here is the way my teacher taught me, it rolls off the tongue easily: her(H), he(He), lee(Li), beb(Be,B), canofnee(C,N,O,F,Ne), namgal(Na,Mg,Al), sip(Si,P), schlar(S,Cl,Ar), kayceeay(K,Ca)

Putting that all together is: her, he, lee, beb, canofnee, nam, gal, sip, schlar, kayceeay. can go to: schertiv(Sc,Ti,V), cromum (Cr, Mn), Fercoenee(Fe,Co,Ni), cousin (Cu,Zn)

If you want to memorize the rest, do the transition metals separately

Its really not all that hard. In fact, learning the order of a bunch of random words AND learning which element matches which word is actually MUCH harder than just learning the words themselves. That's like trying to memorize pi by memorizing a poem where each word represents only one digit.

hey, i've got a better way.

Just grind.

i memorised the whole thing (118 elements) in about a month, at about thirty minutes a day. i have a forty minute recess at school (i'm in sec 2 (grade 8) now, so its longer than primary school.) i just repeat 4-5 elements and then combine it with what i already know. its really quite fun after a while.

sometimes, though i forget a bit and have to go over it again. i'm currently memorising the weights. i'm up to neon now, and its only been three days.
