i was at the ny comic con this past saturday and i sat in a panel about the importance of music scores in film,i forget who the 3 composers were that talking 2 us but he mentioned e.t and the music like from the scene,i smiled when i thought of this scene

I can't recall who exactly said this, but the image of them going past the moon was declared one of the most magical moments in cinema history. Steven Speilberg chose all the right camera angles to fit the music. The result? Chills down my spine.

It does make sense, in fact. I have read this piece in the E.T book (released in 1982 along with the first release of the movie) and it says that though it was a fun ride for Elliot and Lance (his nerd friend that never got into the movie version), both kids were extremely frightened. Think. Different people do different things in different situations. It probably made him feel better to keep on moving the pedals.

The title is wrong its the 2002 bike scene becuase E.T. does not smile in the 1982 one and also when they go by the moon Elliott's jacket is flowing in the 2002 one it's not in the 1982 one so the title should be called E.T.-Bike scene (2002)

This scene, in fact this whole movie still gives me chills. Definately Spielberg's masterpiece. Wish more movies like this were made. Every once in a while I watch just this scene and it still inspires me. Probably one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history. No CGI, just pure imagination the way it should be. Avatar could learn a thing or to from E.T

I know, right?! I started watching it at around that same age and I am now, more than I ever was, interested in ANYTHING E.T. I love the movie, I love the books, I want to try at least one of the games, and I LOVE the ride! <3 Its my FAVORITE one at Universal. :) I have an E.T from that ride's gift shop, too. A life sized one that talks- the last one they had ever made of that kind. :) I have an E.T collector's glass, too. <3 And I have a question for you... In my next reply.
