Definitely a HD upgrade, and with a few other upgrades tossed in as well I see; more ships to play as and to fight as well? Sweet.

I remember playing a demo of this on the classic PSX. Good job guys. Looks a hell of alot better, and no loss in gaming quality. Takes me back; when games were more about the quality of gameplay, than graphics-centered. Then again, this was also an awesome arcade game anyhow on it's own (and these never get old).

Oh men, i really LOVE this game! I still have the only 2 games they released from this series for the PS1. The first is this one, an the other one is called "Raycrisis: Series Termination", which is an awesome follow-up too with added ships and weapons. Hope they can make a "Thunder Force V" or "Einhander" remake too, which i also happen to have. :)

JUST A REMINDER: RayStorm HD does not have Stage Select. It can only be unlocked if you have a Japanese version. US version had their's removed by Taito because 13 Planes caught a virus, making it impossible to complete.

mmm the memories i only played the demo 13 years ago but these 2 d scrollers are epic. yesterday i picked up raiden fighter aces from game stop after playing Raiden 4 for  the priceof $ 15. I seen a same plane from Raiden fighter aces.

It's out in the US and sadly, many of the achievements are fake thanks to 13 ships. Stage Select cannot be unlocked either. It's true.

The difficulty for RayStorm doesn't change. The PSone version of RayStorm of the US version was localizedly murdered by high difficulties. RayStorm HD is actually the port of the original US version. What more can I say?

Eh...snore. I've already seen Raystorm in HD on my PC using the ePSXe emulator. It looks pretty much like this. I'll play it for free instead of buying a 360. That's a better price.

Just re-bought the PS1 version, I can't put it down, It is one of the best shooters out there. I havent even looked on the PSN yet to see if the HD version is there, they better release it in outside of Japan. xD

The graphics are most definitely upgraded. I recently uploaded some gameplay of the PS1 Raystorm, and the difference in detail is incredible.
