@Zacharysharkhazard how can you have a phobia of things that havent even been witnessed, its like saying i have a phobia of fairies stealing my teeth.
i was at the ny comic con this past saturday and i sat in a panel about the importance of music scores in film,i forget who the 3 composers were that talking 2 us but he mentioned e.t and the music like from the scene,i smiled when i thought of this scene
this scene always gave me goosebumps! the music is so powerful and uplifting! one of the most memorable in film history! they just dont make films like this anymore!!! the magic has been lost from movies these days!
I can't recall who exactly said this, but the image of them going past the moon was declared one of the most magical moments in cinema history. Steven Speilberg chose all the right camera angles to fit the music. The result? Chills down my spine.
It does make sense, in fact. I have read this piece in the E.T book (released in 1982 along with the first release of the movie) and it says that though it was a fun ride for Elliot and Lance (his nerd friend that never got into the movie version), both kids were extremely frightened. Think. Different people do different things in different situations. It probably made him feel better to keep on moving the pedals.
Do you know WHO Botanicus is? ;) Anyone who can answer that REALLY, REALLY knows E.T inside and out. :) Or better yet, do you know WHAT E.T is or how old he is? (Extra-Terrestrial is NOT the complete answer and neither is I Don't Know for the reply to what his age is. lol) I'll give you one freebie. Hes about 1 million and a half years old. :) An old space man who is in love with Mary, Elliot's mother... I love the books. <3 lol
The title is wrong its the 2002 bike scene becuase E.T. does not smile in the 1982 one and also when they go by the moon Elliott's jacket is flowing in the 2002 one it's not in the 1982 one so the title should be called E.T.-Bike scene (2002)
@AJM212006 Hey it's really better than 1982 and the reason why they have to do CGI work is because the director wanted to correct them to make them look better so it's really the same just a little different thats why
when they fly infront of the moon. whats the point of that shot? if et can fly , then why in the name of mother fuckin snakes could he fly his ugly as back to where ever the fuck he is from eh?
when they fly infront of the moon. whats the point of that shot? if et can fly , then why in the name of mother fuckin snakes could he fly his ugly as back to where ever the fuck he is from eh?
This scene, in fact this whole movie still gives me chills. Definately Spielberg's masterpiece. Wish more movies like this were made. Every once in a while I watch just this scene and it still inspires me. Probably one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history. No CGI, just pure imagination the way it should be. Avatar could learn a thing or to from E.T
doesn't mean you can't use your imagination, it was cool, plus it's the same kind of ride as the peter pan one and even though I've never rode on that i bet it was awesome =3
I know, right?! I started watching it at around that same age and I am now, more than I ever was, interested in ANYTHING E.T. I love the movie, I love the books, I want to try at least one of the games, and I LOVE the ride! <3 Its my FAVORITE one at Universal. :) I have an E.T from that ride's gift shop, too. A life sized one that talks- the last one they had ever made of that kind. :) I have an E.T collector's glass, too. <3 And I have a question for you... In my next reply.
i am one of the few who actually knew ET when i was 4 i rode the Universal studios ride, and when i was 2 i took pictures with a robotic ET at sears. and i screamed at him and he screamed at me, and when i was 5 i fully understood the ET movie, and thought that i really knew ET from earlier experinces, SHIT WAS SOO CASH leme go dind that picture wheree i was screaming at ET in sears XDXD in the early 90's
This has to be the most famous iconic scene in all of cinema history, it sums up the magic of movies, Spielberg and childhood all in one fly-by of the moon, and the gorgeous music by John Williams fits perfectly!
It's the 2002 CGI version and with a region 2 speed-up to boot....as far from the original scene as you can get. How do people in the UK stand all the movies sounding like chipmunks?
