If they are false assumptions then there is no need to have to prove anything the truth is the truth. You talk about the right to discuss politics as a christian. No one is talking about limiting your free speech. Many just don't think your free speech means you have the right to treat other people unequally under the law. It's odd that anyone would talk so passionately about discrimination against one group while encouraging it for another. IF the church wants to discriminate in it's own congregations that's fine, but our government is not an extension of the church.
