  • Beautiful loco, but I had to lol at the JCB powered turntable

  • Nothing can compare to the sights and sounds of steam.. Great video !

  • @dixiewife47 Glad you liked it!

  • beautiful engine

  • what locomotives are in that roundhouse at 1:36 ?

  • At 6:10, there is a diesel visible on the left that appears to be a Baldwin. What can you tell me about this engine?

  • God creates man, man creates steam engine. Gotta love the 425. Another great video!

  • And the 614 sits. Why don't the Reading and Northern guys run it like they do 425?

  • @PereMarquette1223 614 is in Clifton Forge, VA as of 2011.

  • @CSX6000 Oh ya, I remember now. Forgot about the video date. It's still there? NS never moved it back?

  • @PereMarquette1223 It's not coming back. It's staying down at Clifton Forge.

  • nice video adam....what type of whistle was this ???? it was great!

  • @eltonjohnfan100 CNJ 3 chime.

  • Adam, I can tell you now, that is NOT Ross Rowland. I've seen Ross's writing on other forums like RYPN, and this is definitely NOT him. Ross is extremely well-written and has near-excellent grammar and spelling. This guy can't even spell "assure" and I know Ross would have picked up on that.

  • @JohnnySTEAMstain I sent Ross a message on TrainOrders. Hopefully this will correct the issue.

  • When I went to Jim Thorpe last spring, the engine's second tender was in a siding! It was really cool

  • HaloCE14, " 614" Not in our life time.

  • My girlfriend even mentioned to me that the whistle in the beginning of the video reminds her of the horns from the movie "Silent Hill" haha

  • That is the most amazing steam whistle i've heard. I'd pay so much to own one of those

  • nice whistle very nice and loud

  • I know that this is a CNJ 3-chime, I'm just noting that it sounds the same notes as a PRR 3 chime. In the beginning it starts off sounding E, G, B then jumps to F#, A, D1 1st Inversion triad....which is the same double-chord music that Pennsy whistles are known for....so beautiful!

  • Does this engine have a stoker? If it doesn't then I don't know how the fireman keeps up with the speed of this engine!

  • @Bassfanatic94

    no stoker.....she is hand fired

  • @acdc9902 Wow that is surprising! I can't believe the fireman can keep up with this baby. They really get her fire going on the rails. That's unbelievable.

  • @Bassfanatic94

I work for the railroad, and i'm one of the regular fireman. It is a handful!

  • @Bassfanatic94 No stoker! All hand fired!

  • @CSX6000 You got me on-camera running like nuts to get the perfect shot of 425 starting at 4:28 in the video! XD FUNNY! Thanks for including me, Adam. I owe ya one.

  • Wonderful Videos!! When two or more modern diesel electric locomotives are working together, I think they "power synchronized", i.e., each does the same amount of work. How is is done when as in this video you have a vintage steam engine and a diesel electric on the same train? I love these videos; thanks for posting them.

  • Em sap greu que Youtube només permeti puntuar fins a 5 estels, ja que el seu vídeo se'n mereix molts més.

    *****

I feel that Youtube allows only rated to 5 stars, and your video deserves many more.

  • I moved to OKlahoma for work so I wont be able to see her for some time. Thanx for posting and keep it going.

Note - I love the new marker lights

  • wow i wish i could have ben there looked like she did it again what a fricken fantastic locomotive!!!!!!!!!

  • Very excellent video. Man, Fall colors and steam!! What a classic combination. Love it, dude. Great job.

  • Again the CNJ 3 Chime ABSOLUTELY ROCKS!!! The echoes in the first minute gives me the chills. It sure is beautiful whistle. And hands down the best in the country. You got a GREAT video camera to capture the echoes so good. This video 5 stars. And one of favorites.

  • @lovetoseesteam Thank you! I glad you like it that much!

  • A friend, I think his handle is Carytrain4501, sent me a link to this video. It's great. Thanks for sharing. Nothing like this around my hometown, Lineville, AL, namesake city of its CSX sub.

  • Fantastic footage ! Great video !

    Thanks for posting .

  • Not bad Adam, Not your best but it was ok.

    See you out next year.

    John

    Philladelphia, PA.

  • Thanks Len!

  • Hey Adam, If your thinking John is Lenny, your wrong.

John is a SEPTA Conductor, I met him a few times when I was riding with the West Chester Railroad Charters

    Stan

  • Wow Len, that's pretty cool that you know this SEPTA conductor. I know a SEPTA conductor too, but his name isn't John.

  • CSX6000 , I consider Len a friend with a good heart and a passion for railroading that is readily evident when you meet him.

To his credit he has done his level best to move the 565 project forward at Steamtown .

He may have challenges with grammar and punctuation and perhaps some other short comings...but he certainly doesn't lack passion and commitment to enjoying this thing called railroading.

I for one am richer to know him as a friend.

    Ross Rowland

  • @ChesapeakeOhio614 As far as anybody in this area is concerned, you have done yourself absolutely no favors by associating with Len Shaner. You'll understand as time goes on; don't say you weren't warned.

  • CSX6000,

I have known Mr. Shaner for close to 20 years , I'm not sure of the false rumors you have been fed, But I a sure you, You are wrong about what your thinking of Mr. Shaner. He has help me out in quite a few projects over the years.

Including my newest project "The Greenbrier Express".

As I stated before " I for one am richer to know him as a friend"

    Ross Rowland

  • @ChesapeakeOhio614 You know what I dunno if your Lenny impersonating Ross Rowland or that you actually ARE Ross Rowland. It doesn't matter, I stand my ground and I have other to back me up that Len Shaner is nothing but a fraud and will brown-nose anyway he can to get what he wants.

  • oh my, that was awsome very well done great shots. that locomotive (in my list)ranks 1st place 1st class loco first class video !!!thanks for the post

  • Got some good hard runnin shots. Nice shot with the 614 too. Looks like we could get a fire in her and run her. Gotta win the lotto first.

  • Excellent!!

  • Very nice video Adam... it is your best one yet!

  • hey adam you wouldn't happen to have footage from Oct 10th would you. cuz me and some members from NJLS rode the Oct 10th trip, and i think saw you chase the train at a few locations. then again im not sure maybe it was some kid who looked like you

  • I was chasing the RDG FP7s that weekend.

  • ok cool

  • One of these days I will get to see the four and a quarter..

  • Very nice, we got to shoot the tunnel on the morning run.

  • I saw, very nice!

  • Adam you have truly made another terrific video, one of the best, Fav and 5stars.

    Matt

  • Great video adam. Man that cnj three chime sounded great. I see myself to the right of the track in the black sweatshirt in new ringgold. 5*'s

  • Awesome, Thank You! for posting!

  • Love the whistle and when it blows smoke into railfans faces.

  • The echo from this Whistle is insane.

  • Nice, not much of any foliage, but that doesn't matter, any running of the 425 is a good one. I wish I could have made it. :-(

  • nice shot with the 614 in the background - another awesome video!!

  • If you were to close your eyes and listen, you would think that you are listening to a much bigger engine, say a Berkshire or a Northern.

    5's and a fav.

  • Epic Rail.

Simply awesome, Adam. Nothing more in words to say

  • 425 RULES

  • That engine chuffs louder than anything else doesn't it! Sweet C&O at 2:10

  • I agree, but where did it come from? Does R&N own it?

  • @jlvr6racer Own what? The steam engine?

  • the Chespeake and Ohio engine, sorry for not being specific

  • @jlvr6racer Oh the 614; no. Ross Rowland (kinda) owns that but has nowhere to store it, so it'll probably sit in Port Clinton for another decade.

  • Oh ok, well thats a shame, its a beautiful locomotive
