Dear Pastor Manning, LTC Lakin is a commissioned officer, not an enlisted man. As a commissioned officer, the good colonel could have resigned his commission at any time. The Colonel disobeyed a lawful order by not deploying with his unit. He made that decision and is now dealing with the consequences. According to the U.S. Constitution only the States have authority to Commission Officers, not toe Federal Reserve nor the Federal Government.
