kirk cameron is an arrogant bastard + newsflash hes an actor he is good at acting... so hmm he makes money as an actor on tv,then has an epiphany and decides hey i could really use my "talent" for a higher purpose right, ok well he's an actor soo...
I wish they had gotten Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher to debate Kirk and Ray. Dawkins could make easy work of proving everything they have to say wrong (especially when it comes to evolution) and Maher would be there to be hilarious. Although he too could rip them apart himself easily.
Of course biologists cannot say how the human body can form randomly. EVOLUTION IS NOT RANDOM. All you bible beaters need to understand this simple concept.
Kirk is making a valid argument that humans have not physically witnessed a complete species-species transition. While this may be so, because we have yet to observe this natural process does not refute the point as it IS potentially observable, and therefore can either be proven/disproven accordingly. Creationism/ID is irrefutable and therefore unscientific by definition. That is the entire purpose for this debate. "Is religion scientific?" No.
@AndrewStickley Kelly is an over the hill looking porn star. She's good for one night NOW. God forbid you're stuck with her in 40 years. In mind & saggy ass skin. Lets see how those funbags look in 2 decades. Although they might be right where they are now. Which is even more disturbing.
Let me clear up Comfort about the faith atheist hold in history books. History books do not make extraordinary claims, unlike the bullshit stories within the bible. Even if the history books written by man are inaccurate, they do not have any immediate effect on me as a modern day person. If a history book is wrong, big fucking deal. The bible however makes threats regarding eternal torture and punishment, and bases them all on lacking evidence. That is why I would rather trust a history book.
I dont think Kirk gets that its gradual change over millions of years, tiny little changes every generation. Kirk seems to think evolution means that one day a cat decided it wanted to give birth to a kitten with a fucking elephant face. It doesn't work like that Kirk you preaching idiot.
Kirk says that he "sees animals that are fully formed". How the fuck can you tell if its fully formed? Just because a species is what it is when you exist doesnt mean its "full formed".
Okay this is weird for me to so please bear with me. I respect Kirk here. Now as an atheist and skeptic I find his "logic" to be weak, unfounded, and easily refuted. However, in this instance he kept his cool in situations and openly admitted that he doesn't fully understand certain aspects. The atheists, in my opinion, did not keep their cool, couldn't hold their tongues, and were, bluntly, rude. I agree with the atheists here but these ones need to practice before they debate.
@soundmindwar Kirk and his partner are repeatedly demonstrating that they do not at all understand the theory that they are attempting to refute. Their side of the debate shows lazy research, oversimplification, poor attempts to clarify, and they are wasting the time of everyone involved. Kirk and his partner are being the rude ones here. The other side continually attempts to explain the same ideas over and over, and Kirk either refuses to, or is completely unable to understand them.
@alezunde I get your point. Like I said I am an atheist and I don't agree with their points per se but I do respect their ability to be calm. seriously, objectively watch this and watch how they act. The atheists get jumpy and angry and try too hard. The theists here don't have good points. I am merely pointing out that they have better debate skills. The atheists chosen weren't a good choice IMO because they can't stay calm and even their good points weren't well presented.
@soundmindwar They do remain much calmer, which helps their presentation, but their ability to debate pretty much ends there. Their arguments are so full of logical fallacies it's ridiculous. The two opposing Kirk should probably remain better-collected, but I can imagine how it would be frustrating that you are arguing about something with someone who has put absolutely zero effort into understanding the topic.
@Fishyman777 and it seems likes it becomes increasingly difficult for him to feign the level of obtuseness necessary to play devil's advocate to RRS. Props to him for trying so hard though.
When Kirk says "do the research" he really means "read the bible." That's the problem here. These guys refuse to look at the evidence of evolution because they're too busy "doing the research."
Kirk cameron says: "And if you ask any sceintist they will tell you that no one knows how that happened, and thats why I'm here to tell you how it happened"
Lol...I love how everyone gasps when she said there was no historical evidence of Jesus: Newsflash Youtube, she's right! All we have even approaching evidence is manuscripts of the Gospel Mark (which we can't even put an actual author's name to) written 40+ years after Jesus supposedly died. 40 years! So in a time when people lived 28-31 years, it wasn't until these men would have been 70+ years old that any text about Jesus can be found. It's hearsay at the best, mythology at its worst.
He is SOOOOO stupid!!! Transitional forms doesn't mean the form is changing in it's life, but it it means that every time something is born it comes out a little different from its parents and yes we are all evolving slowly!
I really hate it when people say "former atheist", it's like saying "I believed in santa clause, then I stopped believing in santa clause, and once again I decided to believe in santa clause."
He was just a kid with no religion, then he was brainwashed by religious people, and now he's stuck in a mind fuck of "I was an atheist, and now I'm saved"
If the "intellect" that Kelly and Brian claim leads to the peace they demonstrate, and Kirk and Ray's "fairy-tale" leads to the peace they demonstrate...I'll take the fairytale please.
This makes me consider something else...your body can live w/o brain function, but not w/o the function of the heart. So what's more important, filling the heart or filling the brain? Just something to think about....
@mrswhatwhat Actually, your body can't operate without brain function, because your brain stimulates your heart and every other organ that work interdependently of one another to maintain your body's function. Your brain is the conductor, signaling every other part of your body to do what it must to keep living. And you seem to suddenly jump from the physical heart to the philosophical heart in your statement, unless if you mean something else when you talk about "filling" it.
@mrswhatwhat In case you didn't realise, all this "follow the heart" crap is just that, crap. The heart is the organ that keeps the blood pumping around the body. The brain is what makes you think, so what you are actually doing is following your thoughts and ignoring scientific evidence. Before refusing to accept the science, learn it. I strongly believe that to evolve further as a species, we need knowledge, by refusing to accept science, we are holding ourselves back. Think about that.
As I step back and watch this I have to take the spot light off of "scientific proof" and put it on "heart proof" I have to ask myself...what are Kelly and Brian debating for? Self...perhaps? And what are Kirk and Ray debating for? Just as an onlooker it looks like the aren't just trying to win for self justification...the difference? The peace and confidence that is in their eyes, their demeanor, their body language, their tone, it is not arrogant or cynical.
Kirk and that other tool are obviously lacking for any amount of intellect, but I really wish representative party of evolution knew what they were talking about better.
Arditpithicus Raminus, Australopithicus Aferensis, A. Africanus, Homo Habillis, H. Rudolfensis, H. Erectus, H. Hiedelbergensis, Tiktallik, Archeopterex, Conodont, Pandericthys, Ambulocetus, Pikia, Haikuichthys, Allosaurus, and Eorapter are just a few of the thousands of transitional forms.
What's with the arrogance of looking to the other side? As if that was a sign of intellectual superiority? It's obvious the truth raises anger in people, but have some class guys..
"we both read the Bible multiple times" hmmm...
The supposed "fairy tale book" contains verifiable history and geography, even science. "This Jesus guy" must have been the worlds most biggest, most prevalent fairy tale and hoax as the most talked about person in history with time lines even mentioning his name.
What kirk is basically saying is that he wants the animal that is in transition to die every second of it's life so that we can find fossils of the transition taking place... yeah... right... that... MAKES SENSE! :D
-.- Douche. Obviously, we're not going to find all the fossils of the creature as it was transitioning, but we see the the flippin creature has bones and shapes of different types of species...
@alienlifeform11 God is the being that gave us the sufficient intelligent to create science, that gave you the ability to reason, and the chance to exist in the first place.
Evolution and Big Bang doesn't prove or disprove God. So they SHOULD be irrelevant to this discussion.
The reason that evolution/big bang is discussed so much is because atheists have been SOLD that evolution/big bang disproves the Christian theory of creation...that science is a better authority than Christianity...which is what atheists have desperately wanted. So some people gave atheists what they wanted...and made them into cultists who blindly follow anything the science community spews
@TheGoalSetter You make a strong point, however this debate delves into to the deeper discussion of Intelligent Design (ID) vs. evolution being taught in schools. The Way of the Master (TWotM) series blatantly argues for ID to be taught in schools. TWotM concept of ID was proven NOT to be scientific in Kitzmiller vs Dover Board of Education. Religion being taught as science is not credible, religion as a philosophy is credible and should be respected.
@TheGoalSetter You've got it wrong. The burden of proof that god exists is on his believers. I can say that Unicorns and Dragons exist and if asked to prove it just reply 'can you prove they don't?'. I say gravity exists and the burden of proof is on me and I can support that scientifically.
@alienlifeform11 The burden of proof is on the party that is trying to control me.
When politicians start oppressing me because of religious beliefs, then those religious beliefs are on trial (e.g., forced prayer in school).
Similarly, when politicians start oppressing me because of scientific beliefs, then those scientific beliefs are on trial (e.g., forced evolution teaching in schools).
Heck, being forced to go to school is oppressive.
Discovering Religion on youtube perfectly lays out the transitional species, for anyone who wants to hear a great rebuttal to these creationist goofs.
@MrSaint3 They can keep looking for poodle-monkeys while actual scientists get shit done, saving people's actual lives, not their make-believe afterlives.
Kirk's little pre-rehearsed speech is hilarious. "Imagine that you are walking on a beach..." Scratches head. Hahahaha. It doesn't get much more hokey and corny than that.
Lol its so funny!!!! Kirk talking about nature producing patterns and not information, which i can kind of agree with, but then goes on to DNA which is a PATTERN in and of itself of four main proteins and the "information" it contains was put there by (no not God) US! WE created the code for DNA! Without human interaction DNA is just a PATTERN created by nature! LOL!
The overwhelming majority of christians in the UK believe evolution is true .... Kirk and Ray should go and argue with those from their own religion who think they're talking crap.
Nobody has ever seen evolution take place because it takes an extremely long time to happen.. Its like asking someone if they ever have seen a Mountain develop.
@oregon232 Actually, it depends on the size of the creature. Bacteria & viruses adapt extremely fast. It only takes hours til you have a completely different being that is not interchangeable any longer with the thing before that. Also evolution can be triggered if there're too many of one species at one spot. E.g. the perches in Lake Victoria were introduced there by colonial powers & their evolution is so rapid & fast. It's amazing
to the creationist please research!!!, also dont tell me to read the bible beauces i have and i have found lots of mistakes. plus ther are differnt types of bible i.e the new testiment bible, the king james bible atc... dont just belive what it say question it why did he do this? why did he do that? dont just blindly belive in it!!! if god created everything and knows everting that is going to happin then why is there evill in the world? he made saten did he not?. question everthing
Speciation, macroevolution has occured in the lab and in nature. One of the best examples of this was done in fruitflies. I'm amazed that the RRS didn't bring any of this up.
The problem with the atheist arguement about no records for jesus
is a hard arguement to make because 8th century rome was trying to stomp out the christian religion before catholicism started where lots of churches and family lineages literature and scriptures were destroyed or burned this is only one instance of the attempted removal of any religion
if there were any records they would have most likely been destroyed
It takes a world more faith, to believe in evolution than the Bible. Since there is no real evidence other than imagination and hope for evolution. The evidence of a creator, is on open display in all of Creation, from DNA, seeds, and every living thing, to the extreme fine tuning of everything on this planet, for life to exist. To the awesome way the entire universe was carefully designed and laid out. All it takes to believe in evolution, is to close your eyes, turn off your brain, & imagine.
Yes they are; especially with much of the research coming to conclusions that do not support accidental or spontaneous formation, but intelligent design.
That depends. If I already believe in a creator which I do then this video is not flawed nor is the video I related to you yesterday. Of course we could go juvinile argue back and fourth like a couple of 10 year olds in a playground.
1) Accidental: wrong. things have a reason called NATURAL SELECTION, not "accidental" or "random".. they are just completely wrong words to use to explain (and READ and understand this) NATURAL SELECTION.. ok? naaaaaturaaal seleeectionnn.
2) Spontaenous: wrong. Evolution has gone about for BILLIONS of YEARS!
If something should have been spontaneous it would have been your gods spontaneous creation of adam and eve (eve which came from adams rib btw. fail.)
we'll you said atheist get upset when people oppose them, so why so worried about gays? why the inquistion? you're as guilty or worse off in fact than we are
@Dragonflamz You could say the same for every god. You could even say it about the one real God, but it would not be true, in that single case. To disbelieve God, is to close your eyes to all evidence of His creation, from the universe to seeds, to DNA etc. And to imagine that the endless details of creation, that make our lives capable of being fun, convenient, meaningful etc. Just happened to come about by chance.
@carterfamily8903 "but it would not be true, in that single case" Can you really not see how that is a complete fallacy?? You cannot sit there and say 'mine is the one true god cause i say so from looking around me'. A muslim could say the same about Allah, or a hindu about Brahma. And the very fact that our existence on this planet has come about by a chain of such improbability that it makes life all that more worthwhile and something to be cherished. I dont need god to enjoy life.
@Dragonflamz If there is a true and living God, that created all that is, the way the Bible clearly indicates. Then all other gods are idols. Jesus claimed to be the only way to heaven. He was either a liar, or He was a lunatick, or He was the Lord God Almighty in human flesh, and is the only way to heaven. If there is a real heaven, do you think people could earn their way there, and demand and deserve it? Or would their only shot at heaven be, the grace of God"? Ephesians 2:8,9.
@carterfamily8903 You keep using 'if' as if you're not sure yourself, which makes me question the assertions you are trying to make. And the bible is no more evidence for the existence of god then harry potter is for wizards.
@Dragonflamz I do not use the word if, because I am not sure, I use the word if, because you, or others may not be sure. The Bible is the word of God. I have staked my eternity on that, and left Mormonism because of it, which is what I was raised in, and what most of my biological family believes. The Bible is hands down, the most printed book in the world. There is no book that can compare in any way, prophetically, historically, or scientifically with it.
@carterfamily8903 Please do not assert that the bible is scientific or historic in any way shape or form, the only thing it might possibly prove is that a man by the name of Jesus may or may not have lived in the region of Judea at the beginning of the 1st century AD. Any high school history or science textbook provides far more evidence then the bible could ever hope to.
@Dragonflamz Actually the Bible provides far more evidence than any high school or science textbook ever will. School books have much speculation, theory, and opinion of man. The Bible is simply the word of God, and is totally reliable and accurate, in anything it says, relating to history, archaeology, prophecy, science, how life works, how things came to be, and what will happen after we die.
@carterfamily8903 "Totally reliable and accurate??" So a talking snake caused man to 'fall from grace', Noah managed to fit two of every animal onto a wooden ark despite the fact that we are still discovering new species today, a man supposedly walked on water and cured the blind, we should persecute homosexuals just because it tells us too. Yes i can see how all of that is completely believable and moral; you are clearly deluded and I shall end the discussion here. Peace.
@Dragonflamz Find me the verse in the Bible that says we should persecute homosexuals. I've read it over a dozen times, and I've never seen that verse. The hardest verse in the Bible to accept is the first one. If God created the heaven and earth, and everything in it, the rest is easy. There is no logical explanation for everything, outside of the Bible. All people come from Adam & Eve. All species of dogs, came from one set of dogs, that were on Noahs Ark.
@Dragonflamz Well you can ignore the truth if you want to, that is your choice. You will meet God after you die, though, whether you like Him or not, or whether you believe in Him or not. You can tell Him how humans evolved from Apes if you want to, but He ain't gonna buy it. He created humans, and He created Apes, there is a world of difference between the two.
@carterfamily8903 The only person telling me im gonna meet god is you. And you only need to spend a day looking at and studying the behaviour of chimps and gorillas to see that we clearly share common ancestry. Just as you can look at dogs and wolves and clearly see the same thing.
@Dragonflamz Did we evolve from a half parrot, half ape? Parrots can talk, monkeys and apes can't. Why haven't chimps built watches, rockets, computers, buildings, why don't they write books, or do math? I can disbelieve the Bible, and I could tell you you will not meet God, but the Bible is the word of God, whether I or you wish to believe it or not. It checks out, arhaeologically, historically, prophetically, experientially, and every way.
@carterfamily8903 Even if the bible is the word of god, which is almost certainly not true, please explain why god only chose to reveal it to mankind 2000 years ago, before which humanity had been worshipping 'false idols' such as the Egyptian sun god Ra or various Babylonian and Sumerian gods. Going even further back, did humans living 10,000, 20,000 or 100,000 years ago believe in god without his 'word'? Seems to me god missed a trick there.
@Dragonflamz God spoke with Adam, and Eve face to face. They were the very first people on this planet. They taught their children. God spoke to Noah about 2458B.C. and told him to build the Ark. God spoke to Moses around 1445 B.C. and parts of the Old Testament, were being written shortly after that. The very people Moses led out of Egypt, continually ended up going after other gods. There were no humans, there was no earth 10000 years ago.
@carterfamily8903 But again you are using the bible as a history book, which it is not, and ignoring clear verifiable facts about the age of humankind and the planet. If you go to any natural history museum you will see will your very own eyes bones and fossils that are over 10,000 years old.
@Dragonflamz The Bible is most certainly a history book, 100% accurate in it's history. Who was alive to see these bones or fossils 10000 years ago? Nobody. Radiocarbon dating does not work, there are videos right here on YouTube that explain why. Samples can be contaminated by such things as water and even heat. There is no factual date for anything over maybe 5-6 thousand years. It is speculation at best.
@carterfamily8903 100% accurate? dont make me laugh. The only source the bible uses is itself. No history, or indeed any educational, book today would get anywhere near being published with just one factual source. They corroborate facts and evidence from a multitude of different sources that either agree with each other or form the basis for a counter-argument. If the bible was first published today it would be laughed out of the bookstores.
@Dragonflamz Actually the Bible is a collection of 66 books, by over 40 different writers, from all sorts of walks of life, all of the books support, and confirm each other, with no contradictions, even with the variety of writers, the Bible tells one continuous story, and all of it points to Jesus Christ. The history of the Bible is corroborated by all kinds of non biblical writings, histories, and is further backed up by archaeology from several cultures.
@carterfamily8903 No its not. There are extremely few non-biblical writings that mention Jesus, and the ones that do are vague and ambiguous. What archaeological evidence proves the bible?
@Dragonflamz No archaeological evidence proves the Bible, but there R 1000s of archaeological finds that verify the Bible, & what it says. Many were found, by using the Bible. You ought to look into the non-biblical writings about Jesus a little closer, if you think they R vague & ambiguous. They verify the major claims of the Bible about Him. He really lived, died, worked miracles, really died, & was reported to have rose from the dead.
@carterfamily8903 Well from a quick search it appears that most of the mentions of Jesus at the time have either been found to be forgeries or second and third-hand accounts that have been taken out of context. Also it seems that there were several Jewish men at the time claiming to be the messiah.
@Dragonflamz You ought to read the book "The Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel, a former atheist with a Master of Studies in Law degree from Yale Law School, he was also a journalist for the Chicago Tribune. He thought he could prove Christianity wrong, after his wife became a Christian, and instead of proving her wrong, found the real evidence proved her right. He even has some videos right here on YouTube, if you would like to watch them.
@carterfamily8903 Who is alive to see who exactly wrote the Bible? Who is alive that heard Jesus say those exact words and teachings? Who is alive to document what that book went through over 2000 years?
No one.
Books and bones are too diofferent to compare. In bones, there are elements that decay and by judging the rate it decays, it can be aged.
@HayleeHalogenX Who is alive that wrote our Constitution, or saw George Washington? How can we know what it has gone through in over 200 years? We have manuscripts 4 the Bible. We have completed english translations that date back hundreds of years, we have Hebrew & Greek manuscripts that date, some of them 1000s of years back. By comparing old, with new, it is pretty easy 2 see how much "tampering" has gone on. The Bible is very accurate, and it is the Word of God. Whether or not we believe it.
@carterfamily8903 The documentation in the past 200 years is more reliable than that of 2000 years, especially when those years had critical religious warfare.
But it is more or less the word of Man, not God. God's hand did not come down and write that book, nor did Jesus.
In conclusion, I don't want to spend my living life or this so called "afterlife in heaven" worshipping a vengeful tyrant. I could worship Stalin if I wanted that.
@HayleeHalogenX God is certainly no vengeful tyrant. If He were we would all be dead and in Hell right now. The worship of God is automatic, for those who ever really come to know just Who God is. He is bigger, more powerful, more merciful, more loving, more just, that we can fathom. Worship is not some fake phony human ritual, it is seeing God for Who He really is. The Bible is God Breathed. Men wrote as God moved them to write. There is no real doubt of any important thing that the Bible says.
@carterfamily8903 Why does a lack of revision confirm it is the Word of God? Surely all your point proves that the Bible - AS A TEXT - has undergone little revision or "tampering" as you call it.
@babuwhite2010 A lack of revision does not prove the Bible is the word of God, but the more you search the Bible and see the extreme accuracy of what it says, that can be verified, the more reason there is to accept the parts that cannot as yet be physically verified. There is a lot of interesting information in the original texts, that is encoded, or otherwise concealed in ways, that I believe show the evidence of supernatural authorship as well. Only God can tell the future before it happens.
@babuwhite2010 What it says about human nature, is right on. We R basically evil, not good like we tend to think of ourselves. If we were basically good, we would need no laws. Isaiah 53 gives amazing descriptions of the crucifixion 100s of years before it happened. Revelation speaks of the whole world seeing certain events, and a worldwide monetary system, that no person can participate in without a certain mark. Prophecies like these I do not believe could possibly happen without internet. etc
@Dragonflamz Every person on this planet has had opportunity to know God. The invisible things of God are clearly seen, in the things He has made. See Romans 1. Man quickly turns from the true God, because He is infinitely bigger, more powerful, and knowledgeable. Than we can even comprehend, little own feel comfortable with. Man is very, very, finite. God is tot

The atheists, in my opinion, did not keep their cool, couldn't hold their tongues, and were, bluntly, rude. I agree with the atheists here but these ones need to practice before they debate.
soundmindwar 9 months ago
@soundmindwar Kirk and his partner are repeatedly demonstrating that they do not at all understand the theory that they are attempting to refute. Their side of the debate shows lazy research, oversimplification, poor attempts to clarify, and they are wasting the time of everyone involved. Kirk and his partner are being the rude ones here. The other side continually attempts to explain the same ideas over and over, and Kirk either refuses to, or is completely unable to understand them.
alezunde 9 months ago
@alezunde I get your point. Like I said I am an atheist and I don't agree with their points per se but I do respect their ability to be calm. seriously, objectively watch this and watch how they act. The atheists get jumpy and angry and try too hard. The theists here don't have good points. I am merely pointing out that they have better debate skills. The atheists chosen weren't a good choice IMO because they can't stay calm and even their good points weren't well presented.
soundmindwar 9 months ago
@soundmindwar They do remain much calmer, which helps their presentation, but their ability to debate pretty much ends there. Their arguments are so full of logical fallacies it's ridiculous. The two opposing Kirk should probably remain better-collected, but I can imagine how it would be frustrating that you are arguing about something with someone who has put absolutely zero effort into understanding the topic.

Just something to think about....
mrswhatwhat 1 year ago
@mrswhatwhat Actually, your body can't operate without brain function, because your brain stimulates your heart and every other organ that work interdependently of one another to maintain your body's function. Your brain is the conductor, signaling every other part of your body to do what it must to keep living. And you seem to suddenly jump from the physical heart to the philosophical heart in your statement, unless if you mean something else when you talk about "filling" it.
cerickNY 1 year ago
@mrswhatwhat In case you didn't realise, all this "follow the heart" crap is just that, crap. The heart is the organ that keeps the blood pumping around the body. The brain is what makes you think, so what you are actually doing is following your thoughts and ignoring scientific evidence. Before refusing to accept the science, learn it. I strongly believe that to evolve further as a species, we need knowledge, by refusing to accept science, we are holding ourselves back. Think about that.
TKDGSA 1 year ago
As I step back and watch this I have to take the spot light off of "scientific proof" and put it on "heart proof" I have to ask myself...what are Kelly and Brian debating for? Self...perhaps? And what are Kirk and Ray debating for? Just as an onlooker it looks like the aren't just trying to win for self justification...the difference? The peace and confidence that is in their eyes, their demeanor, their body language, their tone, it is not arrogant or cynical.

TheGoalSetter 1 year ago
@TheGoalSetter You make a strong point, however this debate delves into to the deeper discussion of Intelligent Design (ID) vs. evolution being taught in schools. The Way of the Master (TWotM) series blatantly argues for ID to be taught in schools. TWotM concept of ID was proven NOT to be scientific in Kitzmiller vs Dover Board of Education. Religion being taught as science is not credible, religion as a philosophy is credible and should be respected.

alienlifeform11 1 year ago
@alienlifeform11 The burden of proof is on the party that is trying to control me.
When politicians start oppressing me because of religious beliefs, then those religious beliefs are on trial (e.g., forced prayer in school).

@carterfamily8903 "All it takes to believe in evolution, is to close your eyes, turn off your brain, & imagine" - i can say the same for god!
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz You could say the same for every god. You could even say it about the one real God, but it would not be true, in that single case. To disbelieve God, is to close your eyes to all evidence of His creation, from the universe to seeds, to DNA etc. And to imagine that the endless details of creation, that make our lives capable of being fun, convenient, meaningful etc. Just happened to come about by chance.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 "but it would not be true, in that single case" Can you really not see how that is a complete fallacy?? You cannot sit there and say 'mine is the one true god cause i say so from looking around me'. A muslim could say the same about Allah, or a hindu about Brahma. And the very fact that our existence on this planet has come about by a chain of such improbability that it makes life all that more worthwhile and something to be cherished. I dont need god to enjoy life.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz If there is a true and living God, that created all that is, the way the Bible clearly indicates. Then all other gods are idols. Jesus claimed to be the only way to heaven. He was either a liar, or He was a lunatick, or He was the Lord God Almighty in human flesh, and is the only way to heaven. If there is a real heaven, do you think people could earn their way there, and demand and deserve it? Or would their only shot at heaven be, the grace of God"? Ephesians 2:8,9.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 You keep using 'if' as if you're not sure yourself, which makes me question the assertions you are trying to make. And the bible is no more evidence for the existence of god then harry potter is for wizards.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz I do not use the word if, because I am not sure, I use the word if, because you, or others may not be sure. The Bible is the word of God. I have staked my eternity on that, and left Mormonism because of it, which is what I was raised in, and what most of my biological family believes. The Bible is hands down, the most printed book in the world. There is no book that can compare in any way, prophetically, historically, or scientifically with it.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 Please do not assert that the bible is scientific or historic in any way shape or form, the only thing it might possibly prove is that a man by the name of Jesus may or may not have lived in the region of Judea at the beginning of the 1st century AD. Any high school history or science textbook provides far more evidence then the bible could ever hope to.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz Actually the Bible provides far more evidence than any high school or science textbook ever will. School books have much speculation, theory, and opinion of man. The Bible is simply the word of God, and is totally reliable and accurate, in anything it says, relating to history, archaeology, prophecy, science, how life works, how things came to be, and what will happen after we die.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 "Totally reliable and accurate??" So a talking snake caused man to 'fall from grace', Noah managed to fit two of every animal onto a wooden ark despite the fact that we are still discovering new species today, a man supposedly walked on water and cured the blind, we should persecute homosexuals just because it tells us too. Yes i can see how all of that is completely believable and moral; you are clearly deluded and I shall end the discussion here. Peace.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz Find me the verse in the Bible that says we should persecute homosexuals. I've read it over a dozen times, and I've never seen that verse. The hardest verse in the Bible to accept is the first one. If God created the heaven and earth, and everything in it, the rest is easy. There is no logical explanation for everything, outside of the Bible. All people come from Adam & Eve. All species of dogs, came from one set of dogs, that were on Noahs Ark.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 Humans evolved from apes and dogs evolved from wolves. However much you want to deny it and ignore the evidence, that is the truth.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz Well you can ignore the truth if you want to, that is your choice. You will meet God after you die, though, whether you like Him or not, or whether you believe in Him or not. You can tell Him how humans evolved from Apes if you want to, but He ain't gonna buy it. He created humans, and He created Apes, there is a world of difference between the two.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 The only person telling me im gonna meet god is you. And you only need to spend a day looking at and studying the behaviour of chimps and gorillas to see that we clearly share common ancestry. Just as you can look at dogs and wolves and clearly see the same thing.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz Did we evolve from a half parrot, half ape? Parrots can talk, monkeys and apes can't. Why haven't chimps built watches, rockets, computers, buildings, why don't they write books, or do math? I can disbelieve the Bible, and I could tell you you will not meet God, but the Bible is the word of God, whether I or you wish to believe it or not. It checks out, arhaeologically, historically, prophetically, experientially, and every way.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 Even if the bible is the word of god, which is almost certainly not true, please explain why god only chose to reveal it to mankind 2000 years ago, before which humanity had been worshipping 'false idols' such as the Egyptian sun god Ra or various Babylonian and Sumerian gods. Going even further back, did humans living 10,000, 20,000 or 100,000 years ago believe in god without his 'word'? Seems to me god missed a trick there.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz God spoke with Adam, and Eve face to face. They were the very first people on this planet. They taught their children. God spoke to Noah about 2458B.C. and told him to build the Ark. God spoke to Moses around 1445 B.C. and parts of the Old Testament, were being written shortly after that. The very people Moses led out of Egypt, continually ended up going after other gods. There were no humans, there was no earth 10000 years ago.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 But again you are using the bible as a history book, which it is not, and ignoring clear verifiable facts about the age of humankind and the planet. If you go to any natural history museum you will see will your very own eyes bones and fossils that are over 10,000 years old.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz The Bible is most certainly a history book, 100% accurate in it's history. Who was alive to see these bones or fossils 10000 years ago? Nobody. Radiocarbon dating does not work, there are videos right here on YouTube that explain why. Samples can be contaminated by such things as water and even heat. There is no factual date for anything over maybe 5-6 thousand years. It is speculation at best.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 100% accurate? dont make me laugh. The only source the bible uses is itself. No history, or indeed any educational, book today would get anywhere near being published with just one factual source. They corroborate facts and evidence from a multitude of different sources that either agree with each other or form the basis for a counter-argument. If the bible was first published today it would be laughed out of the bookstores.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz Actually the Bible is a collection of 66 books, by over 40 different writers, from all sorts of walks of life, all of the books support, and confirm each other, with no contradictions, even with the variety of writers, the Bible tells one continuous story, and all of it points to Jesus Christ. The history of the Bible is corroborated by all kinds of non biblical writings, histories, and is further backed up by archaeology from several cultures.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 No its not. There are extremely few non-biblical writings that mention Jesus, and the ones that do are vague and ambiguous. What archaeological evidence proves the bible?
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz No archaeological evidence proves the Bible, but there R 1000s of archaeological finds that verify the Bible, & what it says. Many were found, by using the Bible. You ought to look into the non-biblical writings about Jesus a little closer, if you think they R vague & ambiguous. They verify the major claims of the Bible about Him. He really lived, died, worked miracles, really died, & was reported to have rose from the dead.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago
@carterfamily8903 Well from a quick search it appears that most of the mentions of Jesus at the time have either been found to be forgeries or second and third-hand accounts that have been taken out of context. Also it seems that there were several Jewish men at the time claiming to be the messiah.
Dragonflamz 1 year ago
@Dragonflamz You ought to read the book "The Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel, a former atheist with a Master of Studies in Law degree from Yale Law School, he was also a journalist for the Chicago Tribune. He thought he could prove Christianity wrong, after his wife became a Christian, and instead of proving her wrong, found the real evidence proved her right. He even has some videos right here on YouTube, if you would like to watch them.
carterfamily8903 1 year ago

@carterfamily8903 Thank you for your kind response. Can you please provide examples of this 'extreme accuracy' (feel free to msg me)?

God is tot
