ABOUT THE RECONNECTION ISSUE: when the tablet goes to sleep, do not press connection button. this causes the well known bluetooth connection error. when this happens, you should delete the device from your bluetooth list and pair it again.
instead, press and hold function cycle button for about a second (the big circle button in the middle of the jogdial) to wake it up from sleep state. this method never caused any connection problems. at least on my computer (iMac). give it a try...
Hey I know this video is old but I am glad I watch it help me with my decision making when it comes buying the wired or wireless since I want one to use on illustrator and photoshop.
Lag, delete preferences and start over is the mantra for Bluetooth. A nightmare of support issues will frustrate you and kill your drawing time! Each computer seems to interoperate differently. New Lenovo with bundled BT doesn't work properly.
Hello Terry, is there a difference quality between using wireless connection and using USB connection? (And even between an Intuos4 non-wireless if you ever had one?) For example in sending sensitivity levels or further delays... Thanks a lot.
@terrywhitetechblog Terry, i read some posts on the official Wacom forum that say there is a lag/freeze for 1-2 seconds when switching between programs like Photoshop and Safari, due to OLEDs customized for the application. Even when in a program just clicking on the desktop.
@ermelljno I'm not seeing a lag. I can't speak to what others are seeing. Never even thought about a lag until you mentioned one. So what else can I tell you? Either buy one and try it for yourself or don't.
@terrywhitetechblog Wacom has recognized the problem and answered: "I am sorry, this is a limitation of the Bluetooth connection. There will always be some lag in Bluetooth/wireless mode due to significant bandwidth/throughput difference compare to the wired connection. There is no much we can do about it."
Ok Terry you're right. Thank you once more for your review.
i have a question..is this only via blutooth..i mean what if ur computer doesnt have blutooth..does it come with an adapter for wireless..like the usb one like in logitech wirelesss gadgets
You can buy a external bluetooth wireless adapter you just simply plug into one of your computer's USB Ports. I think they sell something like that at Radioshack, or pretty much anywhere with tech stuff.
Would you recommend something like this for someone starting out? I draw free handed (left handed), but never on a Wacom before. I like the fact that its wireless, I hate wires, I currently have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so maybe adding an extra bluetooth device would be an issue.
Also what kind of battery life do you get, I read it can get about 18 hrs on and off wireless. Lastly, can this function as a mouse with gestures similar to the bamboo. Thanks for the review.
@eazyslim123 Same with me, I'm an art student and I've never used a tablet before. Is using a tablet almost the exact same as using a pencil, etc. because I love the feel of using tools but Gorsh Dam-nit I am clumsy and messy
@terrywhitetechblog tablet ufortunetly send a lot information thru BT, mouse - olny xy coordinates... i also wondering if I can trust the wireless version...
Is the wacom driver working with os X Lion?

It's a shame there's no wireless version of the larger Intuos4.
Also, the Cintix don't appear to sell very well: too expensive for most.

Hi Terry, have 2 questions:
1 - Confirm that no have a delay cursor or lag movement in a mac with bluetooth inside? (I've an iMac 27 and MacBook Pro as like this video).
2 - How long the charge when was loaded?
Many thanks!!

@papolone
1. no lag whatsoever (that would be a deal breaker for me)
2. about 17 hours of use.

Do you think that it is worth the extra money? Or could you get away with a regular Intutos4? ( In your opinion :D )

Terry, is there any lag? Bluetooth is not very fast so sometimes it's slow. I hope it's fast!
