To everyone who was confused by this episode, roger was briefly knocked unconsious, and dreamt these events. When we dream, everything we "see" is a refelection of our subconsious thoughts cast into "physical" form. in essence, this dream was an embodiment of rogers fear and confusion, and rogers belief that mey be just an actor on a stage.
@99superbot I think that its more like he lost his sense of self, and that he was denying that he was scared. But as the monologue states, by the end he came to accept that he felt fear, and that, that was what he had to fight against. Or something.
At 2:53, anybody else notice that the three other Big Dominii are sitting in the front row? I'm just sayin' it's something to consider, besides the fact that that shot would make an awesome print.
@xxxVJ300xxx I'm pretty sure it's just a blank space where her vag should be. So the question is, would you still love her even though you can't have sex with her?
@xerxes465 more than hot, Dorothy is beautiful, intelligent, a little sarcastic... Dorothy is basically a near perfect woman... aside from not having any organs anyway... Dorothy is more human than any other character IMO.
Fucking crazy what something like amnesia can turn you into. He goes from hapless bum to megazord pilot and defender of the city just by losing his memories.
Yes each of those foreign megadueces had pieces of Big Fau. If roger destroyed at least 2 out of the three robots than he wouldn't have had to worry about Big Fau.
This is just one of those mid-battle mindtrips that every hero goes through. He's just fearful of the fact that he might not exist beyond being "Roger Smith", because he lacks any form of memory before that. So he begins to question the shallowness of his existence.
But if you listen to the final speech he gives to Angel in the last episode, it's basically what he learned from this experience: people don't need memories of the past to exist.
This was a good episode because it's a bit of an oxymoron.
This is a television show (with roles and characters, etc.) but it's real life to the characters in the tv show, then this episode reveals that it's even a show to the characters. What a mind fuck. lol
Also, I didnt understand why the Union sends Alex Rosewater Big Fau in the carrier MegaDeuses (Robespierre, Carnot, and Fouche) when they wanted the Big-Type Megadeuses in the war 40 years ago.
This episode is a weird way of Roger psychoanylyzing himself I suppose: he admits in many ways that he has no real history of importance, and his existence is defined purey as his job and his duty as the Dominus of The Big O. With his memories, the REAL ones returning, he is forced to re-examine his identity. Roger doesn't like his identity being challanged hence this weird balls-tripping episode.
theres a fight that breaks out, his stress, fears and doubts of being a negotiator and why he can pilot big o manifests its self when he is hit with a beam or attack from the foreign megaduces. its more or less a dream of why life would be like if it didn't need him as a negotiator. As his brain reasserts himself, he awakens and destroys the union robots.
When it was playing the triumphant music as Roger is talking about what he must truly fight, I though it was going to go Street Fighter on us with Roger beating the crap out of Dorothy.

I think this episode was an allusion to the nature of Paradigm as shown in the final episode... mostly that it's basically the matrix.

From outside Paradigm City. The Union constructed them.

@SR71ABCD They came from the union outside the domes. They had a deal with Alex Rosewater to send memories in return parts of the 3rd megaduse

What I ment was, "Why send Big Fau to Rosewater, when they wanted the power of a Big-Type MegaDeus for themselves in order to wipe out Paradigm?"

rosewater made a deal with the foreigners by letting them into the city i guess in exchange for big fau.
