Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) had commanded the women to stand at the rear of the congregation (if they do attend the congregational Salah). The reason being that women are to be hidden and have been commanded to observe Hijab. If men have to follow a lady imam in Salah, they would have to stand behind her. This is in total contrast with the rules of Hijab.

Any man is able to marry their sister in Islam and we call them their "ghair mahrams" (people you can marry, not your sisters, mothers). It is well established that in Islam a Muslim man or woman must preserve the required modesty in front of the ghair mahram.

God destroyed Saddam and Gomorrah because the people of those cities were bad and practiced homosexuality among other things. Good Christians do NOT accept homosexuality. My husband prays openly at work. He is openly known as a Muslim and has no fear and has NEVER been mistreated by anyone...civilian or government related. If anyone has fears of Islam, he has the freedom to educate them and give them literature regarding the truth. YES that IS FREEDOM.

We have been taught to be strong, non-violent, peaceful and above all, stand up for our faith with courage and conviction. @alawwaah Pt 2: From personal experience and conversations with many other women over the years, I can say that women often do take the blame. Not all men are good and often times, it is easier for ANY person to blame someone other than themselves. It does not always happen, but it is certainly not uncommon. So considering this, we never know when this will happen so to protect ourselves, women often over-react and assume responsibility.

But there is ikhtilaaf on whether it's permissible for the woman to call it in the privacy of her own home quietly. Also I stated when and how a woman would lead the prayer. It is not appropriate that a woman has to bend and prostrate in front of men. If they are so desperate to show equality, they should keep the basic common sense in mind. CALL TO PRAYER and SERMON is fine by a WOMAN leading prayer in front of men while she has to bend and prostrate is NOT OK.

There is nothing wrong with a woman leading the prayer as long as she is leading a congregation of women. I understand that in Islam it is not allowed for a woman to lead a man in prayer. Even in most forms Christianity, women are not allowed to lead the service unless it is all women. Men are the religious head of the household and they are held responsible for any soul (wife and children) that they are in charge of. This follows into the community. Women do not have this obligation.

I would say that if it is that important for her to lead prayer, then she organized a woman's prayer circle or something like that. Although I am not Muslim, I would be very uncomfortable showing my backside to a man in this way even if it is covered. I would be humiliated if I knew that a man was looking at my rear instead of focusing on God. I would feel responsible for his sin in that case.
@monjiaitaly As women, we are taught that we have to take care of our men and our children and our parents and our husbands parents and siblings, etc. When we have all this responsibility, and whenever anything goes wrong, we get the blame, it is difficult at times to allow others to take the responsibility if we are going to take the blame anyway. I'm not saying this is right, just offering another perspective.

I can understand on many levels that a woman leading the prayer with men in the room would not be let us just say it would not be the best thing. But in other aspects of life men need to take responsibility as well as woman for their behavior,. Men can not and should not blame woman for all.
@monjiaitaly I think that often times men are given excuses for their behavior while women are taught to be more conservative and responsible. Our nurturing nature makes us more likely to think of everyone else in our family before ourselves and this can lead to us taking on more responsibility in our lives than we should. This is one reason why women are more prone to Anxiety and Depression. We constantly have to worry if we are satisfying our husbands, family, and God.

My 2 cents: Nowadays many women are being encouraged to prove they can compete with men in matters they were (erroneously) thought to be inept. As a consequence, a competition of sorts has developed between the two sexes, in which each, tries to one-up the other. This could be a result of that sense of rivalry, or perhaps, some other misunderstanding. The notion that the prohibition of women leading salaah, is tantamount to them being the inferior sex is prolly ingrained in these peoples heads.
@saifrizwan You have a very good point here. Many of us women are required to study and work twice as hard just to prove that we are equal to a man. We get paid less money for the same work, get fewer promotions, fewer opportunities, etc. Men consider us weak if we allow any feminine attributes to show....i.e. maternal instincts, kindness, generosity, etc. Instead, men should be recognizing our strengths as complementing their own short comings and vice-versa.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) had commanded the women to stand at the rear of the congregation (if they do attend the congregational Salah). The reason being that women are to be hidden and have been commanded to observe Hijab. If men have to follow a lady imam in Salah, they would have to stand behind her. This is in total contrast with the rules of Hijab.

@NAB420 I don't know about CIA or anything like that, but it is possible that this video could have been created by a group of people who wanted to try to create a conflict between men and women within the Muslim community and mislead non-muslims. Only God knows the facts.

I merely speak from the perspective of a woman who has studied Christianity and Islam and from personal experience. Please allow me to make it clear that I do not agree with a woman leading the service. I am only offering potential ideas of what might have motivated her.

@alawwaah Pt 2: From personal experience and conversations with many other women over the years, I can say that women often do take the blame. Not all men are good and often times, it is easier for ANY person to blame someone other than themselves. It does not always happen, but it is certainly not uncommon. So considering this, we never know when this will happen so to protect ourselves, women often over-react and assume responsibility.

Astaghfir Allah Al Adheem... it is absolutely necessary to cover the hair and conceal the female body during salah; maybe this sister who lead the prayer in the video should do this first before endeavoring to lead a congregation and attempting to be a role model - her head scarf is falling off during salah for starters!! And finally - may Allah guide us all... this is totally wrong.

@mojiaitaly another thing that would have to b looked at besides it being an action that was never done during the time of the prophet nor his companions when they had the ability to do it (which in itself is enough) and the immodesty of showing her backside, we would have to consider that women dont pray or fast on their mense, so who is gonna be the imam then? this act is rejected from so many angles and one of the best women from the time of the prophet was his wife a'ishah and she narrated

@jenna987 if u look at the earlier posts I stated the position of women callin the adhaan. But there is ikhtilaaf on whether it's permissible for the woman to call it in the privacy of her own home quietly. Also I stated when and how a woman would lead the prayer. But the mannerism of how she prays, gives a talk calls adhaan etc is all "not ok"

It is not appropriate that a woman has to bend and prostrate in front of men. If they are so desperate to show equality, they should keep the basic common sense in mind. CALL TO PRAYER and SERMON is fine by a WOMAN leading prayer in front of men while she has to bend and prostrate is NOT OK.

There is nothing wrong with a woman leading the prayer as long as she is leading a congregation of women. I understand that in Islam it is not allowed for a woman to lead a man in prayer. Even in most forms Christianity, women are not allowed to lead the service unless it is all women. Men are the religious head of the household and they are held responsible for any soul (wife and children) that they are in charge of. This follows into the community. Women do not have this obligation.

@Uzair772 Perhaps you could try to educate them instead of calling them Bitches. If someone cusses you out, do you listen to them? Most people respond better to gentle education, not insults. Remind her about what the Quran teaches and why it is that way and she will more than likely listen to your advice. But if you call her a bitch, nothing changes. If she is trying to fill a need, help her do it in an acceptable way.

I would say that if it is that important for her to lead prayer, then she organized a woman's prayer circle or something like that. Although I am not Muslim, I would be very uncomfortable showing my backside to a man in this way even if it is covered. I would be humiliated if I knew that a man was looking at my rear instead of focusing on God. I would feel responsible for his sin in that case.

@monjiaitaly As women, we are taught that we have to take care of our men and our children and our parents and our husbands parents and siblings, etc. When we have all this responsibility, and whenever anything goes wrong, we get the blame, it is difficult at times to allow others to take the responsibility if we are going to take the blame anyway. I'm not saying this is right, just offering another perspective.

I can understand on many levels that a woman leading the prayer with men in the room would not be let us just say it would not be the best thing. But in other aspects of life men need to take responsibility as well as woman for their behavior,. Men can not and should not blame woman for all.

@monjiaitaly I think that often times men are given excuses for their behavior while women are taught to be more conservative and responsible. Our nurturing nature makes us more likely to think of everyone else in our family before ourselves and this can lead to us taking on more responsibility in our lives than we should. This is one reason why women are more prone to Anxiety and Depression. We constantly have to worry if we are satisfying our husbands, family, and God.

Yes SOME Christians have distorted the teachings of the Bible, however, many of us spend a great deal of time studying the history, laws, and scriptures to make sure that we OBEY God to the best of our ability. My 2 cents: Nowadays many women are being encouraged to prove they can compete with men in matters they were (erroneously) thought to be inept. As a consequence, a competition of sorts has developed between the two sexes, in which each, tries to one-up the other. This could be a result of that sense of rivalry, or perhaps, some other misunderstanding. The notion that the prohibition of women leading salaah, is tantamount to them being the inferior sex is prolly ingrained in these peoples heads.

@saifrizwan You have a very good point here. Many of us women are required to study and work twice as hard just to prove that we are equal to a man. We get paid less money for the same work, get fewer promotions, fewer opportunities, etc. Men consider us weak if we allow any feminine attributes to show....i.e. maternal instincts, kindness, generosity, etc. Instead, men should be recognizing our strengths as complementing their own short comings and vice-versa.
