They were a put-on band. Not actual punks but a parody of the punk music scene. If anyone takes this album seriously they're missing the point. These were sophisticated musicians putting on working class accents and punk attitudes. A British friend of mine used to listen to this with his ears to the speakers while he split his sides laughing.
