I just watched this documentary about the state of music on IFC. I think the big change with pop music in America when MTV arrived. Yeah, I was watching it when it first came on, like 5 hours every night. Ironically, during the day time I was working on MTV videos. This new machine was a monster and we had to feed it. It turned out that MTV was our enemy, not our friend. It became this evil jukebox. This movie really inspires me to listen to indies more, in all genres.
