I think the song is a helluvalot better if you treat the vampire theme as a metaphor as opposed to literal.

The whole vampire theme is an extended metaphor for how he feels about this person, to add a haunting quality to the song. Before they were glamorized, vampires would be thought to be scary, like the prospects of being with him. "Would you like to leave this human race tonight?" To run away with him, to be forever his. I think the song is a helluvalot better if you treat the vampire theme as a metaphor as opposed to literal.

holy fuck, people still are arguing about twilight? Like who cares what reminds who of what. Or what song is where! The song is beautiful and will always be beautiful! It could be in a barbie movie for all I care. It's not like I'll only be able to hear it in that movie! the song sounds the same. Well the song fits perfectly for a vampire. Wanting his love to live forever? That sounds like twillight lol. its not rocket science people. I will say this. Vampires and romance have nothing to do with each other. Ahh the mind of a woman, it just gets scarier and scarier the deeper you get.

I'm a fan of both Twilight and The Spill Canvas, but you have to realize, the songs that are on the soundtrack already were either chosen by the people who made the movie, or written were written by the artist for the movie. The Spill Canvas, whether they had intentions of relating it to a series or not is their choice, but to bash about it? It doesn't matter if you're a fan of Twilight or not.
We're all fans of The Spill Canvas here, aren't we?
