When I first heard this speech on the night he gave it, I had tears in my eyes because I was so proud of this man, and proud of the party which nominated him, and proud of the country that produced him. Now, in February of 2011, when I watch it anew, I have tears in my eyes again, but for a vastly different reason. I still cannot believe the disastrous course we have taken. I respect Obama as a man, but as a president he is a hapless catastrophe. To think we could have had John McCain!
