I've always preferred the Grimm's Brother's ending. They invite the evil queen to their wedding where they force her to wear hot iron slippers that have been sitting in the fire all day and force her to dance and dance until at last she drops dead. Love it! Oh but Vincent certainly steals the show doesn't he! <3
Don't worry princess. Soon you will be kissed by a handsome prince and ride off into the sunset to a place called Downton Abbey were you will have 3 daughters and spend you days trying to marry them off.
I like that they stuck to the original Grimm's tale when it came to Snow White awakening. In the original tale the prince never did kiss her. The coffin hit a bump when being taken to the prince's castle and the piece of poisoned apple came out of Snow White's mouth.
The evil queen relied on her beauty for dear life, and maybe she needed a boy-friend after her husband died. There was a psychosis of disillusion, and a loss of innocence. It's not hard to find. A lot of women want to be in full bloom, but love could have saved snow white. She felt betrayed at snow whites' features. It's unnecessary, but curable. Mercy is purity and perfection, beyond any shell. It was a mess, but a prince saved Snow White in the end.
So once the prince told his court magician about the evil queen, the magician decided to punish her secretly for her wicked deeds? And then the mirror was preparing to warn her about it.
PRINCE: "...And you and I will be married." SNOW WHITE: "Alright." LOL LMAO it's like she's so entranced she's thinking whatever u say ur hot lol just so funny. But really come on at least a first date before marriage.
@jtco3 They married that afternoon and that evening she found out about that third nipple he affectionately calls his 'nubby' and that he's a little short in the pleasure delivery business. x3
Moral of the story, kiddos: At least a first date before marriage.
@Ballira -- Seriously...at least in the Disney version, the Prince and Snow White had seen each other once before! We're supposed to believe the Prince and Snow White lived happily ever after even though they knew nothing about each other when they got married?? Riiiiiight. No wonder many women struggle with relationships, given all the fairy tale crap we're fed as little girls! (In all fairness, though, women back then didn't have much control over who they married.)
@OreadNYC I dunno. Even though they met at least once before in that version I still kind of question it. I found a great article on Cracked.com where someone wrote about the disney 'morals'. It was something about 'What disney says they're teaching and what it REALLY teaches'. And one of the 'real morals' was 'You saved my life so I'm obligated to marry you'. x3 Here he doesn't even do that. He's a bum that sits around all day strummin' that rockin' lute. XD
@Ballira -- Well, in the Prince's defense, he can afford to be a bum! After all, what exactly is he supposed to do all day? It isn't as if he needs to work for a living -- and most likely, at least one of his parents is still alive and running whatever kingdom he's heir to since the word "prince" usually refers to the (legitimate) son of a living ruler. However, I agree there's something distasteful about the idea of fairy tale heroines being obligated to marry men who rescue them.
The blackened mirrors are the best punishment for those cursed with vanity. In the original story, the Prince had the Queen wear hot iron shoes and dance until she died. This is even better.
Tsk tsk tsk. Vanity vanity vanity. It's no wonder it's a deadly sin.
Really? I thought it was that the Queen went to see the Prince's wedding and was so shocked at seeing who the bride was that she just collapsed and died on the spot.
@Garrettk41 Well, there are a lot of different version of Snow White as we know. The iron shoes are the Grimm version. Some of the more children versions is the death at the wedding. One version had her be cursed that made her turn ugly for the rest of her life and she died of madness. The Disney version, she falls off a cliff. But this version, I love it! Blackened Mirrors are an awesome way to kill one of vanity.
That's cool. Also, the Cannon Movie Tales version follows the wedding shock, only it's a bit different. The queen is suspicious from the start and goes to investigate. As she leaves her mirror begins to crack, and with each crack the queen ages a bit more. When she sees who the bride is, she turns and heads out of the castle. At that moment, the whole mirror shatters, and she falls apart on the spot.
As a little girl, this part always used to scare me. I'd hide under the covers by my parents when this scene came up (referring to the black mirror scene)
