buy, there is always a tacky cheap feel to the overall sound, especially with the basses, kicks & hats!! Im i the only one that notices it???
Thanks, I agree with you totally man! Alot of sounds seem very cheap for a program that is suposed to be one of the best around & high rated. I was let down when I heard alot of them. But maybe it's what you can do wit it to!
yeah, well i produce hard trance and although i can mess around with the sounds and layer them to sound better their is still a cheap tacky sound to them. Its mainly the bass's and kick's..ah well its only £150 to get a tune engineered in a proper studio to get the sound right, which is what im in the process doing at the moment lol!!

haha naw i wasnt trying to show you up with my vid response. Just trying to show you different ways of how u can add more life to bass lines and melodies. Great song by the way. Keep it up.
awesome this song is one of the coolest i ever heard.. im trying to make something like that but im new to reason.. is it some basic tutorials here? ( i have no keybord )
Not so bad!! Its kinda minimal but it has some house feeling... I think that bass and harmonics should be tuned up a little and manipulated a bit to mix with the basses
might be partially your monitors' fault--if they don't have enough bass you'll end up compensating for it by making the bass louder in the song, etc. etc.--which it sounds like is the case (that would also justify the high-pitched bass because lower bass wouldn't sound good on small speakers)

oh.. and [ReFill] Patrick Fridhs D-50.rfl is the file im trying to get to work.
666ANTIKRIST666 3 years ago
I put the rfl file in C:\Program Files\Propellerhead\Reason
If u want to open it in NN19 Sampler, browse for file through the little blue folder Icon at the top of the sampler! Look for the file in Locations.
To add a folder to Locations, find the folder & drag it into the Locations Box.
