I don't care if they look in character or not. What matters is the direction of the show. Their acting wasn't realistic. (let's leave the part where it's supposed to be magical and eerie). But the parts where they bully her are too unrealistic. They could still do better.

@lechauchau That's in the english dub of the anime because the sentence "Do you what to know what death is like?" wouldn't fit the lip-sync in english probably. I also like "Perhaps it is time to die?"

Sadly, I don't think Hell Girl had a lot of fans because season 2 and 3 were released in US by another company and is subbed only. I don't mind to watch subtitled anime, but I thought Funimation did a good job dubbing it.

OK, I'm new to this show. I can grasp the whole girl-ferries-to-hell thing, but was there ever an incident where the guy getting revenge was the actual evil, and the person he's "taking revenge on" was innocent? Or do they actually do a judging on someone's soul before doing this?

Like just about everyone else I liked the anime better but I'll watch this too. The live version just doesn't evoke the same feelings in me that the anime did. When I stumbled onto the anime Ai's big red eyeballs was one of the things that hooked me. The actress playing Ai just doesn't do it for me.
