  • To everyone who was confused by this episode, roger was briefly knocked unconsious, and dreamt these events. When we dream, everything we "see" is a refelection of our subconsious thoughts cast into "physical" form. in essence, this dream was an embodiment of rogers fear and confusion, and rogers belief that mey be just an actor on a stage.

  • 1:51

    Insert "Star Wars" joke here.

  • adult swim logo.

  • ok so roger lost his confidence and he got it back???

  • @99superbot I think that its more like he lost his sense of self, and that he was denying that he was scared. But as the monologue states, by the end he came to accept that he felt fear, and that, that was what he had to fight against. Or something.

  • @AngelicRemorse well that makes some sence but im still confused a bit

  • 2:45 perfect hair forever

  • I think this episode was an allusion to the nature of Paradigm as shown in the final episode... mostly that it's basically the matrix.

  • big o walks like a fat guy 0-0

  • some of the most intense 5 minutes ever.....

  • The scene at 3:25 always gives me tingles when I watch it, like its portraying "There hope....there is always hope"

  • anyone know the song when big O shows up??

  • @ElderScrollMaster12 Sure Promise (Union Square)

  • @Monstermarkus Thank you do you know the song between 1:56 and 2:58??

  • @ElderScrollMaster12 Apologine (Breecker Street)

  • "I turn my gun on inosint childen on the battlefeld"

  • 4:29 first appearance of Alan Gabriel

  • they metalized all the musiczes!!!!

    I's happeh.

  • Those other 3 robots has the parts of Big Fal but where did they come from?

  • From outside Paradigm City. The Union constructed them.

  • @ArturArtorius is there an episode where dorothy gets shot?

  • @SR71ABCD They came from the union outside the domes. They had a deal with Alex Rosewater to send memories in return parts of the 3rd megaduse

  • At 2:53, anybody else notice that the three other Big Dominii are sitting in the front row? I'm just sayin' it's something to consider, besides the fact that that shot would make an awesome print.

  • what is the next episode after this

  • 1:55 and on is what makes this my favorite episode.

  • Is it wrong to think Dorothy's hot?

  • @xerxes465

I dunno it might be disturbing, but it is tempting to say that she is

    the hottest female robot character.

  • @xerxes465 Well, at least not in this episode!

  • @xerxes465 Obviously not, Roger certainly does!

  • @xerxes465 It's wrong to NOT think Dorothy is hot! Love her red hair and pale white skin! I just wonder how her insides are downstairs!

  • @xxxVJ300xxx I'm pretty sure it's just a blank space where her vag should be. So the question is, would you still love her even though you can't have sex with her?

  • @xerxes465 Hmmm... I'd say yes but it'd be hard to get over at first.

  • @xerxes465 No sex? She has a mouth and two hands I think that is enough...

  • @JMV12345678912345678 problem is, she has a grip that can shatter bones... DX

  • @xerxes465 No, in fact once you go metal you won't wanna settle lol ,'; )

  • @xerxes465 more than hot, Dorothy is beautiful, intelligent, a little sarcastic... Dorothy is basically a near perfect woman... aside from not having any organs anyway... Dorothy is more human than any other character IMO.

  • As long as you keep calling me that name, I'll be Roger Smith!

  • I still don't understand how they lost their memories in the first place...

  • Fucking crazy what something like amnesia can turn you into. He goes from hapless bum to megazord pilot and defender of the city just by losing his memories.

  • i know right? i mean i feel like if i ate one i'd die from all the chemicals used to make it that shiny

  • Those are the shiniest synthetic tomatoes I've ever seen.

  • Love how Roger just annihilates a ship and a lighthouse. He got the job done though, that's for damn sure.

  • I love the people at 2:53. Who is the first guy from the left in the back row though?

  • dorothy's father

  • sorry... i meant from the right.

    my bad

  • @compsci91 Far right guy is Roger's informant Big Ear.

  • Dale the bartender?

  • Roger is a android!!!!

  • @ElderScrollMaster12 actually he recreated

  • Yeah, it's Big Fau.

  • At least the head, anyway.

  • Yes each of those foreign megadueces had pieces of Big Fau. If roger destroyed at least 2 out of the three robots than he wouldn't have had to worry about Big Fau.

  • But then he wouldn't be able to blast anything with Final Stage later on.

  • Okay but remeber big fau was gonna attack big O before Big Venus showed up. Also it would have ment one less enemy to fight.

  • Holy ****! I thought it only had 4 hooks.

  • 2:53 -- Frankly, I don't know whether that shot has a hidden meaning, or just blatant laziness.

  • i think it was a reference to it all being a show, like Roger said

  • This is just one of those mid-battle mindtrips that every hero goes through. He's just fearful of the fact that he might not exist beyond being "Roger Smith", because he lacks any form of memory before that. So he begins to question the shallowness of his existence.

But if you listen to the final speech he gives to Angel in the last episode, it's basically what he learned from this experience: people don't need memories of the past to exist.

  • I think I should've rephrased my previous sentence. lol.

What I ment was, "Why send Big Fau to Rosewater, when they wanted the power of a Big-Type MegaDeus for themselves in order to wipe out Paradigm?"

  • rosewater made a deal with the foreigners by letting them into the city i guess in exchange for big fau.

  • yea right, the Union leader says something about an agreement when Fau begins attacking Bonapart in 'The Third Big'

  • This was a good episode because it's a bit of an oxymoron.

This is a television show (with roles and characters, etc.) but it's real life to the characters in the tv show, then this episode reveals that it's even a show to the characters. What a mind fuck. lol

Also, I didnt understand why the Union sends Alex Rosewater Big Fau in the carrier MegaDeuses (Robespierre, Carnot, and Fouche) when they wanted the Big-Type Megadeuses in the war 40 years ago.

  • That city must have great insurance.

  • The premiums are pretty high, but when the company that owns the city also runs the insurance, it's not much of a problem...

  • I feel sad that they don't have Ed Asner playing Alex during the second season, he was great in the first.

  • This episode is a weird way of Roger psychoanylyzing himself I suppose: he admits in many ways that he has no real history of importance, and his existence is defined purey as his job and his duty as the Dominus of The Big O. With his memories, the REAL ones returning, he is forced to re-examine his identity. Roger doesn't like his identity being challanged hence this weird balls-tripping episode.

  • 4:29 alan's got some ninja skills

  • the majority of this episode made me think LSD

  • so Beck was rich and Roger was poor in the past?

  • it's better

  • Man, what a great scene, maybe the best episode in the series.

P.S., notice in the audience Alex is the only one with hands that match his skin color?

  • Alex Rosewater....what a dumb bastard.

  • the whole story is literally a dues ex machina. The machine that wields the power of god. Hence god from the machine.

  • this episode makes no fucking sense at all. someone help me out.

  • theres a fight that breaks out, his stress, fears and doubts of being a negotiator and why he can pilot big o manifests its self when he is hit with a beam or attack from the foreign megaduces. its more or less a dream of why life would be like if it didn't need him as a negotiator. As his brain reasserts himself, he awakens and destroys the union robots.

  • When it was playing the triumphant music as Roger is talking about what he must truly fight, I though it was going to go Street Fighter on us with Roger beating the crap out of Dorothy.

  • 2:53 BEST. SHOT. EVER.

  • *gigglesnort* I see shadow people.

  • Just noticed something else. Evryone who can pilot a Big is sitting in the front row. Coincedence?

  • It appears the two smaller foreign megadeus have the arms, and the large one has everything else.

  • he is gone nutz

  • Yeah but I think that this episodes theme has more or less something to do with Roger facing his inner demons.

  • God I love this episode! Thanks for posting :)

  • One of my favorite episodes.. even if it's rather confusing.

  • glad it ended the way it did, makes perfect sense now

    damn good episode this is

  • Is that Big Fau's head or something inside the foreign Megadeus at 4:44?

  • in this he's kinda like Shinji.

    "I mustn't run away"

  • what the hell

  • God i hate that red dress

  • Deep! Thats all I'm gonna say

  • ty elk-kun!

  • Crazy, it was all an illusion, probably brought on by the overload of memories from the previous episode.
