@benched4lyfe A player option simply means that the player gets to choose whether he wants the last year of his contract or not.

i played for the heat for 2 seasons where i won 2 titles.Then i got traded to the Celtics where i played my 3rd year.We ended up getting eliminated in the ECF.Then i had free agency.The Spurs offered me the most money,but to me it aint about money its about winning.The Bulls offered me the second most money.They had a good roster so i signed with them.Hopefully we can make a run in the playoffs

@212keith Look at your contract on your player card. That'll tell you how long your contract is.

@212keith When you first start my player mode your contract is three years (2 definite years plus one team option), so if you play terribly you have two years and if you do well you play three years. This guy is at the end of his 3rd season, which is when you can negotiate contracts. I usually just only play key games for a lot of the first two years to make it go faster and focus on improving my player in the third season.

How long does it take to gt really good? I'm a PG for the Rockets, averaging 15.1 PPG and 18 MPG in my rookie season. We're 8-8, and I'm just a 63 overall. How long will it take to finally be a good player? I can't stand shooting 30% every game.

Created a center like Shaq max size (7-2" 350 lbs) started at 62 overall. Drafted by the Knicks (yuck) Played at easy level (Pro). First 2 years played 5 minute games, then 3rd year played 12 minute games. Third year averaged 61 ppg,. Reached level 99. Got championship, MVP, Finals MVP etc. Knicks offered me 2 mil for 1 year. Could have signed with other teams for 14+ mil per year. Signed with OKC for 12.67 per for 5 years. Durant, Westbrook and Harden are all 90+ overall. We'll kick butt.

Is there really a difference when you join a team that offered you the "go to guy" roll compared to a regular starter?...

A go-to guy is somebody a team runs their offense through. Essentially, he's the first option (aka primary scorer), playing on the ball more often in clutch situations. Hence the term "go-to guy" (you GO TO him for big plays). He's the "Star."

A starter is less involved, playing a more off-the-ball type role. He's not as involved in the overall scheme as the go-to guy.

i played for the mavs the first 3 years. after leading them to 2 titles when i became a free agent they offered a contract 0f 1.07 mil for a year. the other teams offered around 10 to 14 million a year for a 4 or 5 year contract. i want to continue playing for mavs but definately not at tat price. this is no way to treat their star player. anyone had this problem?

Noah for a season [where we went to the finals]. Then he got traded for Greg Oden [a budy of mine from Utah]. @KenNorth310 Are you sure you understand options on a contract? It's 3 years because your team gets an option whether or not to keep you after the second year. After the third year you can leave or stay. It's not 2 years extra you after the first two years.

@cruz2410 Actually, I do understand the CBA, very well. A Rookie scale contract is 2+2+QO. Which means year 1 and 2 are fixed, year 3 and 4 are both team options (handled separately) and for the 5th year, the team gets to offer a qualifying offer, which gives them the right to match any salary he gets from another team.
