You Guys At The FSA should Provide Infos About Nutrition Based Only On Real Science And No Conflict Of Interess And No Junk Science Like You Do On Your WebSite And Your Adverts.. The Obesity Epidemic book by Zoe Harcombe is Dadicated Entirelly To U Guys! Enjoy!!
Saturated Fats Are So Important For Our Good Health! they r not called Essential because our body can make them from carbs and extra protein, But We Must Eat Them!! Do Your Own Research And you Will Understand Better! Just Because Goverment Say Something We Do Not Have To Belive!!
Bullocks! Eating saturated fat does NOT cause build-up of fatty deposits in arteries, nor does it lead to heart disease. This type of government propaganda is absolutely despicable. The government has no right to dictate to anyone what they should or should not be eating. It should abandon this perpetual war on the lipids, the sole purpose of which is the preservation of power of a select (and incompetent) few.
Utter crap. Even a tiny bit of research will tell you the the deposits in arteries are free cholesterol, cholesteryl oleate and cholesteryl linoleate. The latter two being esters produced from unsaturated fat. Saturated fat therefore does not clog the arteries.
Saturated fat stored in the fridge would be soild. You wouldn't be able to pour it down the sink. If it is liquid in the fridge it is not going to set solid in the pipe.
And do they not realise there is a process called digestion?
There is no evidence to prove eating natural fats are bad for you. On the contrary it has been proven that sugar is the biggest culprit to bad health. Are the food standards people linked to Kellogs,Nesles etc etc? Read Atkins,I did and it saved my life.
This (UK) Department of Health advert about saturated fat must me the most scientifically illiterate adverts I have ever seen. Comparing our vascular system to household plumbing is so stupid.
Can they post details of just one high-quality (double-blind, randomised trial) to support this claim? And, please dont mention the Framingham Study it hasnt, to date, found a dose-related response between saturated fats and ANY ill-health.
I think whoever thought of this commercial is high on something and it ain't saturated fat.
