  • That used to happen to me but I fixed it some how

  • I have something similar happen to me, I play and my drums randomly reset. I can see the lights flickering on my drums from the corner of my eye while I play and no notes register at all for about a second and a half. It really pisses me off! I tried the cardboard thing and I even put thumb tac so I KNOW nothing would move and it still just flickers and comes back on. I can never FC a song again!

  • to me it looks like the notes it skips are when you hit the note late, the thing is that rock band changes the amount of time you can be late with he note depending on the level the beat trainer has it on the easiest level, but when you have medium it shortness the amount of time

  • i just got ps3 (was playing RB 1 and 2 on ps2 for a while with my ion drum rocker...no problems) and we just got a new hdtv as well. Having so much trouble calibrating...i spent hours last night trying to get it just on RB1 with the manual calibration feature....anyone have any suggestions to make this easier??

  • i downloaded ps3 games free on my PC. Google "ps3 zappy download" and click the first link you see. It's a super-excellent website! All the latest ps3 games are there for download on the "ps3 zappy download" site!

  • Take it from an expert drummer, your hitting the pads too hard, and its shaking the drumset, and setting off other pads, causing you to break your combo.

i recommend hitting softer, or buying guitar hero world tour drums. theyre the best kit you can get, without paying like, 90-500 bucks.

    lolol

  • @DemonicDragon5 but then why doesn't it happen in drum trainer??? Just wondering....cause he's hitting the drums just as hard in the drum trainer section so they should be malfunctioning there as well.

  • @sfservice75 it does happen in the drum trainer, but setting off other notes doesn't affect the fact that he'll hit 100% of other notes. his combo doesn't go up in the drum trainer, so how can he break it? if you have a guitar solo, and you strum 34 too many times, but still hit all the notes, you'll get 100% on the solo.

    thats how i think. ;)

  • @sfservice75 they are. its just that, his combo doesn't go up in the drum trainer, so theres no way he can break it. the other pads are setting off. think like this. if you hit all the notes in a guitar solo, but you strum waay too many times, you'll still get 100% on that solo. in this case, his drums are setting off other pads, but he's still hitting all the notes and getting 100%

its not a software glitch. just the force of him hitting the pads is shaking the drumset, setting of other pads.

  • @DemonicDragon5 oh ok....I see what you're saying...on my ion set I feel like I have to hit them way harder than I did the regular rockband set or hits don't register...maybe I'm just not hitting them in the perfect spot..like right in the middle.....so DemonicDragon do you have any advice for my calibration nightmare??? I did hook it up with the HDMI cable and it helped considerably but still need tweeking.

  • @sfservice75 on ions, you have to hit alot harder. even thought i dont have a set, i know that much. :P

also, just go into the calabration settings, and set it manually.

its really easy, just remember to keep on beat, and you'll be fine.

if you hit even slightly off beat ONE TIME restart the whole thing. better calabration = better drumming.

ps, sorry for the two comments. it told me that one didnt register. o.O and, yes, but on ION's, it doesnt really matter where you hit them. not the rim tho

  • Your hitting them too hard thats why... soften up man

  • It double hits the pads, they seem to be very sensitive. xD

  • I used to have the same problem I replaced my rockband drums for the drum kit from Guitar Hero (who sucks by the way it's full of missfunctioning) and send my drum kit from rockband to repair, when it came back i didin't had the problema anymore, maybe your drum kit is not functioning right i recomend you to open your drum kit and see if theres any broken cable or something like that.

  • the only reason why you was missing so many notes at the end of the song is because you were hitting the rim of the drumset

  • boring

  • ur good at the drums i suck at them

  • this isnt even calibrated to begin with

  • u like the idea of rock band but the drums and mainly the guitar are so poorly made it sucks playing the game because you need to be careful with them or they break on you

  • fuck off ps3s better than 360 they melt?! if you hav ps3 and buying guitar hero metallia as well add mypsn Timman12

  • Well if it hits every note in the trainer no matter how fast you go, and then drops on actual songs. Don't you think it's more of the game itself and not the drums? I have no idea myself. I'm ponder if I should either get the RB2, RB1, or GHWT drums to go with my Guitar Hero Metallica game and extra bass pedal that comes with the pre-order.

  • software implies the game is the problem, hardware would be the drums themselves....

  • yeah from what i can tell it accepts the note but drips his star power or what ever it is but it would be with the game and if its on the ps3 version it would do the same for the 360

  • My RB2 drum pads just stop working at all. I have to turn it off, and then turn it back on for it to work again, which usually takes long enough for me to fail a song.

  • My RB2 drums always disconnect while Im playin. I had the battery FC coming, but no the stupid drumset disconnects and I fail

  • I don't think it's a software issue, as you had no problem at first, but then you did the second time. It's got to be something input related, and 2 possibilities come to mind:

    1) As someone else said, crosstalk. It could be due to the velocity of your hits, the position or angle that you strike the pad, or something else.

    2) Bass pedal false triggering. I have this problem. It's easy to accidentally double trigger the bass pedal, which breaks your streak.

  • I'd should also mention, notice that your notes aren't being missed. They are exploding, indicating the game recognized you hit it (otherwise they'd slide down past the energy bar. So it's obvious your problem is not missing notes, but detecting false triggers. Again, cross talk and bass pedal doulbe triggering are probably the most likely candidates.

  • same on my xbox360 i got ion drums and it justs drops notes randomly -.- its a bitch and i want you nerds to fixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx it thanks xxx

  • looks more like crosstalk of the pads than misses to me, could be because you move your hands way more in a song than in the beat trainer, so you are not hitting the pads at the same place all the time and hitting in more at the border, causing other pads to react when they shouldn't

  • this is why the PS3 sucks

  • fuck you

  • I think theres something wrong with rb2 cause the drums are fine and even though my hdmi code sucks rb1 works just fine but on 2 i have to calibrate it ever 5 minutes..

  • same problem with the ps3 drop beats >______>

i also have a problem with the connecter thing where u connect the grey thing to the ps3, the light blinks but its dim and its not as bright as the other one for the guitar/bass. But eventually it lits up and glows bright red

  • does it run on battieries for ps3

  • Yes
