  • You unhook the brake booster vacuum line and deliver 1/3 of the can's contents through there, 1/3 in the crankcase a.k.a. pour it in the oil fill plug and the last 1/3 in the fuel tank. That might make it a bit easier for you

  • Shouldn't the smoke be more white? I pulled up to AutoZone in my custom Accord and the guy at AutoZone who drives a sick SVT Cobra said if I buy a case of Seafoam from him and add a lb. of white rice to my gas tank then the rice will draw out moisture in the engine and will aid in the process of breaking down the carbon. I did that and now my engine wont start.

  • just did it to my crown vic, LOT of smoke but it definitely runs better now. good vid.

  • does it really work?

  • ok so i have a 99 grand am wih 163., some odd miles and i know the cat needs replaced would this work for my car or would i mess up my car ??????

  • ok so i have a 99 grand am wih 163., some odd miles and i know the cat needs replaced would this work for my car or would i fuck up my car ??????

  • shaggy drives a mustang?

  • can't beat the sound of a mustang revin

  • YOUR CAR IS A BEAST. I LIKE IT. I HAVE ONE TO.

  • seafoam haters up in this piece.

  • No need for a straw. Just put the rubber hose into the bottle and tip.

  • I did this when selling my car. Only the person coming to look at it showed up as i was about to start it after seafoaming... needless to say they didnt buy the car.

  • half the can is a bit much but it seemed to work 4 u i use 1/3 then the next day i do 1/3 again

  • Hey man, did you see any difference with using the seafoam? I got some, but debating whether or not to do it in my stang. I'm just nervous it will mess something up.

  • someone shoulda been in the car reving it up

  • I think people r liking the smoke more than the cleaning effects...lol

  • arent you suppose to put some in the gas tank and oil as well? im not to sure?

  • Stereo sounds good.

  • god that sounds so good.

  • nice hair dude, groovy shaggy!

  • doesnt look too good for the air, but who gives a shit clean engine!!

  • All it did was clean out the exhaust. Combustion is fast. IT cleaned what ever it could. pour that shit in the gas tank and run it for awhile

  • I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps fuel inj. and tank clean and rustfree

  • You did good. Don't worry about all the negative assholes with their comments. Every vehicle is different and every mechanic goes about doing the job differently.

  • im not to sure but it would be best to use a applicater tool for fuel injectors they have them at auto shops i have 1 and it says if the car stalls wile inserting the liquid you have to take out the spark plugs and crank the car for a few seconds then restart the car not doing this will result in engine problems.

  • @prinston35 I did it didnt I? You aren't real bright are you

  • @prinston35 it doesn't have to be done like that. As long as you keep your finger on the vacuum line it wont die and as the car sucks the seafoam is SUCKED into the engine the idle increases on its own... you really should call people out when you don't really know what's going on

  • @prinston35 hey asshole if you notice i had unplugged a vacuum hose and thats why it would start.... how would i have loaded it with cleaner if it wasnt running. dont be such a dipshit

  • got thats got to be good for the air

  • @blazerhard1 its better for the air then a dirty engine would be over a long period of time. plus, all the carbon is burned before it reaches the exhaust.

  • Seafoam is a patrolium product desighned for upper cylider lubrication. Back when we had carborators we would take transmission fluid & slowly pour into the carb while engine is running for the same reason, increase the rpm so it wouldn't kill the engine. This gave me the idea to build a smoke screen device filling a bottle & running an on/off valve inside the car leading out to a manifold vacume intake. Works far better than James Bond's smoke screen device. I could smoke out a 6 lane highway

  • @GlobalAwareness2525 see this is why i love hangin out with the old muscle car guys (dad and his friends) a six pack of bud and old school gears heads makes for a good afternoon

  • How long does The smoke last?

  • @Mr95mustangv6 like 5mins. the most helpful part is putting 1/3-1/2 of the can in your oil. Frees up all the sludge. i did it before i put heads/cam on and my engine looked brand new when i took it apart. yet it had 86k miles on it.

  • holy shit man

  • What does this do for your car, I know stupid question, but this is the first time i've ever seen this. You learn something everyday on youtube.lol

  • I did the seafoam thing on my car and it ruined the O2 sensor. Cost me $200 to replace it.

  • @MeOnYT you should prove it. if you think seafoam ruined your O2, then they should replace it as Seafoam is guarateed to not hurt the O2 sensor. Your the first person I have ever heard say it wrecked a sensor.

  • Is it normal for a car to smoke like that?

  • do you hav to drain your oil after u pour seaform in your oil

  • that looks alsome at 3.20 - 3.25

i would drive around like that. lol

  • Fucking over Ricers Daily

  • The best way to do this is so fuckin' simple: Put the seafoam in a spray bottle, and mist spray it into the vacuum line.

  • Since that Mustang has a K&N filter system, I would have simply removed the filter from the intake tube, loosen all the clamps, then point the intake directly upwards and poor it in. The Sea Foam will still get in there and do it's job & the car won't want to die due to a vacuum leak. Intake first, vacuum lines are a second choice. That's only my opinion though. Whatever works.

  • Did your car felt better?

  • why did u squeeze the tube after u poured it in?

  • @PAID2BSAVAGE Prevent the engine from dying due to a vaccuum leak.

  • when u use seafoam in the brake booster you need to keep the line blocked up a bit so it has vacuum pressure else it will die like that xP

  • atleast not as hard as given a child their medicine. cars will take there medicine.

mustang old enough to smoke ?! ha ha

seafoam is cool stuff i used in my xt6.

  • Mopar has a combustion chamber cleaner in a spray can that works alot better.

  • this shit actually works good. in everything.

  • i'd be looking into some motor mounts if you already haven't :P. .. good tutorial, nice smokeshow

  • you have to sit and rev it man while you do it

  • iTS BETTER TO DRIVE IT THAN REV THE PISS OUT OF IT....

  • its alive.....ITS ALIIIIIIVE!!!!

  • he's a pro mechanic

  • dosnet that fuck up ur engine

  • what is the point of seafoaming a car?

  • Was there seafoam in it when you tried starting it?

  • I sense much frustration

  • you engine mounts look like they need to be replaced.

  • what the hell is seafom and what does it do

  • @ford1979truck seafoam clean out the motor and reseals the rings among other things i noticed a big boost in power after i did it in my datsun z.

  • @ford1979truck it cleans the carbon out of ur engine... dont do it alot tho

  • Change your oil soon after because the seafoam breaks it down.

  • @heatherandpaul2 I keep hearing this, but how and why? Seafoam is a petroleum product.

  • An engine will not run without the PCV value connected. You're a retard and you look like such a dork

  • @sssk2000

    You sound jealous....grow up kid.

  • Why do you guys let Napolian Dynamite work on your car?

  • @MUDLUVSME hahaha that's badass

  • good job napoleon

  • Please tell me you had a wardrobe and effects studio make it look like 1982.

  • is your mustang automatic? cuz it doesn't look like you're reaching your foot in to hit the clutch

  • yes its an auto

  • @doubleostang weak!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @4everlakers24 your mom is weak in bed

  • Flip Over Read Directions, to start it, its a FORD.

  • you supposed to do 1/3can in the gas 1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in the vacume line

  • did you seafoam it for a reason? Do you have carbon build up, did you do a compression test and get high readings. Seafoam isn't needed unless you have alot of carbon build up (dirty engine). I don't get why so many people use this, I bet 90% of them don't need it.

  • Question im not a big mechanic but how would you know if you got carbon build-up??

  • This worked fine with my Porsche 911 S great results...

  • @oddsource yea totally, my Ferrari F50 runs smoother now XD

  • do new cars in the us still have carbs??? please say you don't....

  • not since the 80s

  • @doubleostang cars after the 80s were still carbrated

  • @DIENAMICProductions none that iv ever seen

  • @doubleostang pretty much all cars up to 1986 with the exception of a few were carberated... do some research

  • @ivanruiz89 yep yep

  • @doubleostang Well, some 1990 model american cars still used carbs. But most euro cars started using fuel injection in the 1970s :)

  • @doubleostang 1991

  • @saffronwales does that look like a carb and you wouldnt even know what a vehicle was unless america made them so stop being retarded like you didnt know we dont use carbs anymore

  • no except for race cars lol

  • @saffronwales most motorcycles do

  • @saffronwales Not consistently since the 70s, really... But fuel injection has been available as an option or aftermarket add-on since the mid 50s.

  • @saffronwales

i like carbs... i was actually considering converting my 87 trans am from fuel injection to carb...

  • 1/3 of the can into your brake booster vacuum tube at high idle (this guy had the right idea with the PCV tube, it just takes longer and sometimes more goes on the ground than your motor) then at idel you add enough to stall the motor, once you do that, and you let it sit for 5-10mins you add 1/3 to the crank case and the rest into your fuel. then you start your car, don't rev it, let it do it's job, your only rushing the process by revving

  • youre supposed to put a vacuum line directly into the can...not try to pour it into the line like ive seen alot of clowns do on these videos

  • @Cordtus Actually, they pour it because that keeps you from hydrolocking the engine, if you put the entire line in the can your engine is sure to die right away!

  • what the hells wrong with ur car?

  • I'm gonna tell you right now..... this shit is AMAZING I promise you it will make your car run better!!!! Stop fucking worrying about doing it and just do it!!!!!!

  • @wpayton0034 We can't get that stuff in the UK, the closest we have is REDEX. It goes in the sparkplug holes and cleans the engine out. Not sure about diesel cars, I use an additive called "Millers Diesel Sport 4" which cleans out carbon slower than seafoam. I would rather do it slowly over a week or so. You can mix seafoam as 1/3 to the tank, 1/3 to the oil and 1/3 to the intake. Then wait for smoke to clear and change the oil & filter etc. It can damage older cars by dislodging bits!

  • I have seen some sold on ebay from someone in swansea who imports it from america

  • unless you have alot of carbon build up it is not good for your motor because it is so combustable that it burns the oil off of the cylinder walls causing unneeded wear especially to a good fresh engine like that. people think that it makes their cars run better because it boosts the octane in the gas when they add it to the tank. its fine to add a can to the tank before you change the oil in a newer engine but putting it directly in the cylinder during combustion is not good for it.

  • @brandoneastin90 THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HEAR ABOUT THIS SEAFOAM THING. SO ITS SUPOUSED TO CLEAN THE MOTOR IF U ADDED IN THE GAS TANK? I KNOW STUPID QUESTION BUT I SWEAR I HADNT HEARD ABOUT THIS

  • is that bad for the car

  • @sonycanadian

It's good for the engine if you have high miles and alot of carbon buildup, its not so good on your Catalytic Converter and o2 sensors.

  • it's not bad for cats and o2 if done correctly. most of the smoke comes from the superheating of the carbon built up in the cats.

  • What part of "safe for use on all makes and models of vehicle. Will not harm harm catalytic converters." don't people understand. READ THE BOTTLE BEFORE ASKING THE SAME QUESTIONS THAT ARE ANSWERED ON THE PRODUCT.

  • careful not to fast you can hydro-lock the motor

  • Just got some, going to use on my Clio 1.2 RL tomorow :).. but because it doesn't have fuel injection system should i just use air intake?

  • i dont know what car that is but it needs to be sucked through a vacuum line... use the brake booster line

  • @spilfster you dump 1/3 of the can into your carb at high idle, then at regular idle you add enough to stall it, add 1/3 into your crank case then the rest into your fuel, start anf let it run at idle till the smoke it gone.

  • I don't think that seafoam hurts catalytic converters, it actually cleans them. So no worries mate.

  • Its alright to do on a newer car like this but on an older one you can seize the engine because there can be so much shit built up that itll completely clog it up when it comes loose.

  • Naw, it won't hurt to use this stuff in older vehicles. Used to pour this stuff down carburetors all the time. Just make sure to adjust the idle up and pour a little at the time. Might smoke up the neighbors though, lol!!!

  • Yeah, I wouldn't trust the shit in an old car or a car with high mileage. What happens when this crap knocks a big carbon deposit loose and clogs up an oil passage? For my 2001 Supercharged Buick Park Ave, I'd consider it, tho.

  • sorry me i dont understand what the idea of this smoke ? just for fun or what

  • it cleans the injectors and such

  • @Danmark1970 no, its liquifying all the built up shit in the engine, and burning it all, and burning the sea foam too. so it just creates a whole lotta smoke when tis burning all that shit outta there. after its done blowing all that crap out it runs better and it has way better performance

  • Nice Job, the only thing I would suggest is next time take the car for a high RPM drive instead of just revving the engine. Also do this to ALL cars, even that Aerostar back there, this stuff isn't just mean for sports cars. Your engines will love it!!!

  • OMG i LOL'd dude you look like andy dick... especially at the begining

  • yeah your only like the millionth person to say that. i have only gotten that on this video never in person

  • I would imagine after this, the cat converters wouldn't be any good, unless they're directly hooked up to the smog pump

  • this year doesnt have a smog pump

  • Doesn't hurt the cats

  • haha..do this on a stop..

  • yea show that environment whose boss. hahaha jk

  • 2000

  • There's a great writeup about seafoam at mechdb com. Has instructions info on how it works.

  • an easier way to do it is to have a friend start the car while u have the line already blocked with ur thumb than slowley use ur thumb as a valve guide and pour the seafoam in there

  • what is the point of sea foam

  • if it does that to carbon,

it also does something to the gaskets.

  • heheh, it's napoleon dynamites dad! Seafoam rules.

  • I swear by this product. I've been using it for two years on my 1998 Mitsub. Montero Sport (115K miles). Many many many mechanics & friends tell me the runs extraordinary good. That's because with every oil change I add a pint or can into the gas tank and about 1/3 can into my oil crank case a couple of days before I change the oil.

  • did it work as good as they say it does?

  • Can you put seafoam in a turbo car ?

  • damn that engine nearly jumped out of the car

  • Real bad for the enviroment

  • i just used seafoam and its great i was shiocked at how good it is ...

  • There is a BG induction service that works a whole lot better man

  • i did this to a toyota inline 4 that had a lot of kms on it and holy shit it smoked 10x more than this and longer after it gained almost 15hp LOL

  • lmfao if i ever did that one of my neighbors would be calling the fire department.

  • Seafoam more cleans the combustion chamber exhaust and cats more than the injectors. You suck it threw you brake boaster vac hose into the intake. You do it slowly so you dont hydro lock your engine. After its in you turn the engine off let it set for 15 mins,in this time it turns all the carbon build up to liquid. When you crack the car it burns it all out with a massive cloud of white smoke. This clears up in about 10 mins or running or driving,it is suppose to bring your engine back to new

  • and does it really work ?

  • You posting this on every seafoam video on here?

  • What is hydro locking your engine mean?

  • @Lingerfoot when there is to much water in ur motor and ur motor freezes up wont happen even if u put like 3 cans in there but dont do 3 cans only 1/2!!!!!

  • when liquid gets into the combustion chamber which stops the piston which in turn stops the whole engine as liquid is not compressable

  • Seafoam and Switchfoot, good combo.

  • looks like it's be fun as a prank. Pour a whole bottle in someones gas tank and watch the whole office laugh.

  • doesnt work the same in the gas tank

  • actually to fully clean it youre supposed to put it in your gas tank

  • that is a switchfoot song playing in your car. the blues?

  • yes

  • and what is the point of this white smoke? I' till dont get it

  • its all the carbon build up in ur engine. Sea foam burns it all up and makes the engine perform as it were new. MPG an HP goes up to what it was to when it was new 2

  • That white smoke is the cleaning process. The sea foam cleans out the carbon built up in the engine and comes out as thick white smoke.

  • i always wondered why people inject Seafoam using the vacuum method. Why not spray it into the intake while idling or put 2 bottles in 1/4 of a gas tank

  • One question: Has anybody actually considered if this "Seafoam" product actually burns off carbon? Cause I know for a fact that carbon deposits once burned off, give off a black smoke. It looks like what the seafoam does is the same process as when your engine starts off cold during the winter time. Hence the white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

  • it gets rid of the stuff that holds the carbon together. Then the carbon comes out in the form of small particles and flakes when you go for a drive.

  • depends, drag yes because of the torque converter, however, in a race, a 5 speed without the syncros in a race on the track,= zero shift time, just don't miss you're shifts.

  • Nice car!

  • you sir are an iddiot... its quite funny watching a iddiot who doesnt know anything about cars work on an american pos

  • says the guy spelling idiot with two d's

  • +1 doublestang. lol

  • uh are you kidding... you can never shift faster than an auto. you may be right about a stock auto but built with a good torque converter...you wont win in a straight line

  • i guess if you dont like speed then automatics are pretty gay but truth is that youll never shift faster than an automatic. if you put the same car head to head with the only difference being the trans the auto is going to win ever time in a straight drag. so stop making dip shit comments

  • don't you hate how people with manual drive think their cars are better than people with autos?

  • i know right... i know how to drive a 5 speed just as well as the next guy but autos are still faster.

  • no way, 5 speed is way faster, auto is better for daily driving though, and in drag racing applications where you have 700+ hp

  • fail... autos are still faster... you might be able to come close to a stock auto but a built tranny is gonna spank you.

  • come close? Stock gt 5 speed vs stock gt auto = 5 speed all day. Sorry man but unless you have a crazy stall and a ton of horsepower not a chance.

  • Stock GT 5 speed VS Stock GT auto = Auto All day. Go Ahead and argue with me I own 2 GT mustangs and even when my 90 GT was stock it was still faster than my 88 convertible GT. My 90 mustang GT has blown the doors off of so many 5 speed mustangs it is ridiculous. Stock Auto does a 1-2 gear change at about 65. Top of second is about 100 mph in the auto. Top of second gear in the stick car is about 75. If you live near Ocala, Fl hit me up and well put this myth to the test so you can see.
