How do I stop the bass making a noise when I pull it down?

Hers isn't making any noise..

There should be a release button somewhere on the accordion. Usually it's on the side of the bass half, far up near the top. You can hit it with your thumb. The release button works similarly to a bass note, but instead has no sound.
