  • @903bloodjinn

I am 6'5 250. i have the same problem with with larger sizes. lol The XL fits me good but its too short. But the 2 XL is way to big on my waist and makes me look like an unmade bed. lol It's annoying. ha My family make fun of me because i complain too much about how my shirt fits. lol

  • Hah, Alpha I just found out your videos and these are AWESOME. Pure gold :))

  • i really hate just about every shirtmaker in the country. i'm a fairly "big and tall" guy (6'2", 240 pounds) with an 18" collar size. i guess the conventional wisdom says that people with my size neck weigh at least 400 pounds and have an absolutely gigantic belly. even slim fit and fitted shirts are HUGE on me. and "traditional fit" shirts have about 18" of extra fabric around the middle. UGH. so i have no choice but to get all my shirts tailor made at bank-breaking prices. fml.

  • @acrophobe u must super buff ey?

  • @rootiest nah. idk, maybe i just have dense bones or something.

  • Shirt size and fit can make or break a man's image. Great upload. Thanks for sharing!

    PaceShave*com

  • Aaron, can you do a video on brands with a slim fit? I'm not a little guy. I'm 6'4", about 230lbs, yet when I go to somewhere like Banana Republic, their shirts fit me like a mumu. It's like wearing a circus tent. What brands fit well which do not cost a fortune? Thanks. Love your videos btw.

  • great video thanks

  • its very informative, ill take note all those info when buying shirt and longsleve

  • I'm the same size! lol. Great video

  • excuse me, I wear u.s polo assn polo shirts in ready to wear sizes I like the medium shirts appose to the small due to how tight it feels, the mediums do good, but is it possible to taylor the length of the polo shirts as i dont tuck them in

  • gr8 ADVISE..thanx alot :)

  • Thanks a ton for the advice. Would you do a video on finding a perfect suit ? I'm 5'7 and it seems like i always buy a suit that is bigger than me.

  • wait were you on mtv?

  • hey, I love your videos, advices about fashion from person which is not fanatic to certain kind of fashion.

  • LOL at people taking shirt sizing advice from a guy wearing an over sized shirt with potato slack sleeves.

  • hey love your vids!! can you tell me which wax or gel you use?

    Thx alot!

  • @anadali He uses American crew fiber.

  • What is your opinion on Perry Ellis items? I have a few shirts and they aren't fitted but don't have excess fabric/mid section.

  • Guess what

  • I typically have to find shirts that are 17 1/2 to not choke, but still thinking of getting remeasured. So unfortuantly the rest of the shirt other then the arm lenth just engulfs me like a pillow case and have to go to the tailor, and tips on this?

  • Any suggestions on online tailors (cheaper than tailor)? It's hard to find shirts that fit of the rack. (neck 17.5", muscular chest, but waist is 33"). Not many retailers carry athletic fits and if they do it's a very limited selection. Also what do you think about darts (I'm not a big fan of them but I'm kind of stuck) on shirts? that's usually what I have to have done to shirts that I have tailored.

  • He's wearing earrings...

  • I love u

  • thanks for these, very helpful

  • U look Albanian

  • Hey Aaron. l love the work you do, sir. Your personal style and advice are simply amazing. I do have a question. How can the discerning gentleman who has, a more generously proportioned abdominal area, to be kind, find a great shirt that looks great and minimizes his girth?

  • @ApplesauceNinja Try J.Crew, many of their shirts are now available in two options, "traditional" or "slim". They describe the traditional fit as "made to measure". The traditional fit looks contemporary, but has a little more room throughout. It looks very neat when tucked in. It might be just right for your build.

  • I'm 15.5"/32" as well, the only thing is that fitted shirts tend to be more expensive and harder to find. I always seem to come across regular size cuts which isn't good for me as I'm 5'7 so would just make me look shorter. :S — I have several expensive shirts I own just sitting in my wardrobe that don't fit me well. :(

  • Thanks!

  • I'm a big fatty and whenever I buy a shirt that fits my neck, it's way too big everywhere else and looks ridiculous. A 16 and 1/2 shirt fits me great in the body, but the neck is an inch too small and won't even do up, but a 17 and 1/2 looks like a poncho on me!

  • no way dude, retailers are finally realizing there's a market for taller slim fitting sizes. Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy are carrying tall slim sizes. So a 16" neck with a 36" sleeve ain't too uncommon.

  • I'm 6'2 and wear a medium size shirt. I'm built slim, but I have very broad shoulders. Fitted shirts look very nice on me if I just stand and pose. When I start moving around, bending, reaching, sitting etc, the shoulders bind me, and my shirt bunches up around my waist and looks disheveled all over. I am constantly having to re-tuck my shirt. Any advice for broad shouldered guys who need just a little more room in the shoulders, but can't go a size up? Thanks!

  • @Thoughtfulguy68 i have the same question. can you answer it? mralphaconsulting

  • @Gabester64 I usually have good luck at Gap. Their fitted shirts, sweaters, and jackets often have just a little more shoulder room when compared to Banana Republic or Express. -I found some great Izod polo shirts at Macy's this Summer, they are trim but not tight, hip length, and fit well in the shoulders. They were only $19.99 so I bought them in 6 different colors :) I like Faconnable shirts, but they are not worth the cost.

Every once in a while a Banana Republic shirt fits. Yea!

  • Hmmm my size is 16/ 36 Long. Now what is the "long" designation?

  • 5:59 .. His girf friend is calling... lol

  • I enjoy your "rules of thumb" on determining sizes

  • hey do you know any more stores like express that sell shirts that are more for skinnier ppl?

cuz when i go try shirts from other store that are "my"size their to baggy or something is just not goood with me looking in them

so i was wondering if you would recommend any other stores like express or something

  • Can't stand buying shirts, I hate it. Of the small percent of patterns and colors I actually like the size is never right. If it fits in the chest and upper back then it is way to huge and blouse-like around my waist (29). If it fits both my chest and waist then 98% of the time it is way to long. I generally prefer fit above just about all else so it gets on my nerves lol.

  • im a sort of a teddy bear whatya mean with fitted shirts

  • Man boobs, what should the people that have them wear?? let me know if u mak a video..

  • you forgot the shoulder measurement dude!

  • Great Advice! Love your videos! I've been in Express Men before, but there way expensive, love their cloths though.

  • Love the vids man, now Im 6"3 tall and about 210pounds (big guy) what kind of shirt should i be wearing as far as size? sorry im new to this lol

  • Thats a lot of knowledge! Thanks man! Keep the videos coming :)

  • bad ass shurt love it

  • u don't button your sleeves?

  • Fitted shirts? can you explian what that means :P

Sorry I'm new to all this

  • @Tomymdobson thinner at the waist so u dont have extra fabric around the gut, unless you need it, then don't buy fitted. what you wanna do is create a v-shape torso.

  • I like your videos I'm

Thinking of doing my own videos on image consulting How to look like a gangster

  • Do it! I will be your first subscriber!

  • @AlphaMconsulting yeah me too. So i know what not to wear..

  • @AlphaMconsulting

Any advice on how to keep the collar from stretching out too much or keeping the flaps from coming up all the time and just laying flat?

  • lmao

  • @radicalevolutions when do you start?

  • Where did you by the shirt you were wearing in the video? It looks nice :)

  • Love the videos. If you wear the shirt outside the jeans or trousers, how far should it come down below the belt? Thanks is advance.

  • above the bottom of the crotch...

  • Cheers. Am just the same height as you, as its a pain getting things to fit. Most shirts I have cover my ass. The wife says the shirts look good, but I have a feeling they should be a bit higher up than that.

Thanks for all the videos. You rock.

  • @AlphaMconsulting what if you've got a beer belly? what shirt do you wear ???

  • Hmm the shirt you're wearing isn't that nice :\

  • The strobing of that shirt pattern isn't good on camera. My eyes!

  • Jajaja!! I checked my sleeves length and I could barely see my knuckles ( I always wear them rolled up). Thanks for your vids Aaron they are a big help.

  • Great comments.

  • Another good vid bro!

  • Great Video!

  • Aaron, Do you ever just slip on some athletic shoes and jeans to run errands around town?

Everyone in my city wears athletic shoes with jeans. Isn't dressing good also about dressing appropriate?

Is it ever okay to wear athletic shoes, a t-shirt, and jeans in public?

  • Sure I do, you are right about dressing appropriate. It all depends on the situation you are in. Absolutely okay to wear casual clothes. But there is a difference in good looking casual clothes and ugly ones.

  • Whaaat, the gigantic, oversized, baggy jeans and 'street' style doesn't do it for you, man?

  • You could say that!

  • Question...... I understand the 32/33 figure is the arm lenght.....but can u explain to me what the variation between the 32 and the 33? Thank You!!!

  • Thanks allot , as a teenager dressing up for new years eve I found this information very usefull :)!

  • My dress shirt sleeves are a bit too long at 32/33. What are my options? Do tailors shorten dress shirt sleeve lengths?

  • hello aaron. this is a great video. i followed your advice on combining patterns on christmas eve dinner and i got lots of compliments. do u only wear dress shirts? can u come up with a video on a more casual look, i mean t-shirts, polo shirts, sneakers? thanks.

  • Can you do a video on perfumes please? I don't know which one to pick. Do I need different ones for different occasions like going out, going on a date, or on the job.

  • Yes you do need different fragrances for different occassions. You also need to match your fragrances with the season.

Subscribe to robes08 and tswetcoff here on youtube for advice on fragrances for men.

  • Hey Aaron, I think we all appreciate your videos tremendously, keep up the good work.

  • great video as always aaron

  • When are we supposed to tuck in the shirt or let it hang?

What color socks should we wear with jeans and boots?

Are white cotton socks out of style?

  • Great question...To tuck or not to tuck. I think this would be a good video. Socks with boots, depends on the outfit. White shocks are fine with tall boots. Also depends on if you are on a date and you may be taking the boots off later for some action. Then I say match the socks to your underwear.

  • He did a video on matching socks, and yes white cotton socks are out of style.

  • Another neat trick is to buy a size smaller than what you really need - of course doing it this way you know your going to roll the sleeves up..otherwise you look like your wearing hand me downs, I find doing it this way makes, the shirt seem "fitted"...a hole lot better, the shirt then fits your shoulders snuggly to make them seem broader and the shirt contours down to your waist better. It will make a $14 shirt look like it cost $80

  • Of course I say this with the intention of the shirt hanging out untucked, "Preppy Style"

  • I think most men also don't have a clue on how to take care of their new wardrobe. I would like to see some videos on how to care for your clothes.

  • Great Advice and So Hottttt

  • Im new to North America. Please tell me some cool nice brands.

  • It isn't about the brand, it is about how you like it, how it fits and how it looks. Macy's has different brands and some great clothes for a reasonable price. Go check it out and welcome to the US. Give us time, we will grow on you.

  • Thank you soo much for these videos. There isn't allot on the web about men's fashion. Your advice has allowed me to improve my image greatly!

    You ROCK!

  • You very welcome! Thanks for watching.

    And

    You Rock

  • love your videos Aaron.

To complete videos on shirt, it would be good to talk about different cuff types and french cuffs and cufflinks.

  • I agree!

  • Great question! For some odd reason I don't think you are giving me a hard time...I actualy think you are serious.

  • sad that he took the time to make that comment.

  • Funny thing is that he is a subscriber, I think he was serious with the question. I almost hate to tell him that I guess I'm still in the closet seeing that I'm straight.

  • @AlphaMconsulting

I'm really sorry, I heard from viewers that you were gay. My apology. It's an honest question because I'm trying to convince my gay friend to come out to his parent on New year.

  • He's not gay. He is married...

  • See, I knew you were serious and don't worry, not offended at all. You know, I would be there to support and encourage your friend but don't rush him into doing anything he is not ready to do. Chances are his parents already know and would be fine with it, but you never know how they will react and what their response will be. Just be there as a good friend to him.

  • Wow I'am 15 years old my size is 15 32/33

  • I'm the size of a large 6th grade buy...what can I say.

  • haha

  • I'm the same size as you, Aaron. Don't worry. If that short dude Napoleon could (almost) conquer Europe, then there is hope for us yet.

Join me, my garden gnome-sized brother, and we shall rise against the tall folk! Bite their knees!

  • Great video, as always. Thanks!

  • nice one Aaron. keep em coming man. i didnt even know there was such a thing as arm size!! i need to go to better shops ^^

  • You rock, thank you. Going to buy some dress shirts now. Just bought a Calvin klein suit, but didn;t buy any shirts lol

  • be creative and play around with patterns! You will look amazing!

  • hey Aaron..!! nice video as usual....!! i really like u...!!

  • Well, thank you so much kind sir!

  • woot woot small ftw. lol and h&m is the best! :D nice vid.

  • Aaron it wont play grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

  • hey Aaron, I really enjoy your videos

quick question, how tall are you?

  • a towering 5'6".

  • Hey Aaron, did you ever feel that your height put you at a disadvantage against taller guys back when you were dating?

  • To be honest I never thought about it as a disadvantage, but I guess I was a bit more aware of it when in a group setting like a crowded bar or party. But, I have always been a confident guy and confidence is an attractive quality. My Frye boots also give me about another inch and a half, not too shabby.

  • @AlphaMconsulting

wow me too, i'm not as buff as you unfortunately. skinny + short = impossible to find clothes that fit :(

  • great video..!! thnx...

  • I see your running a "How your clothes should fit" theme :)

  • Never thought about it like that. But, seems to be a theme going. I'll change it up next week!

  • H&M has great fitting dress shirts.

  • @TrevorXstyle H&M is the best. no place makes them like they do and at 25-40 bucks they cant be beat
